Alright, to explain the story of Zato-1 a bit. He is an assassin, who made a contract with a forbidden beast to grant him the ability to control shadows, at the cost of his eyesight. However, he was killed and Eddie (the shadow demon that he is using to fight in these clips) proceeded to take over and puppet his body. Course, he later got revived but he was left without his emotions. Although, whenever he is by Millia Rage, he feels an emotion, but he doesn't know which one, he just knows he feels... something. There is a lot more to it than all that, and some details I am leaving out/forgetting. But that is generally the main gist of it.
In essence, it's the sad story of a very bad guy who met someone worse than him and is now his slave. I like how the song manages to create a feeling similar to floating in something very deep and dark.
Ok so Zato's lore is complicated First, he was part of the Assassin's guild, and he made a pact with a demon of some sort (called Eddy) to control it in exchange of sacrificing his ability to see Back then he was a bit of a psychopath, had a "girlfriend" that he stockholmed (Milia), and was basically a big asshole Then he was killed by Milia, Eddy tried to take control of his body for a while (because now they can't be separated so Eddy kinda needs him as much as he needs Eddy), and other random stuff happened Then he was revived, but without any emotion. Which mean he also didn't feel pleasure from torturing people anymore. So he had the realization that what he did before is kind of evil, and being evil is not nice, so he's trying to fix his mistakes and repair the damage he caused. Also for some reason he's able to feel something (?) when near Milia, so now he tries to help her And also after being revived, he and Eddy became friends (don't ask me how they were able to live tghether while hating each other before)
You could say he make contract to a shadow demon, lost everything because of that and he want to go back to undo his mistake haha. Though the lore is actually more deep than that. But that what's I got when hear the song at the first time without knowing context of Guilty Gear.

Fun fact, his name is a reference to the Japanese film Zatoichi (ichi is 1 in Japanese, hence his name Zato=1) which is about a blind swordsman.
It'ss actually a double pun because Zato=1 can be read as the engrish version of "that one"
