Dalits are not Shudras. Dalits were the people who were kept out of society/village for some kind of punishment. For example if the society thinks that a woman is cheating on her husband, they may kick her out of village and thus she will become a Dalit who used to live outside of the border of a village and were treated as the lowest of creatures and would never be able to live a normal life like other villagers.
