    I just had 9 teeth cut out. You have saved my life. I thought I would be on a Cream of Wheat diet forever. You are amazing. Thank you

    Another one I did post dental surgery when I was CRAVING mexican food, I made malt-o-meal, but savory, seasoned with cumin, garlic powder, a latin brand chicken all-spice called Adobo, (just a dash of each), and water. Then I put finely shredded cheese on top with a dollop of sour cream. It looked "weird", but totally tasted like mashed tortilla soup! Hit. the. spot. Lol. Thank you for your recipes!

      That sounds awesome! I'll have to try it. Wonder how it would do with Cream of Wheat instead of Malt-o-Meal? This would be quicker than making polenta as the base. Thanks for the tip.

    Did this myself tonight since I was hungry for tacos. Only difference is I use Jenny-O's 90/10 ground turkey. It's really good especially for those who need to watch their fat intake and once you add seasoning you don't really know the difference.

    Hi Sherry
    First time view. Enjoy your recipes. Going into my 3rd week post bariactric surgery. Getting ready for purée foods. Not really looking forward to it though. I notice that you never mention how long to grind up foods in the processor.
    How long?
    Stevie

    • @NoChewFood
      @NoChewFood  6 лет назад +3

      Hi Stevie, I just grind until I get the consistency I want; could be 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on what I'm pureeing. Meats will take longer than fruits or veggies. Also adding a little more liquid will help make things smoother. Just be careful not to add too much liquid or you will have soup.

    Can I make the taco meat. Without all the spicy stuff. I would like to try that recipe out

    • @NoChewFood
      @NoChewFood  Год назад

      Of course. You can just use the meat alone and leave out all the spices.

    So I would need to spend hundreds of dollars and move. To have a big enough kitchen. I guess I am stuck with ensure.

    You must have a house. I am disabled living in a senior apartment. I barely have room to turn around in the kitchen. Much less fill up my refrigerator with something I can't eat. I wouldn't even have room for all these dishes. Nevermind having to clean all these things for one meal, for one person. Or store leftovers.

      That’s sad. You don’t have room for a skillet, and a pot? Maybe you can have someone else share with you. These recipes can be simplified, perhaps using an electric skillet. Many of these steps can be side stepped if you’d prefer store bought Salsa, guacamole, etc. Sherri is sharing what HER experiences are and in no way seemed to want to offend you, just sharing her go to recipes. Maybe she’s a caregiver to someone struggling with terminal cancer, and her love language for them was cooking. Maybe that person has strict dietary guidelines, so she is following those. So sad that your take away was to become offended and lash out at her. Best wishes, hope your situation with your small kitchen works itself out.

      @@valerief1231 I apologize if what I said caused offense. I was merely stating my situation. I am the one with cancer, but no care giver. With pandemic, share with who? The only people I see is the apartment staff. Also on SSI, so short of funds, especially now. If nothing changes, medicaid will be suspended, next month. I realize I am not the only one with problems, right now. Sometimes I think it would be better for everyone if I was dead. Between the pain and the costs to keep me alive.

      @@32202masterj I just now saw your comment or I would have replied sooner. I can empathize with your situation, and "No", you would not be better off dead, so please get that thought out of your head. I was a caregiver for my mom, and I would be there for you if I could. As far as the small space, I moved out of state last year and now live in a small basement apartment in a woman's house. I only have a small toaster oven and my foot processor, but I have come up with ways to cook. Two night ago, I put a single pork chop in a baking dish, rubbed it with some spices, covered it with foil and baked it for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees in the toaster oven. Then cut it up on my portable table and into the food processor which sits right next to the toaster oven on the table. It hasn't been easy, but there are ways to cook in a small space. I know it's been 6 months since you posted this comment, and I am so sorry I didn't see it before now. Please let me know you are okay. God bless you!

      @@NoChewFood I am still in the same situation. I was not clear before. Being without teeth is not the only issue. I have chordoma a form of cancer. It this case it attacks the nerves and brain. So one it is constant pain in the 7-10 range. Two it is a race between being deaf, dumb and blind and death. Oh it affects my balance as well. As for reasons to live? I have one older brother in his 70's. No friends.

      @@32202masterj I wish I could be there with you. I understand being alone, and it's no fun. But I try to remind myself that I'm not really alone. One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 27:10, "when my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me." And He will take care of you, too. I would love to keep in touch with you if you would like, so please feel free to write back.
