Hey Dylan, thanks for being cool with sharing your knowledge. I think this info is what my friend needs he tore apart his tele and hasn’t been able to get the right parts so I told him to watch this.
Great vid I’m so n the process of searching for parts to build one I’ve got a body now need the rest was thinking of making my own neck but not sure if I should or just buy one
Another consideration when dropping USA wiring into an import is the possibility of routing out the cavity to accommodate the wider CTS pots. Also, when dropping the cover assembly into the cavity, you may want to insulate the switch with electric tape to prevent it from grounding into the cavity floor (I usually insulate the entire cavity with copper tape).
@DylanTalksTone Really??? Wow! I figured especially with single coils, it reduces exterior interference. That would save on buying more Cooper shielding. lol
My vague understanding is that many of the important guitars don't have enough room for American parts in the cavity so you either need to rout the cavity and/or do things like bend parts. Surprised you didn't touch on this. It would also be interesting to know if the bridge hole is a standard size on all imports and USA bridges or if the bridge needs to be moddded a bit sometimes to fit a pickup. It maybe beyond the scope of this video or even answering in the comments here but it would be cool if you could explain what bridges fit on various Tele bodies and which do not and how much modding would be necessary to say put a quality USA bridge on a Squier Bullet, Affinity, or Sonic. Thanks !!!
Hey Dilan, just learnt about your excellent existence today on a FB Tele page in a cheap vs expensive POT discussion (arguement actually.) My next guitar is likely to be a custom Telecaster type jobbie. I love the bridge Tele sound (no Strat can compete there) but Tele Hero I would like to most sound like is Keith Richards. I understand that he ran a PAF in the neck. Would a standard Tele with the 4 way in-series switch achieve a sound "quite close" to a PAF?
I've had a question for a long time that seems impossible to find an answer to: What if I want to use a broadcaster blend circuit to smooth out my bridge pickup in the back position instead of a tone knob, but the mud circuit being a waste of space what if I wanted the front position to be the neck wide open and the middle both pickups just like normal? Is this possible?
Trying to eliminate the Bridge buzz on my tele . If I upgrade wiring kit and or pickups will that help ? Looking for the tele twang but the buzzing is making practice miserable !
Question: I installed a bigsby b5 on my telecaster, and the strings rest on the bridge plate before resting on the bridge saddles. Don't have an angle grinder to channel out the bridge plate, any recommendations on super low profile tele bridge plates I could use? (strings touching the bridge plate before the saddles really affects the bigsby staying in tune. Already have roller string trees on the headstock 👍) thank you very much 🙌
Hi Dylan. Can you please do a video showing how you wire a resistor for a Tele bridge pickup to drop it down to 250K when you are using 500K pots for a neck position humbucker? Thanks.

I have a clear smoothy and DAF. They are very cool

Yeah… don’t do that. It doesn’t do anything and causes no end of problems

That doesn’t work well so I don’t recommend it
@@DylanTalksToneInteresting, thanks. Have you covered when you use audio or linear taper pots?
@@DylanTalksToneI think I found my answer in "5 Reasons to change your pots". Thanks anyways.
