What's funny is that Comstar didn't even *need* to win at Tukayyid. The defenders brought so much to the field that even if the clans managed to complete their objectives, they would have lost so many pilots and so much wargear in the process that their advance towards Terra would have been halted for a generation or two, and that's *if* they had all been remotely competent like Clan Wolf. And that's if their logistics and manufacturing capability was only a few systems away. Which they weren't; they were all the way back in Clan Space. The I.S. 'Mech formation and strategy towards the end helped them even the odds and tip the balance to their favour. They shielded the Catapult which was probably armed with twin Arrow-IV launchers. By placing what looked to be a Zeus in the gap towards the rear between the Atlas and Mauler, the Clan 'Mechs had no choice but to engage the trio of assault 'Mechs that could soak up and dish out high amounts of damage long enough for the Atlas and Catapult to get into close range and deliver a knockout punch to the Timber Wolf's cockpit. Without the Mauler to shield it from the Kodiak, the Catapult and Atlas fired all their weapons repeatedly even at the risk of overheating at the remaining Clan 'Mech which could very likely kill the Catapult with one well-placed shot to the frontal cockpit. It seemed, however, that the Clan code of honour lured the Kodiak to trade fire with the Atlas instead, allowing the Catapult to deliver an Arrow-IV along with an AC/20 round from the Atlas to its center torso which had lost most of its armour by this point.
@@muneirovalibas6194 Perhaps, though if the Timberwolf and Kodiak focused fire on the Atlas at the start, instead of engaging the Zeus and Mauler, they might've taken out the Atlas, paving the way for them to finish off the other three I.S. 'Mechs.

@@finegamingconnoisseur Good point. That's just the sort of ruthless move Focht and the Com Guards would pull. To fall back after two such swift victories would of course be unthinkable to a Smoke Jag. He was probably the Star leader: The most speed and the least tonnage for minimum time between combats and maximal honor. Exactly the wrong kind of mech for that sort of pilot.
When you crunch the numbers (only mechs in this count, not aerospace and other vehicles, or infantry) the Clans were outnumbered 10 to 1. To destroy the ComGuards, every Clan warrior would need to score at least 10 kills. Every time a Clanner goes down, his remaining necessary kills need to be accounted for by his allies. Meanwhile the ComGuards just need to kill 1 Clanner per 10 losses. In that context this video is a complete success. 6 CG take down 4 Clanners (including the burning Mad Cat at the start), it may seem steep, but that's the "ruthless calculus of war" right there.

Very interesting that this fight is against the Smoke Jaguars--Dinju Pass was their theater of operations--but they had a Kodiak on their side. The Kodiak is supposed to be a Ghost Bear Mech, so a Masakari or Daishi would have been much more appropriate for a Jag force.
The Kodiak was designed by Ghost Bear, but other Clans used them, Smoke Jag included. They still had at least two left in by the time of operation Bulldog.

Could be reasonably explained as isorla from a previous Trial against Clan Ghost Bear, or a trade deal for something else. The real surprise would be Smoke Jaguar bringing a non-omnimech to the fighting on Tukayyid, as by 3052 those would be mostly relegated to 2nd-string and garrison forces.

The clanner in the vulture learned a hard lesson that day about overextending and overconfidence.
It's also a lesson to the LRM noobs in MechWarrior Online to not use LRMs expecting to win.

I reckon it doesn't look too bad, especially for something released in 1995.
