I lived in Singapore for a couple of years - one day whilst swimming in our complex's pool, I met Christine (Budi Soehardi's daughter). We became very good friends over the years. My brother and I spent our holiday at the Roslin Orphanage in 2010, shortly after the CNN Tribute to Heroes 2009 - we met some of those kids on the video. Let me tell you, I have never met more humble people than Budi and Peggy Soehardi ... What they've done for these children since 1999 and what they continue to do for them every day is nothing short of incredible.
Dear Capt Budi- Im a orphan myself who grew up in mother teresas orphanage in caluctta and although i am a muslim our beloved mother looked after us as her own children and i see my beloved mother teresa in you. Today i am a successful software programmer working for google india and make it a point to donate 30% of my earnings to my orphanage in calcutta.. these kids will not forget all the hard work u have put in for them.love and respect from 1.2 billion Indians.Jai Hind
