If a zombifying virus similar to rabies can evolve quick enough to spread faster from host to host, it'll go into any body fluid possible such as the blood stream and salivary glands to infect new hosts. Infected body fluids transfer faster inside an open wound, which is why bites cause a virus to spread quicker because of saliva entering the wound upon contact. Scratches won't necessarily be a problem unless an infected host has infected blood or saliva in their fingernails. If the scratch is from a newly infected person, it won't be an issue unless body fluids from another infected come in contact with the scratches and spread into your body. Most people freak out over a bite which causes their heart to race from adrenaline, making their blood pump faster, causing the virus to spread throughout their body quicker. The key is to not panic, staying calm delays the spread of the virus, but that limb that was bitten has to go before the virus spreads.

Oh boy zanime time also the old man could have an extremely strong immune system since he is an old homeless man you have to be strong to survive that long.
The way I see it, it was a new virus that was changing itself to optimize the incubation time for itself in humans. The first victim takes a while but because the virus now knows how to effectively turn humans, it quickly infects new victims.
@@jackychang9148 agree. Zombie viruses are often "living" things for me that are evolving and learning how to disable diffrent species imune systems....
After watching this multiple times since it came out I’ve theorized that the old man was patient 0 and was bitten by a rabid animal which had a special form of rabies of which rapidly evolves when it comes in contact with different species to spread further and faster which may explain why a frail old man took awhile to be affected because it was mutating to suit its host species
honestly i can get why she didn't take the time to close the doors when RUNNING zombies were chasing her. i mean would you be willing to take the risk of losing a few precious seconds to close a door when just as likely an infected coud come barraling through just before the door closes and now have the ease to catch you since you're now right there? instead of just keep running hoping to make more distance from you and them? especially when you're in a panic like her?
She had plenty of time to run up a flight of stairs.. so closing a few doors would have been fine, especially since they can't really break through doors. But in her defense, she was in an unfamiliar environment and not thinking straight.
Remember: she was running *upstair* , there was no escape there and the zombies would definitely cross whatever distance she made. She could at least delay the inevitable a bit more if she closed the doors.
It's a risk trade - you can throw away that second or two to close the door which may buy you anywhere from a few minutes to an indefinite amount of time to distance yourself. I can also understand the hesitation but the fact is that she had more than enough time to do it. The fact also is it didn't really make a difference in the end.
>homeless man bitten on neck >takes a long time to turn >turns and bites human >immediate hordes of zombies swarming streets I swear, every zombie movie does this, the outbreak is just instant
At 7:38 when you yell close the door behind you, you can actually see the doorknob, indicating that the door is, in fact, closed, and then in the next scene with the zombies rushing through it, it's still got the knob, indicating that it's closed lol so all these zombies, as well as herself, seem capable of just phasing through objects.
I say that the old man was the patient 0 and the virus just needed to adapt to humans so it took longer to effect him compared to other and some zombie bites are more potent compared to others based on how good the biter's immune system was or how close the teeth were to a major blood vessel giving us a good reason why they have different turning times. Second the first patient the old man must have been bit by a animal while taking a dump when he fought it off but it was sadly to late.
6:14 Wow Such Gaming: Close the door behind you. Later........ Wow Such Gaming: Close the door behind you ! ! ! Later: Does no one know how to close a door ? ? ?
Honestly I think an easy way to cover the issue of inconsistent turning rates is through the amount of times they're bit. If someone gets more bites, it's likely the disease will be transferred at a higher rate.
binge watching a lot of zombie movies has made me realize one thing. No one, no matter how confident they are, would survive a zombie out break. With how informed our world is about the zombie genre, we're going to find some asshole who will do their absolute best to keep their mouth shut about getting scratched by a zombie in fear of being executed. I'd be too scared to sleep cause you just know that they will turn in the middle of while everyone else is starting to sleep.

Also wasn’t it a rule in “train to busan” that the infected don’t attack or lose interest when they can’t see their prey. I didn’t see this aspect much in the prequel
Actually, in train to Busan, they did. When there's no stimulus, they went quiet, jittering and growling to themselves, but otherwise not moving or not by much. However, they were also on a train and so were trapped with the survivors sooo. Cos I recall them applying newspaper to cover the windows, and it worked until they heard noises

