That was really helpful. I remember now, I gave my woodburner tool to the country vet because his quit heating up, he used it for cauterizing. It was hard to find that tool here.
Thank you so much! I can use this info in my tool shopping.

This bit of info may at first seem irrelevant as it comes from the motorcycle community. On some cycles, especially older ones, the wiring connections can overtime build up tarnish in the connections and cause over heating, sometimes to the point of melting the connectors. Some of those connectors are under the seat... So we use a product called Deoxit, its a dielectric gel that cleans and lubricates the connections. You could try putting a little bit on the tip contacts and sliding it in and out a few times to distribute the gel. It helps clean old contacts and connections. Give it a little time to work it's magic before using the pen. Then clean off the excess or it will dribble down the tip. Ebay or Amazon carries it. The older generations of dielectric gel don't clean contacts, it just keeps tarnish from forming.

Try doing an online search for Razertip spear point pyrography pen. There are several websites that sell them.

Great video but I'm still trying out. It takes a lot of practice, especially on hard gourds.

The two I most use is a spear tip and a shader.
