  • There's no better bargain available than the Costco rotisserie chicken! Priced at just 5 dollars, it's more affordable than most raw whole chicken that you'd need to prepare from scratch. So you're saving a bit of time and money!
In this video I show how to break down any whole chicken, dividing it into four servings, including 2 breasts and 2 leg/thigh combos. Plus, to make the most of the bird, you can save the carcass and bones to whip up a batch of nourishing chicken bone broth. Combined with all the protein from the chicken, this is a fantastic source of healthy, budget-friendly food!

Well, it's not half the cost. It's pretty close to even. I get a 5 pound whole chicken from Aldi's for $5 (or any of the bigger box chains on sale). I do add about a dollar in lemon, salt, and herbs when I brine it, so that's $6, but I have a five pound chicken, not a three pound chicken. But that doesn't make Costco a bad deal. Sometimes you don't want to spend the 15 minutes getting the chicken set in the brine, leaving it overnight, then drying it out in the fridge for two days on a rack to get crispy skin, then roasting for an hour and change, then dishes. Costco still has value, and your video shows how to extend even if you make it yourself.

You are absolutely correct about that! I will correct the description on the video. Thank you for keeping me honest :) For some reason I thought I saw chickens more expensive by me, but looking online they're not too bad.

@@brandon-best-cooks There are. Aldi's also sells organic chickens for $10 but you can always get them cheaper.
