'Don't let the simplicity of a tactic deprive it of value'......just perfect, I cannot add to that.
On the legal issues of carrying a pen that is marketed as a weapon disguised as a pen and all the possible 'fallout'....my preference is a highlighter/marker of sturdy design, or a magazine with a thick spine......if you have 5 mins to prepare; a sock knotted around pocket change (which legally constitutes a weapon, but hey, let's get out of trouble first), but I always wear a sturdy leather belt with a plain, heavy buckle.......it's not an instant draw but it can be formidable in range aggressively and close-in too. Apologies to Kevin if you have already addressed this, if not, I would love to see a 'belt defense (offence?) vid.

what model of tactical pen do you have? I've got the one by cold steel and it's friggin big... way too big for comfort imo.
