I've mained Ironbreaker since day one. I've clutched more runs than lesser careers have played in total. This guide is objectively factual. Curse Resistance, not needed. Shield weapon, not needed. Stop being a beardling and become a full, tree crown sized beard. Join the Ironbreaker ranks.
Needed the insults to convince myself to swap off Slayer. Realised that Slayer has a hidden mechanic where pressing leap into 50 enemies gives you the death debuff a lot. 10/10 recommend, dying takes effort now.
Slayer gets less squishy when you reframe Leap as your special killer in your head. You ARE the ranged weapon you snipe specials with. With Dawi Drop applying to bombs, you can delete patrols with Leap + bomb (meme option) Crunch turns it into a more defensive option, as panicking will stagger enemies and give breathing room The third one lets you spam Leap a ton, which can allow you to clutch when the rest of your team is dead and specials are closing in
I was a filthy Sienna main, struggling with my squishy body and build choice, until I stumbled upon Ironbreaker and realized he's a three foot Chad wall of steel with mounted guns. Ever since then, I have developed a small fanclub of egirls with their faces stuck in ahegao position. Now I have confirmation that Ironbreaker is meta from the pros
I started the game with IB, but quickly came to the realisation that you will not have fun with any other class on legend or cata if you only played IB. Everything will feel weak compared. You simply dont need to master the game mechanics, dodging, positioning etc. with IB. At least half of the IB's that join QP legend or cata lobbys take the most damage, even with all the goodies IB has. And (of course thats just my assumption) those are the people that only played IB and hence never had to endure the pain of learning the game the "normal" way. Yes, IB is fun, but you miss out on so many situations that you learn the really important essentials from, like gettin hit due to bad positioning, gettin overrun by hordes, not having good block management and so on. IB just allows the player to ignore all of that in alot of cases. If you want to really learn the game and shine with any Class, especially in higher diffs, i recommend play Witch Hunter. If you master Witch Hunter, you will have the skillset to use any Class not just IB (except elf, we dont talk about elf).
I agree about WHC and I would also add Merc to that list as they are very similar. My main point in this video is if you want to branch into the high difs and not be a burden to your team IB is a good place to start precisely for the reasons you mentioned, ie its very hard to die. Once you get a feel for the increased special spawning, enemy density increased hp etc you can branch out
If Bardin is taken you can also pick Unchained for easymode. You may be disencouraged by the times you die to overheat but you can literally vent while surrounded by skaven, with the right perks you're even tankier
Well, I didn't want to play with the dwarf but with this video I said to give it a try to Ironbreaker. First with the great hammer and the grenade launcher, which is nice, but I got the Cog Hammer after and ohh booy the little dwarf came to life and made playing with him more fun as I had with any other character. So yeah, Ironbreaker is awesome and fun :) Thank you for the recommendation! p.s: Yeah, that little ding noise sometimes the hammer is doing when hitting and the laughs of the dwarf when swinging are so satisfying :)
I played bardin first Played ironbreaker from lvl 7 until lvl 35 +65... Finally picked up kruber a week ago and my immediate reaction was "oh this is yucky". Needless to say I went back to heartbreaker, I mean dream maker, I mean love taker.... Ironbreaker...
In my experience, the best way to get better at Vermintide 2 is to play Witch Hunter Captain, since everything he does is based on the fundamentals of the game. I'm a Foot Knight main, and after playing WHC and Zealot for a couple months, I recently swapped back to ol reliable, and I have been dying less than Ironbreakers, and my only deaths so far have been due to Assassins/Hookrats in dense hordes or Spawns throwing me off ledges. Today I did a Legend run of Chaos Wastes where 3 of the 4 players got nearly 1k kills, and the other got 750, meaning we fought almost 4,000 enemies, and I only went down twice, once because of a Hookrat in a dense horde, and once because I was tanking a Minitaur when a Spawn came, threw me across the room straight into a Hookrat in the middle of about 5 Bestigor. Both times my team was able to res me quickly, and I was able to keep them safe.
Speaking as a 3200 hour VT2 vet, I can absolutely testify that learning the game as IB is a BAD idea, because every other class feels squishy and weak by comparison.
true, startet with "little beard fella" and max leveld him. Thought, well onto the next class and then i realised, i actually have to learn the mechanocs of the game to get trough a level
My only problem with playing Ironbreakers, is that there is always someone else playing it in every game I join. Vermintide 2 needs a mode where you can play as 4 Ironbreakers.

Honestly I think more than the Ironbreaker class itself is just the cog hammer.
