My kids went to school 20 min away from the Santa Fe, TX shootings. I remember picking them up and not wanting to let them go. People are quick to say leave and find somewhere else to live and it's not that easy. KIDS DO NOT DESERVE THIS! I'm so sick of seeing children be hurt and scared to go to school. I live in Germany now due to military and I have decided to stay here and my kids are thriving and no longer afraid to go to school. My heart goes out to the families who lost a loved one in this tragedy and all of the previous ones as well. We need to do better.

Crying along with you guys- there was a mass shooting at the university I go to, and sometimes I feel guilty being alive and getting a degree, while other college kids died getting the same education I am trying to get. Not fair and I agree there are so many things to be done about it. Thank you for putting the message out there because it is something that NEEDS to be shared and talked about more.

Definitely agree its hard to move, I just have to offer a different perspective. I was born in the UK, now live in Canada. My 2 nieces at 6&4 years old were killed by a drunk driver. My sister blames herself, and will continue to blame herself for the rest of her life. 'Why didn't I stop for the ice cream they wanted? Why didn't I take the other way home?'. When you lose a child it's the worst type of grief. There's nothing worse. Losing parents, grandparents, partners, etc is extremely hard. Losing your child is a million times harder. So yes, there are steps to take to move. But you can make a living doing anything, you can't bring a child back. I have a different perspective because of my experience, and just wanted to share. The world will continue to look on in horror as US politicians sacrifice American children. RIP sweet babies 💔

It is so unbelievably heartbreaking that this has happened yet again in the US, & as a Brit I will never understand the gun culture over there. I'm so glad you guys brought up the shooting and are talking about it openly because a lot of people are scared to talk about it or want to brush it off. I just don't get how people can see all this happening DAILY and not want to try to do something to help or be angry about the fact that the people that can do something aren't working to fix this.
Of course people are considering leaving the US, people are considering taking their children out of school, but this is not something that everyone has the means to do.
You can be on the "other side" of this all you want, but EVERYONE has to realize that what we are doing right now (aka nothing) is not fixing anything! Nothing will change if we don't at least try.
Everyone needs to get out and vote. Everyone needs to take a look at the people in power who are doing nothing to change things and decide if those are really the people they want in power.
This is a big reason why I refuse to have children. I can't put them through this.

He doesn't need safety drills on active shooters, he doesn't need a backpack that can protect him from bullets, his teachers don't need to keep a gun in their desk. It's so heartbreaking that this is still a thing, that the people in charge aren't seeing these little babies dying and thinking enough is enough. What would it take? One of their babies to get shot and murdered?

People should be able to live where they want and build a life with their children. Violence is everywhere but Josh you are right, mass school shootings is a culture and it needs to end. What do we do, I’m looking at my daughter with tears in my eyes. The worst pain a human could ever experience is losing a child.. Something MUST be done. America the beautiful and land of the free, in reality has turned into a dark and scary place where people are free to own weapons that are simply meant to kill. Our mental health crisis is only going to get worse, now as parents we are going to suffer anxiety and mental health issues simply by sending our children to school. Please if you find any resources that we can all join in on to ACT please share because I’m at a hopeless and complete loss. 💔💔💔

French girl here living in the UK, just wanted to say that I am sorry and that on this side of the pond when we hear about mass shootings in America, especially in schools, it hurts too. We talk about it and can't really understand why this keeps happening over and over and over again and NOTHING is done to put an end to this. Whether it's banning guns or investing in mental health, i don't know, but there's so much to do. I remember seeing a tweet from an American after Uvalde asking if people from foreign countries were consciously deciding NOT to travel to the US because of the gun violence. My personal opinion, especially as a woman of colour, is ABSOLUTELY. Every time I'm in the US I am very much aware that any time I step outside, that could be it. How crazy is that? This country needs more than thoughts and prayers (grandson put it better than that in his song) it needs action. Once and for all.

It’s not easy. I couldn’t even imagine sending my kiddo to school in the US now. I homeschool for other reasons and my kiddo has more of a social life now than she did when in school. Extracurricular activities, lots of field trips with other homeschool families, volunteering… there are so many more ways to get the socialization besides traditional school. Homeschool co-ops, pods, meet ups… it’s quite easy to homeschool once you have figured out what works for your family. With all the traveling your family does, there are so many opportunities to turn those trips into something educational whether it be history lessons, geography, art museums, theatre… the list is endless.

