The most exciting thing about this is not having to change CDs every time you get to a different area.
And not freaking out when one of those 10 CDs got scratched
It's want even a different area it felt like every scene needed a disc swap

Holy hell they stayed true to the original designs. It's literally the exact same visual experience as the original except in full 3d. That's insane, I'm actually really impressed that a modern company managed to not mess up a full remake.

The Starry Expanse team worked on this for over a decade before Cyan finally legitimized them and we got this.

Just the sound alone brought me right back to playing the original. I'm in love already.

the music in riven scared me as a kid. and still creeps me out.

My dad used to pull out his old projector and me, my brothers and him would all sit in a dark room trying to figure out the puzzles in these games. Some of my favorite childhood memories with him.

Myst and Riven are still my benchmarks for great puzzle games. Not many others even come close. Super excited Riven is finally getting its much deserved remake!

OMG this soundtrack!! Flashback to one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life!
The sound of the rotating room, complete with the groaning of the stone/metal, immediately took me back to my first playthrough.
Played Riven for the first time last year and truly believe it’s one of the best games ever made. So excited for this!

The energy in this trailer is so mysterious.
Some people have been waiting nearly 30 years for this title looking like this. Almost everyone who played it imagined what it would be like if it was fully 3D.

This is essentially an “escape room”, but the room is an island broken into five pieces. Lots of exploring and puzzle solving.

There was an announcement about that. A fan project is rebuilding Fallout 2 in the Fallout 4 Engine. This real-time Riven release ALSO started out as a fan project before Cyan took the team under its wing and made it an official release.
Shivers needs a remake next.

Does anyone else feel the movement looks distractingly "floaty?" It's difficult to explain, but it feels more like a camera levitating through a room (which I'm aware it essentially is, but that's not the goal) as opposed to the perspective of a walking human being.

It came out 2 years ago on Steam. This is the sequel to the remake.
There are like 3 or 4 Myst remakes, at least two of which are in full 3D.
The most recent was Myst (2021) on PC and VR.

This game look boring as hell
it's a really fascinating and immersive game, actually, but slow paced and requires a lot of thinking. it's like falling into a mysterious alien world that feels incredibly real. not for everyone but thrilling for its intended audience.
