I now looked into this app Normad Sculpt what i've installed a long time ago. And i was shocked to just get thrown into it without a tutorial from the App itself and yeah i tryd lil bit and came to the conclusion to look for a tt for this sculpting app. And yeah here i am. (Sry my englisch isn't that advanced). 😅

oh yes maxon zbrush and nomad are both great! i think youll have a great time learning how to use them both as well! especially with dave reed and southergfx! ive stayed glued to their videos on 3d sculting because they explain a lot and not just about the apps about 3d sculpting period! have fun creating!
not only did you teach me to use nomad but your insanely soothing voice guided me into not one but two much-needed naps, you are my hero lmao

I understand completely! I gave up sculpting in blender, I realized I need it to be fun too!
Sculpting isn't usually done in blender (you probably experienced the why). If you're looking for computer software made for sculpting, zBrush is the top of the game (but obviously takes away the mobility of the iPad).

Love to hear this!! I tried to major in 3D when I started art school in 1999 but I just hated it. It’s crazy that I hadn’t considered 3D until 2021 when I discover nomad. I’m always glad when I can pay forward the idea of 3D being so convenient and fun! 💯🙌🏾

some people who notice your smoothing is working different than Dave's, uncheck the option "relax" in the left corner under symmetry. no idea what it does--but dave has it off.

I just started nomad and had skill share. You were the first one that popped up. I don't know if it's cause I already watched your intro to nomad there BUT I feel like I learned more about sculpting here in the 2 hours then i did there in 4 hours. Not including the "extras". Hey Dave, I came across your video. Honestly I've been using Blender for a while for making characters but I really like making sculpts just to get better at 3D. Your videos on Nomad Sculpt has been very helpful. I do have Nomad Sculpt on my Samsung Note 20 so I Sculpt on there but it can get really cramped. I do have an iPad, however it's a much older model, I believe 6th gen with Gen 1 Apple pencil, so way before M chips released. Either way I learned a lot from your videos. If Nomad Sculpt works out on my iPad, I'll just do Sculpt practice 👍 Keep up the great work.
I used this tutorial today and yesterday and made a cute little mouse!! My fiance is doing a test print right now with the 3D printer :)
That’s awesome! Let me know how it turns out!! I stopped printing for a bit.. I think the temp was causing my most recent fails… printer is right near the window!

I was following your tutorial in Skillshare. But when I opened Nomad for the 1st time I don’t see it the same like in your tutorial. Can you please show us how to set up Nomad so we can follow your tutorials, thanks for your tutorials

It’s probably “smooth shading” option!
If you still see polygons on yours while his is smooth, go to the gear icon and click smooth shading
My matcaps are black in the viewport. I don't know what seems to be the problem.

Unrelated but it popped into my head as I was watching but, am I allowed to use things I make in nomad in another project or does the company who made nomad own my work?
As much as the company that makes pencils owns any artwork made from the pencil ✏️ , so no, if you make it, it’s your intellectual property. You can do with it what you’d like. 👍🏾
@@drugfreedave Excellent! I was figuring it’d be that way (considering they don’t have a commercial license version like facerig or how some modeling software has student versions), but I always worry since one music app I have which uses vocaloid stuff has some really murky ownership language. However, it seemed like korg gadget you own the finished product and I was assuming this was the same but I was hesitant to put more effort into it if I couldn’t use what I made.
I’m not good yet, but it’s nice being able to say you made a thing and are able to use your thing however you want. So, thanks for the reply!

When I use the tube tool it won’t let me move the view around. It just treats my finger has if I’m drawing or setting points. Would anyone know how I can fix this?
Check the settings for touch inputs, you’ll have to dig around but upper right side has some settings 👍🏾
HELP! I have version 1.84, @12:56 , I don't know how to activate the dialogue box with the three dots at the top of the screen. I also can't find the cylinder parameter box.
They are there before you validate certain primitives!👍🏾
@@drugfreedave I'm glad I found it. It was right in front of me, under my nose, Nomad Sculpt is an amazing program. I'm impressed using it at 64 years old. I had a problem with two files that I created with the same name, though. When I renamed the second one to "No 2", the first one disappeared. It had a different project that I had spent several hours on. I was about to print it with my new Bambu A1 mini, which I'll get on Tuesday. That was a bummer. Do you know if there is a backup file somewhere?
Mask tool doesn't leg me move the selected area, only moves the whole object. Very frustrating
So when you draw on the mask (and it’s dark) and then you invert the mask so that the head is now dark and only the mouth part is not dark.. when you do that and then use gizmo it doesn’t move the unmasked part, it moves the whole darkened head area??

i keep getting holes in the cheeks of my character after voxel remeshing, and i maxed out the subdivision before remeshing. is there anything that can be done about this?
Hmm are the cheeks thin for some reason? Thats the only reason I’d think a hole would form after remeshing… 🤔
@@drugfreedave yeah I added clay and tried to smooth it out but it didn’t work. So Imma just say the holes are an artistic decision 🤷🏽♂️
It’s too bad I can’t see what you’ve done. If you add clay then remesh, it should form holes. Try adding spheres to the area, remesh, and then smooth. The spheres should act like a patch and keep holes from forming
