- This was a piece I did for the Arroyo Grande High School Talent Show in 2012, and went on to perform at the county level.

I just came across the spot in my email where I get notifications from videos I have put on RUclips... I had no idea how many people have viewed, liked, and commented on this performance. Thank you all for the kind words!
A few months after this video I went off to college where I taught silks on the weekends and occasionally performed in San Francisco or for private events. When I graduated I went into law enforcement so I unfortunately took a long break from acrobatics. Now I’m seeing this video for the first time in years and reading these comments for the first time as a wife and mom of 2. A guess a bit has changed in the last 8 years!

people who do the Ariel silks are my inspiration. I am 14 and I have made this a hobby for when I'm not at school. it's a very big deal to me. I love this type of art because it shows people that this might look beautiful and majestic but it is very difficult to master.
@DragoCyko hi! I hope you still want to do aerial! I have a few tips for beginners.... Don't be discouraged if u learn slow! Everyone moves at their own pace, and something that will also help is stretching at home every day if ur not already flexible. PLEASEEE take classes and DO NOT self teach, it's SO SO SO dangerous without a coach. Have fun!

@TheRobloxGurls oh yes great idea! Stretch and maybe look for some arm and an workouts to do whenever you can, it’ll really help you get a head start when you’re able to find a class!

You can totally do dance or gymnastics until you can take classes. It really puts you at an advantage

firstly, great job. I know what it's like performing under pressure. secondly, the drop that you did at the opening of the performance is very very dangerous, and has paralyzed and killed aerial isms before. The way that the silks are tied, if you wrap around the back the first time and don't do it exactly the same the second time, it's as if the knot was never done, and you'll fall straight to the ground. I've done the move dozens of times and when I found this out, I would never do it again, even if I were paid to do it. VERY dangerous! I don't want to see another aerialist get injured or killed by a move that is known for that exactly.
I see where you're coming from, but it's not that difficult to do the wrap around the back the same both times as long as you're concentrating! (I'm sure you know this) I guess the way an accident would happen would be if the aerialist was really nervous or not concentrating - I think if the aerialist is in complete control then it's okay to perform the drop?
Indeed the first drop, she did is a banned drop cause it had caued bad things to other arielst...let me tell you this, all can go fine for so long but then...none wishes goes wrong,..

If anyone in the comments has ariel silks at home what would the recommended measure of the silks be because I have no clue
Mådîšöñ îš Øbłîvíôûš 40 I don't but the thing says you can buy 40ft but I would recommend like 20 ft
it's incredibly risky doing at home. especially without prior training because there are factors such as the strength of the rigging point to factor in, drop shock, surrounding room. and it's adviced that if all these factors are possible, that you find someone who knows about aerial arts to be a spotter to avoid injury
if it's inside it depends on the hight of your floor to your ceiling

Do gymnastics
many aerialists are too tall for gymnastics. The girl in the video included. I can't do gymnastics to save my life but ask me to do a krochet climb to straddle slack drop and I'm there.
