Car review videos are important, but Bjørn's roadtrip videos remain my favorite. Thanks for taking us along :)
I lived here when I was a little girl. 🤣🤣🤣
26:52 😃
Don't judge. Everyone can be transsex ;)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
it was too many miles on his back...
@@th3splifsmok3r79 that was so funny
I have watched Bjorn's Tesla video's for years and this past July I finally joined the ranks of Tesla owners, we took delivery of our Model Y on July 28th. It's fabulous and due to Bjorn's video's I knew everything about my Tesla on the day we picked it up. Bjorn is da man....
Wow - that LED light bar is fabulously bright!
And - oh yeah - traveling with a Model 3 is almost routine, it seems. Amazing progress, for sure!
It feels like he is coming home again after testing all the other EVs, reminding him how great the model 3 actually is. Supercharger network is just irreplaceable , makes you look forward to a future where this is the norm for all EVs.
True
This really cheered me up! This is the perfect video to watch while recovering from fever :)
wtf, trying to talk to sleeping Bjorn at 2 at night, people never stop to amaze me
it was probably because you were little girl some time ago
This is cool. It shows the complete feasibility of a Tesla for long range road tripping.
Hi Bjorn,
I'm loving the Route 66 music track
Cordialement,
I usually buy Polarbröd every week but now they are not available to buy where I live because Bjørn eats all Polarbröd.
This is not the whole truth, one of the bakeries that bakes Polarbröd has burned down so there is a shortage of bread in northern Sweden.
Yes, Polarbröd uses other bakerys now. "Polarpolare" in swedish they call it. (Like Polarbuddies/Polarfriends)
A revelation packed episode.;) And the junk food eating skills, are perfection.
What really is impressive however, is the eficiency/perfomance combination of the M3 line-up...from minimal kWh battery packs. And the charging network and speed.
This car has real character too.
Effortless.
It is great to see how much things have improved since you did those videos with the Millennium Falcon. All those “oh shieet, will I have enough juice” moments are largely gone because the charging infrastructure there is so much better, and the range and efficiency have improved so much.
Bacon cheese and Porsche Experience water, that's why I come to this channel.
Italian and quality interesting have to check this out 😀 thanks for a great video really long distance wow!
I wouldn't streamsnipe Bjorn out of respect for him, if I randomly saw him at a supercharger I'd want to say hi and tell him I appreciate his videos. It's pretty obvious if someone is happy to chat. If he was obviously in a rush or busy I'd just say "Thanks man" and let him carry on. It would be so weird to follow him around...
I don't mind people bumping into me. But I can clearly tell if they meet me randomly or if they intentionally stalk me via the live stream.
There are many good EVs out there, but a Tesla combined with the Supercharger networks is simply at another level. Great vid as always, Björn!
That LED light is like computer generated graphics in video games showing even the little details on the road...
Thanks Bjorn.
gotta love bjorn's content. esp when he drives his tesla.
NOT FIRST! - Looking forward to this video when work meetings end!
Again, awesome road trip 👍
I love the background music
Thanks for eating on camera, my wife enjoyed it!
I was just thinking how cool it would be to live in a place called "Grong".
Can you do a comparison, like a standardized test, for driving assistance features?
I've seen the Euro NCAP results and can't believe that a eGolf has better driving assistance features than a Tesla Model 3.
I would actually trust your test results much more!
Road trips are just the best 👍👍 love to wifey ❤️
The LED bar is made in Australia and there it costs $875 tax included. In USD that works out to $623... Serious lighting.
Great road trip....much appreciated....excellent advertisement for the Tesla 3 too...!!
23:54 - 23:57
Best part of the video
nop the best part is 26:50 - 26:53 ;D
yes the Model 3 Performance is sweet for the short charge times!
I think it's time now to incorporate some drone footage into your videos and take it to the next step...... I would recommend a Maverick mini with the fly more package..... Very compact and very light..... Aerial footage of some of your locations camping and charging.... Would definitely add to the quality of your production
It's called Mavic and I already own one. The only problem is the very strict drone rules in Norway.
Bjørn Nyland Just start from far away and in your video say you found the sd card
33:32 some people are just painfully embarrassing.
Fast charging turns out to be the killer app. I listened to a German guy talking about his trip from Frankfurt to Vienna in his Audi e-Tron. He said the Audi is the range king and can charge with full speed all the way to almost till the battery is fully charged. He had left the Teslas far behind. Now I understand better how the German automakers are thinking, on the autobahn all that matters is how fast you are back on the road.
@Bjorn Nyland Could you please tell me how to buy a Xpeng or any other Chinese car in EU? Which of them could be registered in EU? I would appreciate if you answer. Thanks
You should do this trip with the Honda E and then you won’t love charging stops anymore 🤣
Amazing led light bar. I don't know if this would be legal to install it on a car in Austria...
haha, fix nicht
I would love to see you sound dampen the whole floor of the model 3. I believe that to be where a lot of sound road noise comes through the car
ruclips.net/video/IwbtOiZ3M5U/видео.html
Bjørn Nyland the I have seen that! I’m talking about floor haha stripping the carpet and seats out to do the floor with both dynamat and MLV to block sound. Because with the model 3 the floor seems to act as a drum off of the glass roof and can crate an echo chamber. Just thought it would be a cool video being that I have never found anyone to do the whole floor.
