Thank you for your honesty! I had an aesthetic flat closure back in January. I am in Kentucky and had the very bestest breast surgeon who only does breast surgery! But she had a plastic close for her. She liked his work a lot! So it was all good! It was clearly not the plastic’s preference to do a flat closure! He worked so hard trying to convince me to get reconstructed! To which I repeated: “no thank you, I’m sure it’s great for those that want it, but I do not!”
The follow up with his nurse practitioner was worse when she whispered in my ear so my husband could not hear: “if you ever change your mind you can come back and get a reconstruction and remember it will be covered by your Medicare because of your diagnosis “ she acted like it was my husband who was talking me out of it! Ugh!! How obnoxious! But those days are over and I am very very happy with my decision to go flat. I actually love it! I am 72 and was happy to wave bye bye to my heavy uncomfortable double Ds! I got some Knitted Knockers made by wonderful volunteers. They work perfect and are smaller than a B cup when I feel like I need it. They fit into little bras and I slip it over my head and voila I can wear all kinds of clothes now that look good on me! Viva la flat and skinny!!

It sure reveals that we are kind of all stuck in our own frame of view right now--unable to see how others may want something different. What a crazy trend that is. But good for you for being clear and firm!!!

Thank you so much for informing us and showing your breasts recovery ❤ I am very grateful for you and your detailed information. I'm making a decision regarding prophylactic mastectomy due to BRCA1 positive and I am absolutely mortified and scared. Your information is so helpful ❤

Thank you for sharing. Never heard of goldilocks method. I will ask my surgeon if she know about it. The neckline of your shirt is very beautiful!

Hi, thank you for sharing your story. I had a goldilocks mastectomy done six days ago in the Netherlands. I have, and still are struggling with the swellings. I've got my drains out just two days after surgery that's pretty standard here from what I understood. I had no huge amount of fluids coming out, less than they normally experienced, they told me. I use ace bandages with padding underneath. At first, they wanted me to wear a bra with breast shaped fillings, but surprisingly, I got emotional and really didn't want to have 'breasts'. Also, the bra hurt and was pushing into my scarrs, so I took it off and asked for the ace bandages. But the swelling as specially under my arms but also where the dents are right under my armpits it just feels sore. In your video, you've mentioned another youtuber who's sharing tips on bandaging, but I can't find the link in your video description. Can you please share it with me? I have another question for you, but I'll ask you later because my arm is hurting after this amount of typing 😂 thank you❤

Oh I had mastectomy on both sides because of the BRCA2 gene

Thanks for catching my error. I'll add the link. Here it is: ruclips.net/video/RtdblyuEAeg/видео.htmlsi=aker74LBUo0YEO5z Yes! Two days is great and shows that your diet is really good--I also had my drains out soon and I credit my low sugar diet for that. Sugar can cause more swelling than salt.

Does your oncology surgeon make the Goldilocks or does that require a prescription plastic surgeon? Thank you very much for this series you have been a wonderful resource during a hard time .

Sometimes surgical oncologists will do them, but most often it's a plastic surgeon working side by side with them.

What do you take for after surgery constipation?

I didn’t have to take any opioids so I had no constipation, but as a nutritionist I recommend warm prune juice with a little butter mixed in. That’s the best and least toxic option I know.

I would try to drive and not fly. It sounds like you have an extreme case of lymphadema. I would go to your nearest NCI accredited cancer center rather than traveling cross country and waiting for a plastic surgeon. You are in a dire situation and it sounds like you need medical care. This video is about aesthetics and a non-urgent surgery on a breast that did not have cancer.

You are absolutely right... I have tried enough options here and none of them are ready to do the surgery... They all want Chemo money... We are driving out of here today...
