He opted to run on his own merits and accomplishments and has proven his record.... Even in North Jersey, which is a whole different paradigm than rural So. Jersey, where he is from. If people want to know WHO is this Kim guy?? Look at the press coverage of the aftermath of Jan 6. Just hours after the House was declared safe and was rescheduling the evening's sessions, Andy Kim was filmed and photographed on his hands and knees cleaning up the mess that the MAGA rioters left behind. Someone from the Smithsonian had noticed Kim's acts and requested that he donate the suit that he was wearing that day so that it might one-day become an exhibit in that collection. Andy Kim is America's TRUE American.
I'm pretty sure he's going to prison so unless he runs for governor of his cell block I think his political career is over. I heard he's facing quite a sentence.
I wish the right-side-of-the-isle folks would demand their criminal candidate step down and not run. But I guess we can't legislate morality because the legislators have no morality to base it on!
How could they do that AFTER their convention? There is no time to get anyone else on the ballot in every state, is there? Or to raise campaign funds for another candidate. You know Trump wouldn’t release any of his funds even if it was allowed.

If it weren't for my dad wanting to ride the train to work(SEPTA), and the High property taxes in Jersey, I could have been one of Menedez's constituents, stuck with a corrupt senator. Thankfully, my senators are Bob Casey Jr. and John Fetterman.

NJ resident here. Gov Murphy tried to shoehorn his wife Tammy into that seat. When Kim won, Murphy wasn't happy, which is why he tried to get Tammy to take it on an interim basis. I haven't read anything from Kim about it. Yet. As usual, there are games being played behind the scenes that we may not ever find out about. Nothing ever changes. Sigh.
Menendez should have resigned after he was indicted. People talk about term limits, but what we need more than term limits is transparency and an informed, engaged electorate.Just term limits alone won't end the corruption. That will take legislation to eliminate unlimited amounts of money flowing into our government.

If Andy Kim is appointed to the Senate, his House seat becomes vacant. Then the Republican majority in the House goes up. They need a caretaker Senator so VP Harris can run for President and not have to be around to break ties in the Senate.

I don’t know any other names being tossed around atm but I definitely think Murphy’s wife should NOT be chosen. She can run for something else on her own merit some other time but I doubt she’d win anything. Maybe mayor of her town or congress in her district would be a good start.

The person basically has to simply follow Sen Cory Booker's lead. This is, effectively, a two month appointment with one task: vote on the FY2025 budget/continuing resolution.
