I have the ulanzi version of the peak design tripod and it came with a replacement centre column that has a screw built in so you would have a more secure fit. Great idea thanks for sharing!
Yes that would be ideal. I think that's the better tripod for sure.
I‘ve mounted a fluid head on my PD for years. To secure the arca plate I use anti slip tape, which has improved the stability a lot. Furthermore I use the Ulanzi U-190 mini fluid head ($ 50; Weight: 12.5 oz / 353 g). This has no damping on the pan and I guess spring damped tilt - not perfect but for me it works.
That sounds great. It would be a lot lighter than this one.
I've literally just got a new camera, so i need a new tripod myself. This is a good video!!
Thank you!
Thank you for posting this video. How are you going with that combo so far?
It was more of an experiment. I think I’d prefer a smaller head but fun to try
Did you consider getting the PD universal head adapter? I would think the three stopping pins would considerably improve the ball head stability
You’re probably right. I didn’t want to put any more money into it though.
Bigger tripod with a leveling base. Attach the fluid head to that. You really don’t need the ball head. Watch Hudson Henry vids.
