This was my very first Half Life game. Was a much smaller kid and I didn't know how to read the box. I always assumed this was the first Half Life 2 because duh, its the first Episode. But no, there were 2 amazing games before this.

he was trained in firearms, I assume, that the day of the resonance cascade he was most likely going to go on a Xen expedition. All the HEV suit dudes who went on Xen expeditions carried firearms, and the rationale is obvious lol.

episode 1 deserves much more praise, so many awesome sequences.
1:13:35 is especially awesome. The grenade holding zombine gets wasted, drops his grenade and it kills the other one that's charging Alyx. Then "What Kind of Hospital Is This" music kicks in. So perfect.

This game still looks good to me and if Valve remastered the series with the latest that 3d games have to offer I would pay top dollar for all of them.

My guess, advanced versions of the Teleporter used in Nova Prospekt. That's the only way I can explain how Eli is suddenly wherever tf Alyx took Kleiner and Mossman getting to the Arctic.
They used Breen's escape pods, which is revealed through unused dialogue.
For the whole time when you were using the pistol, I kept on yelling YA GOT A SHOTGUN until you pulled it out on 39:41

Back then, this game was hard to start because it crashes all the time. So I import the maps into Episode Two.
Alyx's voice seems tired here for some reason. But getting the game to work without needing tweak seems like a whole new game to me again.

The one thing that perplexed me is Mossmans sudden vacation in the Antarctica. She was in the Citadel with you the Player, Alyx, Breen and Eli just a few hours before Epsiode 1 starts.
Unless this recording of hers is before she joined the combine, which I don't believe, this whole borealis thing has no place in this story.
Well we do know the resistance has teleporters and she definitely was in some kind of rebel hideout up in the arctic so they probably had one there