Bjorn, you have the best job in the world. I would love to do many road trips in a Tesla. How is the seat comfort on long journeys? I drove a Model X and couldn't get comfortable?
I don’t know .. the route you took in the Polestar 2 you noted was a slow route with mostly 50kW chargers, plus it was raining etc.. worst case all the way .. Would be nice to know what it would have taken going the fast route with the Polestar 2 .. 11hrs?
Exactly same route, dude. Look at the map. And it was raining the first 150 km for Polestar 2. But it was also raining last 300 km for Model 3.
Bjørn Nyland Just going by what you stated in your Polestar 2 video .. so are you now saying there was no 150kW high speed charger route you could have taken with the Polestar 2? Why did you make that statement in the Polestar 2 video? Anyways if there is a 150kW route that would be best for the Polestar 2 that would be nice to see the real difference.. right now the major difference I see is 50kW vs 150kW nothing todo with the car ... similar outcome would be with two Polestar 2 .. one taking a 150kW route vs the other taking mostly a 50kW route .. still the Polestar 2 video was more entertaining I like that you interact and help others on the way ..
@@fullyelectric In the Polestar video he talks about how there are no 150kw chargers past a certain point. He talks about how much faster a Tesla is in the north because there are superchargers but only 50kw chargers for other cars.
Deven Lemercier It’s all good I got it now .. Watch the video @ 3:15 he stated the reason he chooses the slowest route ... that is confusing to me if you plan to compare two different charging speed with two different vehicles .. however i think I understand the reason now .. in his last video at the end he provided the details I was asking for from my first post .. and I do hope in your country they will install more 150+kW High speed chargers in all locations .. in the US 150-350kW CCS Chargers is very common and in any route that may only have 50kW there is always an alternate route with 150-350kW chargers .. however Bjorn wanted to go to the Polar Circle and their are just no available 150+ CCS available .. thus the Tesla is King going into areas that only have 50kW chargers .. my only question now is does Tesla cover every route in your Country and never need to ever use other non Tesla chargers?
Pls show.installation of led light. Thanks
Next time you drive through Mo i Rana i want to try the cars you drive :D
Tesla still king of comfortable, long distance travel. Noise dampening could be better though.
Just use 18" on Model 3. Dead silent.
By the way the Polestar 2 "recall" was a 90 minute software update at the service centre which I did yesterday. I got an appointment the next day after calling. Others had just dropped in. So very little inconvenience.
Let's hope it can be as convenient as Tesla:
Get a notification on the phone about software update. Confirm update start. And after 30 minutes, get a notification that software update has completed. That's convenient.
@@bjornnyland as you know OTA updates for Polestar 2 start at end of the year. I just wanted to clarify that "recall" was much easier than expected when first heard the news.
I customised the KIA energy efficiency based on several 2000KM trips I have done, I was very eager for teh Polestar but it does not come even close to the efficiency of the Soul, I hope Polestar are able to fix this.
As I am seeing this I have rode med MD3 LR from Haugesund to Saltdal. Had to stop on the Fortum charger after Mo I Rana as. I skipped the that one an headed to Saltdal. Rain and 8 degree on the mountain the Tesla did not expect in its estimate :-D
You should have charged enough at the supercharger. There's really no need to use 50 kW on that stretch. Not even in winter.
Bjørn Nyland I know, but I got cockey and skipped the one in Mo i Rana :)
Some Tesla superchargers should have some 11 kW AC stalls, especially when there is a place to eat. Because traveling with a family, I have to move the car even before the food is served.
11 kW AC is too slow. But about 50-70 kW DC would be perfect for dinner.
Hi Bjørn - Did you say you have 18 inch winter wheels on your Performance? Didn't think it could have "that small" wheels on?
Do you think Standard Range plus would be sufficient to do a road trip from Oslo to Tromso (with occasional stops) without stopping very often? I believe you drive a performance model.
One day I will do the journey from Portugal to Artic Circle Center on my SR+
will you be testing the XC40 P8 ?
Everybody has to admit the LED headlight upgrade for Tesla Model 3
That sentence doesn't make sense...
@@JonathanvanZuijlekom Sorry.. I accidentally pressed send button...
I like the new songs!
STARTING a new SPREAD SHEET - help people find the lowest time to charge for the most added miles/Km to range.
helping to find optimum range of low and high batter - 30-70 % for example?
I think you see the goal - how to find and display the info?? good luck
Can you do another road trip a bit further to the nordkapp? Maybe not now if there is ice and snow but maybe when it's free. Would be the ultimate challenge for mc hammer
No, too long. If you want to see North Cape, look here:

:D we've are even treated to a burger review. Love it
Love Tesla !! thanks for your videos !! from Sydney Australia !
Have you tried a 12v refrigerator in the car to see how much power it saps?
I already had a cooler box with me on this trip. It pulled about 30 W.
