@@avrumisolaimani8546 why? What does bloke mean to you? I always thought it meant "guy", "man" etc. Is this a lady? If it is, I do apologize. I really thought this was a man for some reason.
Hey man, don't worry. Patreon is fantastic, it's a great way to give back to the creators we love. Don't need to be uncomfortable. Besides, you are a true gentleman and you deserve it.
In no way should you feel uncomfortable about asking for patronage. You put time, work, and knowledge into these videos. That's worth something to anyone who learns something.
Was watching 'get hands dirty' the other night and thought something was amiss, then realised that she was wearing your shirt, nice to see your shirt in Portugal. pls keep up the great work !
I just started watching your channel but I REALLY appreciate the craftsmanship and the way you go about explaining your work! You are an excellent craftman! I'm not able to financially support your work, but as a craftsman myself, I support you in always possible. Thanks much....Joe from KY. USA
Love it! No worries about Patreon. Many RUclipsrs are going that route since Google is effectively getting paid by sponsors to place ads, but won't monetize people due to their "algorithm" flagging content as not advertiser friendly. Funny though, the ads still keep appearing or show up again after the "resolution" of the issue which is usually when the number of views has fallen below what they will monetize for, typically after a week or so. Because of that, many have gone to Patreon because it's not nearly the hassle Google is. Keep up the good work!
Some can't afford to support but a lot can and want to. Don't feel down about it, accept it. We enjoy your videos if I didn't I would stop watching. I really enjoy a lot of different things but the ones I don't I drop.
Such a useful item, and explained so well. You're an excellent teacher. And that mention of the Patreon page and appealing to viewers to contribute if they like is one of the sweetest, most decent, and unoffending practical invitations for contributions I've ever seen. Another extra thumbs up to you for that too.
I know this is late, but I think it's perfectly reasonable for you to provide a Patreon account for people to support you, especially if people aren't _required_ to participate. You have some really wonderful content and I know that there are people who want to help you continue making and sharing that content. I can't, currently, but will definitely join in the future, as soon as I can afford it. Thank you so much for providing this great content!
Hey Pask, upgrade idea. Instead of gluing the head to the bar, could you put on a bit of head wood or metal that can be turned to hold the head, and turned square to make the head removable? Then If you need a shorter or longer bar you could change out the bar. Maybe a cross bolt and both head and tail slide off the tail end? The cap to put on the tail end could be made the same size as the bar and turned 45 degrees to work as a retainer. Great cam set-up. I'll be having to mess with this one for sure. Thanks mate.
Thanks for the input Thomas! The head of the clamp could be made in exactly the same way but bolted instead of glued. I did a similar thing on my original bar clamp video ruclips.net/video/P0wLjQqf-zM/видео.html to change the size of the bar. :)
I plan to make this in the near future, thanks for posting ! Modification ideas...#1 clamping pads: I'll use an old cutting board cut to size. #2 super glue issue on bar: I would use the rubbery stuff they have for drawers @ the Dollar Tree. I think that would work great.
Greetings from Argentina! Your work is great. I am unemployed now and I use my time with carpentry work at home, perhaps it is my future ... in my first financial income I will send you a donation and buy a T-shirt. Thanks for everything!
Great idea, and even better for not having assumed that all woodworkers can weld! btw, I live in a country where I can get the steel cheaply but plywood is not widely available.
I would reverse the direction of both of the cams. That way, tightening the cam for the sliding side would have you pushing the slide to close the clamp on the pieces, and on the fixed side you would be pushing down against your bench, having support as you apply the clamping pressure.
GDay Neil great build mate your a legend man cant really afford to support u on your patron sorry but i really love watching your videos and thank you for making most of your plans free take care mate and thanx for all your hard work . Rob M.
might try course sand paper as a brake surface say 80 grit , i used it on a taper jig sled as a anti slip surface on the hold downs after previously applying the required pressure to prevent kick out and secure the work piece left dents in the work piece ,, with the sand paper less pressure was required to hold the work piece thus no kick out and no dents , 20yr on still no issues with either problem , cool project mate ,,, i can see building several different sizes tks lol they were four sided taper legs, so i could only use one hold down , very little clamping surface
Very interesting. I like it. I wonder if a strip of aluminum cut from a pop can, inserted on the rubbing block for the cams, would make the cams slide easier and without any possible sticking. Maybe it's not an issue.
Thanks! The cam rubs onto the clamp and burnishes both surfaces smooth, I did put some beeswax on the prototype clamp and that made it a smoother to operate too! :)
Hello there Sir. Really enjoy your channel. Thanks for the free plans, I apreciated it. As soon as I can, I'll start patreoning your channel. It is instructive as much as entertaining. My best from the other side of the world, Brasil. Cheers.
Just found your channel while looking for bar clamps. Your design is simple and elegant so I just made a donation and downloaded the plans, it’s be my next little project. Good luck with your channel, I just subscribed.
Great video! First time viewer, subscribed already! Video content is great, your narration is straight to the point, your end project is definitely something I'll be making! Keep up this quality work! Looking forward to looking back through all your other videos. All the best.
Use a logarithmic spiral shape instead of circle for the Cam. It will work better because pressure will be applied at the same point yielding more forward force and handle locking force.
As always am interesting build. I suppose the cam clamp on the stationery side is required because the travel is not much. Otherwise it could probably have been avoided. Thanks for the video which gives a very nice illustration of how a cam clamp system could be used for this. Great video
Everyone does Patreon. Don't feel ashamed about trying to fund yourself. The fact you are humble shows you are a good bloke.
can’t argue except that last word. bloke must be replaced
@@avrumisolaimani8546 why? What does bloke mean to you? I always thought it meant "guy", "man" etc. Is this a lady? If it is, I do apologize. I really thought this was a man for some reason.
Totally agree so humble and genuine
Pask, you are a maker in the true sense of the word. A master. Thank you!
Hey man, don't worry. Patreon is fantastic, it's a great way to give back to the creators we love. Don't need to be uncomfortable. Besides, you are a true gentleman and you deserve it.
Thanks for that Alexandre! I'm already feeling more comfortable with it and also I'm enjoying sharing extra content from around the workshop! :)
In no way should you feel uncomfortable about asking for patronage. You put time, work, and knowledge into these videos. That's worth something to anyone who learns something.
Very nice design. This is the first design I've considered making because of the straight forward approach. Thanks!
Thanks Bill - glad it appeals to you! :)
Was watching 'get hands dirty' the other night and thought something was amiss, then realised that she was wearing your shirt, nice to see your shirt in Portugal. pls keep up the great work !
Thanks Gary - it was great to see Cristiana wearing one of my hoodies! That was an awesome video too! :)
I enjoy how simple your projects are to do......and you even include the mistakes and the fix... awesome
Thanks!
Your free templates also is a good way to generate a good following. It is helpful to go along with your videos

@pask makes that cant be better than this, thanks for your time and effort
It really is a good operating creativity for services that do not require a lot of strength and traction. Congratulations on the idea!
Oh look, nine people accidentally clicked dislike! Your videos are impossible to dislike, Neil! Once again, an interesting, clever and useful design!
Thanks! I'll never understand the dislikes but honestly it doesn't bother me at all, it's just one of those things! :)
Maaaaate.... bought a couple of your plans, particularly the quick release, you are a legend!

Love the look and performance of the clamp!! Great video!!!
A great design for some very good looking cam clamps that seem fairly straight forward to make 👍
