    Use two single cycle waveforms on two different tracks. Set the LFOs on both, and you have two oscillations that interact with each other in insane ways. I’m using this as a drone and ever so slowly changing the filter frequency of both tracks at different speeds. Just wow.

    Really grateful for this video. Recently bought a Digitakt, and the LFO has been the one thing that confused me somewhat so I haven't messed with it much. I had no idea it was so deep! Thanks so much for doing this, it's helped me a lot.

    • @RickyTinez
      @RickyTinez  6 лет назад +2

      its crazy the things it can do, start with a single sound and set it to filter. See how the LFO is affecting the filter then change the destination one by one, you'll then apply the way it was originally moving the filter to how its moving its new destination! Good way to learn hands on.

    Great tutorial as always! One of my favorite things to do is to LFO a tom's filter frequency per step and crank the resonance, closing it on a triggerless trig. Makes some really funky computer beep noises. Then pop a delay on one of the steps...makes for some cool spacey noises!

    Hello Ricky . Great videos. Very calming voice. Hope you are good.
    I always struggled with the free mode not being tempo syncable as it started at a different place everytime I stopped and played the track.. I realised that I needed to perimeter lock the 1st note to the lfo switch in the trig page. This way you can have lots of notes after that , all being affected acurately along the sequence. Maybe explore that ?

    Dude, your vids are super chill, thanks! Thinking about buying the Digitakt. I've been reading about some issues with syncing other hardware to the Digitakt clock. Stuff like glitches and unstable bpm. Did you ever have any issues?

    • @RickyTinez
      @RickyTinez  5 лет назад

      I haven't had any issues. But at the same time it's rare that I use it as my master clock. Sending notes out to things has been pretty spot on. But until you hear real solid timing with something like a multi-clock, you shouldn't notice a crazy difference

    • @JanDirkFranzen
      @JanDirkFranzen 5 лет назад +1

      @@RickyTinez Thanks for your message. Why would you not use Digitakt as a master clock? My goal is not to use my MacBook in my live setup and Digitakt has got it all inside, drums and sequence. Thought that would be enough if I hook it up to my Minitaur and play the rest live.

    hi, loved your tutorial, i learned a lot and quick. Still have one question: one of my favorite function is the sample slot destination, cause it changes your sounds kind of randomly. here is the question: how could we control this destination good enough to choose only a part of sounds that are in my sample slot? means: i just want my LFO hi hat changing between the 4 hi hat i put in my sample slots. not sure im clear. Anyway, cheers!!

    • @RickyTinez
      @RickyTinez  6 лет назад +2

      hmmm you might have to be pretty specific in terms of of how much depth is being sent to the destination (sample source im guessing) Also, what wave shape you're using. Maybe try a square wave (if it's in there) if not im sure the triangle wave will work, especially if the samples are right next to each other!

    • @mattwoodman3017
      @mattwoodman3017 Год назад

      I understand what you are saying. So, I used a square LFO. If the Hi Hat in the slot is lets say, 2 slots up,,then turn the LFO depth down just a little bit. Here is video from that obnoxious annoying guy WES from perfect circuit explaing what I mean. He talks about it ijn this video : ruclips.net/video/2amrA2tx658/видео.html

    It's a powerful LFO... I'm only saddened that there is only 1 per track. I tend to like to modulate multiple things and have used as many as 4 on a single sound before in other systems to achieve movement in the track.

    • @RickyTinez

      well since the digitakt only has one LFO it's destination would be to itself making it useless :( unless you mean parameter locking it's destination on each step that im not sure but would be absolutely insane.

    I can't remember if you are doing this as much in your newer videos, but you use the term "guys" a lot in your videos. I get this word is used to refer to "everyone" most often, but maybe you want to work on being more inclusive towards women who are casually left out of the music community often by us dudes being (usually unintentionally) less inclusive. Maybe just something you want to think about. Love your videos, thanks for all the knowledge you share. Definitely thinking of getting a Digitakt.