So at 30 W, on the trip leg Polar circle to Mosjoen, 170 km / 106 mi; average speed 85 kph/53 mph; consumption 155 Wh/km or 250 Wh / no, travel time 2 hours, energy used by fridge 60 Wh that is the energy required to travel 387 meters or 1/4 mile.
You wouldn't notice if the fridge was on or off.
16:00 Song name plz. Shazam isn't working and I can't find it in the artist.io playlist.
Come with me by LIQWYD

Good thing you didn't have your wifey with you for camping out. That Porsche Experience water may have put you into limp mode ;)
funny how ppl see thing different. i like the center consol that big .
Good job !!!! 😉
Yo, what's up!!!
Are you using FSD on your road trips?
FSD is not implemented yet.
Bjorn, dooooo you think you could do a new road trip in a Model X 7-str soon? :)
(also if there is a recent-ish one i missed, sorry!)
No
17:00 Mr Sleepyhead!! :)
147W/hr is pretty damn efficient
damn now i'd like to be able to afford a model 3 :D
ayyy ayyy ayy whats good
@26:49 ''when i was a little girl'' the hell u mean man... dont tell me... plz bro
I can’t believe you drove for so many hours...hope you got a good amount of sleep...
Don't worry.
See getting the shaft isn’t always bad....not always😳 (edit 20:08)
Fantastic video Bjorn! When the Skoda Enyaq arrives, will you do a test on it ? It looks like a fantastic EV and looks very promising, and at what a AMAZING PRICE !! :) Have a nice day.
Bjørn will test basically every EV he can get his hands on. So at some point there will be enyaq Videos
Is the LED bar legal in Norway ?
It looks so awesome but it’s not legal here in Denmark. 😊🤷🏼♂️
Of course.
Bjørn Nyland Nice. What a great video !!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😊
Put the car on a tripod??
Camera. Not car. Camera. You need better speakers.
Bjørn Nyland no you said put the car on a tripod
23:24
@@bjornnyland Used my DT770 PRO. Decent headphones. Pretty sure you said you would put your car on a tripod :p
Bjørn, you don’t need to double-tap the button at the top right of the map to go to trip overview. Just tap once on the next navigation action at the top left of your navigation instructions. Tap once to show trip overview and tap once again to go back to the 3D view. Saves you two taps and you don’t need to reach so far out to the furthest spot on the map in the top right of the display.
Timestamp?
@@bjornnyland For example at 2:23, you reach to the top right corner of the map to tap the "map view" button in order to show the next stint of your trip. You have to tap twice. Instead, you could have tapped once on the "turn left after 30m to Nord-Østerdalsveien" at the top left of your map which would have given you the same result.
Have you ever tried the new Opel Corsa E
Is that a question
@@bjornnyland yes
and do you have a plan to try it in the future
Bjorn can you please post a video were you can find the best hotdogs in Norway? Shieeeet 😉👌
No
Are you going to reach Mo I Rana?

Bjørn Nyland 28:10
Ah, thanks. Agreed.
Not as fast as a fossil car but much faster than the polestar 2. Superchargers make all the difference. I only wish Tesla cars would be better built
Also better efficiency and faster charging.
dezz yes it’s true. Once again, I only wish that Tesla cars wouldn’t be so badly built. If they were, I wouldn’t mind to give Tesla my money. But it’s outrageous that they put out cars with so many issues.
Incorrect. It's actually as fast as a fossil car. I used to drive Oslo - Bodø in my diesel before. And during that trip, I would stop at least 2-3 times for some restroom break and food. And the food stops were at least 30-45 minutes long.
Watch this to understand more:
ruclips.net/video/pyOXdhX4m-A/видео.html
As for issues, I have driven 70k km over 1.5 years in my Model 3 and have only 2 minor issues. You hear about people having issues but you never hear about the hundreds of thousands others who don't have issues.
Bjørn, you arrived in Alvdal with 13% battery. What % did you start with when you left home? (80, 90, 100%?)
0:54
@@bjornnyland Appreciate the quick response. Watching part two now with GF. What would you say were the main contributing factors to starting with an almost full battery and ending up with 13% after traveling "only" 300km? We read a lot of claims that the model you drive should make about about 500km in one full charge. Doesn't add up. Thanks for a great show.
Motorway speeds and uphill. Simple physics. You should subscribe to my channel and you will know all about this ;)
@@bjornnyland We do subscribe to your channel. In fact, since a couple of years ago already. We've learned a lot, thank you. 😊 Sure, simple physics .. but as we're not quite there yet, living the EV lifestyle as you do, we're asking just to learn what specifically made things happen the way they did. We're seriously considering going electric. The data we had - average speed 95kmh, 11°C and 371m elevation - didn't sound too tough to a battery, or so we thought. Seems like we still have a lot to understand.
Isn’t the car driving in to the gas station a Polestar 2??? 1:42
Correct. Probably going to the 2x50 kW Fortum chargers.

Why you are didn't sleep over the supercharging time?
Because supercharging is too fast.
I bet the Model Y will not have the "clonk" while fast charging.
Already fixed on Model 3.