3:50 my biggest gripe with this scene was: why didn't the driver just... ya know... stop the ambulance? Ya know, hit the brakes? I felt frustrated quite a few times watching this movie. A lot of the problems the characters faced only really existed due to dogshit communication skills, and characters making stupid decisions. But some of that can be excused as there is undeniably a social commentary this movie is communicating as well (i.e. the classism in Korea). For example, how police refuse to listen to people because of their judgements of them due to their class. Some of it may be a bit far fetched (e.g. the first police officer thinking that it was a problem of all homeless people attacking, when he was stuck in a cell with other homeless people who were attacked by other homeless people who were clearly... unhealthy to say the least). However, with just about all zombie movies you have to watch them with the premise that the idea of zombies hadn't previously existed in their universe, and I actually can't immediately think of any examples in which this isn't the case
Yeah, it is very strange considering the fact zombie movies existed ever since 1940s, with iconic ones like Night of the Living Dead released as early as 1968. Not to mention books, board games and popular video games like Plants vs Zombies. Everyone in recent zombie movies was like "Omg the dead guy is still walking. I haven't seen anything like that before. What do we do?!"
Sweetbutter Cupcakes I personally prefer Train to Busan because of the emotion it evoked, but no other zombie movie has struck as much true fear into me as Dawn of the Dead. Both really good movies imo
You should’ve added a sin to the scene where the boy and “father” were trapped in the bathroom because the zombie was trying to get in without seeing them, since this is in the train to busan universe that means that this wouldn’t be possible since they stop attacking if they can’t see you
The only person i dont want to die was the guy helping the hye-sun female lead to cross the railing and she was dangling. This is realistic. I don’t like the female bcus she is pretty much useless in the entire film. Ob course , i would be too if a situation like this would broke out .

Oh boy zanime time also the old man could have an extremely strong immune system since he is an old homeless man you have to be strong to survive that long.
Maybe it was like the scratch, it wasn't much
The way I see it, it was a new virus that was changing itself to optimize the incubation time for itself in humans. The first victim takes a while but because the virus now knows how to effectively turn humans, it quickly infects new victims.
@@jackychang9148 and let's not forget the virus started infecting animals before humans, so in evolution terms, it was in training wheels
@@killian9314 Exactly. This is supported by the first scene in TtB with the deer.
@@jackychang9148 agree. Zombie viruses are often "living" things for me that are evolving and learning how to disable diffrent species imune systems....
Tbh, I'd rather just die than struggle and feel extra pain trying to survive when my death will come at some point.
After watching this multiple times since it came out I’ve theorized that the old man was patient 0 and was bitten by a rabid animal which had a special form of rabies of which rapidly evolves when it comes in contact with different species to spread further and faster which may explain why a frail old man took awhile to be affected because it was mutating to suit its host species
good theory!
Dang that was fast man
honestly i can get why she didn't take the time to close the doors when RUNNING zombies were chasing her. i mean would you be willing to take the risk of losing a few precious seconds to close a door when just as likely an infected coud come barraling through just before the door closes and now have the ease to catch you since you're now right there? instead of just keep running hoping to make more distance from you and them? especially when you're in a panic like her?
this logic is coming from the same cartoons that fall over when embarrassed.

4:26 it is possible as all korean men at the age of 18-22 should train as soldiers
Lol he missed the part that korea has mandatory conscription for males

Shay45 2-3 weeks a year
>homeless man bitten on neck
>takes a long time to turn
>turns and bites human
>immediate hordes of zombies swarming streets
I swear, every zombie movie does this, the outbreak is just instant
Virus adapts and mutates when infects the first victim, then its near 100% within contact
Every single virus does that

Honestly I think an easy way to cover the issue of inconsistent turning rates is through the amount of times they're bit. If someone gets more bites, it's likely the disease will be transferred at a higher rate.
i love how the parody of cinemasins is better than actual cinemasins

binge watching a lot of zombie movies has made me realize one thing.
The moral of the story is never trust people who do sex work, because you're the only person getting screwed

Train to Busan was brilliant, but for me Seoul Station fell short ... I think it was the animation primarily? But that twist about the girl's "father" was brilliant, did *not* see that coming!
Thanks for sinning another zombie-movie Wow 💙🐱💙
Also wasn’t it a rule in “train to busan” that the infected don’t attack or lose interest when they can’t see their prey. I didn’t see this aspect much in the prequel
Actually, in train to Busan, they did. When there's no stimulus, they went quiet, jittering and growling to themselves, but otherwise not moving or not by much. However, they were also on a train and so were trapped with the survivors sooo. Cos I recall them applying newspaper to cover the windows, and it worked until they heard noises

It's trash. they make dumb ass decisions like not closing doors, crying loud as fuck, and waiting around to let zombies see them.
Normal zombie movies oh this is happy and joyful wow sins it this one everyone dies wow omfg this is the best ending ever XD
I.. actually liked the ending.. it felt kinda right and a bit refreshing from those usual happy endings we always get
One of the cool things about this movie is that it’s animated you don’t really see that often in zombie movies

You should’ve added a sin to the scene where the boy and “father” were trapped in the bathroom because the zombie was trying to get in without seeing them, since this is in the train to busan universe that means that this wouldn’t be possible since they stop attacking if they can’t see you
