LUCY HAD ALREADY WARNED THE HOSPITAL ABOUT HOW UNSAFE & WHAT A HEALTH RISK THE NEO NATAL UNIT WAS!
DOCTOR BREARY WAS AWARE OF THE SEWAGE LEAK IN 2012 BUT WHETHER HE MENTIONED IT TO THE MANAGEMENT OR IT WAS COVERED UP, DN'T KNOW!!
LUCY WAS MOVED TO ADMIN IN 2016 & THE SEWAGE LEAK FIXED WHICH GAVE THE MANAGEMENT THE OPPORTUNITY TO POINT AT LUCY & MAKE HER THE 'CULPPRIT'!!!

To blame this baby death factory on one person is ridiculous! I can't believe no doctors or board members have been held accountable.

Quite clearly they've employed Lucy into an already failing unit... It makes you wonder if she was being set up right from the beginning... Well done Mark great coverage

The courts and system will suppress any information they can ,they are not about to admit to their failings . At the same week she was convicted a man was released having served 17 years for a crime he did not commit a judge suppressed new evidence that could have freed him ten years earlier

Great video Mark. They said Lucy capitalised on very sick babies and took advantage of the unit being chaotic. I believe there was a very different connection - Lucy was often CALLED IN to cover when the sickest babies were on the unit and when it was chaotic (to cover staff sickness etc). The prosecution have seen a link, then twisted it - in my opinion.

    • @hopeisthething1965
      @hopeisthething1965  2 месяца назад +14

Absolutely. V much agree - she was needed the most, and without her more babies would have succumbed to that dysfunctional unit. She saved lives, I have no doubt - not least when a consultant (Gibbs) forgot to turn the baby monitor back on after turning it off.

I understand Lucy worked extra shifts on the unit. Why would extra shifts be needed, possibly because there were some very sick babies and not enough staff, which suggests Lucy was set up to fail. Lucy was a relatively junior nurse, she therefore lacked ability, again she was set up to fail. I would suggest that if Lucy is responsible for any deaths, at worst it would be manslaughter.

I'm just about to listen to this but what has struck me for a long time is that Lucy was referred to as one of the most senior, experience nurses. Although I do not doubt that she was a very good nurse, she was also very young and fairly newly qualified. It made me question the skill mix and why there were not more senior nurses within the team. That seems concerning to me.

I dare say Mark that the information from that retired neonatal nurse is truly explosive in its accurate analysis of Chester hospital. Any decent lawyers listening to this would be able to go into court and get the dodgy verdicts overturned. Always better getting info from the horses mouth 👌👌 Free Lucy Now 🙏🙏🙏😎

I have worked in the same kind of environment in a school and what happens is that when someone leaves or retires their job gets distributed between all the staff that is left , so you have to do your own job plus 10 - 15 % of the person who has left , and usually they dont replace them. But lets look on the bright side "THE LION STILL ROARS"

It comes from the police they wasted so many manhours on the enquiry that they can't admit" no case to answer" because they would be on the carpet with egg on their faces and no chance of promotion . There was a case years ago proves this there was a murder on a common of a young woman a man called Collin Stag was literally persecuted by the police they set every kind of trap trying to convict him even an undercover police woman it dragged on for 16 years he won over 700,000 thousand in compensation. This happens when police set out to prove some one guilty instead of establishing the truth .

I,ve left a few jobs as it was toxic, I,very known others who were good leave for the same reasons, I wonder if all the good ones leave, who's left behind......I know a lady who was a midwife, she quit and has never returned........ always this disconnect between management and workers.......

Exactly the same in mental health and has been for years - no-one listens to the nurses, and folk are afraid to whistle-blow as to the dearth of resources and skilled, experienced professionals, use of agency workers, for fear of.. scape-goating and gas-lighting...

Glad you're competing well with that other channel that just seems to pump bits of the prosecution transcript. Shamefully I did not take much notice of the case went it broke to the public a couple of years ago ..BUT! one thing I did notice was a Dr. who seemed to be on TV everywhere, loving it, and his " I still lose sleep at night thinking about it" blah blah stance which seemed like hammy overacting to me as he is a Doctor for heaven sake.

Those of us who have worked on the front line in the nhs know how often we are working in very vulnerable situations. Vulnerable for the staff and patients. To be short staffed was normal.
I recall regularly working a night shift, staff to patient ratio 1:15 I recall regularly being the only nurse on the ward with not even having the help of a healthcare assistant.
I recall one night shift where as the only nurse on duty, when I was leaving two auditors arrived to audit my paperwork. One nurse, two auditors, that says a lot about our healthcare system.
Why did I leave after 32yrs, several reasons, but one in particular. A patient on my unit died, she was neglected, there is no doubt about that, there were many reasons which led to the death, one person wasn’t responsible, as is often the case when something goes wrong, but I watched how my colleagues were treated over this incident, and I came to the conclusion it was time to leave before the same happened on my watch.

Unlike those who blindly believe Lucy is guilty. We look at all of the facts here. More and more people are coming to the conclusion that she's innocent. This phenomenon usually happens over time when the evidence becomes clearer.

The article demonstrates the unit was unsafe for years . The straw that broke was the change from level one to level 2.