And the angering part of it all is that people excuse guns saying it’s constitutional, but the guns that are killing all these children and people didn’t even exist when it was written, the guns they were writing about were ones that held a single bullet that took like 5 minutes to reload… in the UK it’s like saying a knife is the same as spoon.

Im not saying that mental health issue is not important, in fact its a serious problem that needs to be addressed and hope to be able to help those who struggle. But based on facts, only in America that mass shootings at school happen just like a regular thing wether mental health is the factor or not. Its very sad that school shootings happen so so often. Its hard for all of us sending our kids to school in hope they will experience school to the fullest like we did back then, but now we send them with so much worry and fear. Homeschooling might be the answer for some but not for all parents. Really hope that theres an end to this, for the sake of our kids and the rest of our future generations. This is so unfair :(

I also live in Nashville and have a 4 year old. Let’s do something. I know God is good but praying for these souls is not enough and I do not feel like I am doing enough. What else can we do to protect our children and our neighbors?

Your kids will NOT be deprived of socialization if you homeschool unless you the parents don’t get involved with other homeschool meetups. With social media though, there’s zero excuse for anyone to not be involved with local homeschool groups.
This week alone we went on 2 field trips, one to to the fire station with a homeschool group of over 40 people, and another to an ice cream shop where they showed us how they made their ice cream with nitrogen. Then we went to the park every day with some homeschool friends except today because it was cold and windy lol
Next week we are going to the homeschool open gymnastics that’s only $5 per kid to meet up with some friends, Friday with have a geography fair with a homeschool group where my son picked Italy and other kids picked different states/countries. I’m involved in 3 different homeschool groups on Facebook where there is ALWAYS something going on, plus parks exists so if there isn’t a field trip that day we go to the park and meet friends.
I am socially awkward and shy so I have a hard time getting the motivation to go to these things but I do it anyway because my kids obviously need to be around other children.
I truly feel like public school kids are barely socialized anyway, they have a short period of recess and lunch period is so short that they have to shove all their food into their mouths at once. If you talk to a friend in class, you’re yelled at, if you struggle with any type of learning disability you are bullied, you are forced to learn at the same rate as everyone else, and judged based off of your grades.
I guarantee if you type in your area followed by “homeschoolers” on Facebook, you will find many, many groups.

Great video. As a parent I just don’t understand why you would even want to raise your kids in the US if you have other options (Canada & the UK). My family and I are about to relocate to Alberta because enough is enough.

There are no words really. I don't know what to say. I live in Toronto and gun violence is up in high schools but no mass shootings, but I'm sure people see the news and get ideas so who knows what might happen. It's another pandemic. People buy guns - they only need one. I'm so sorry for the kids and adults who continue to lose their lives, and obviously it is extremely hard when it happens so close to home. So many mixed emotions in the shock of it all. I wonder how many people will refuse to send their kids to school - many wont have that option. Big hugs to you, and your community, and there is no choice while processing this nightmare but to continue doing what you do, loving your kids and each other, and fighting the good fight. And yes, what the hell are 'they' waiting for? How many more people have to die! They don't seem to be able to answer that question 😕 😢

Hi, Shenae and Happy Sunday!😊😊😊😊😊😎☀💙💙💙💙💙🌷💖💖💖💖💖🎇👍. I hope you had fun on the photoshoot with your two beautiful kids. They're so cute!😍😍. Also, in 2005, my best friend, Erica talks about school shootings. This was the scariest situation that I've ever seen. They close the classroom door, locked it and hide their desks. And in 2006, my best friend got shot on her first day of college. Her name was Asia and...she was my best friend.😢😢.

As a french person, i cant possibly understand the "love" americans have for guns... second amendment i get it, but some things are more important, like the safety of your kids, laws can be changed, lives cannot be brought back.... and hearing about a bullet proof backpack just .... wow .... i have no words.... crazy ...

It is happening here in 🇨🇦 especially Toronto. But it’s happens less frequently. It is horrible that guns even exist and people use them to harm others. There is so much pain and suffering and we need more resources and kindness and love for one another. We are all humans and there is no room for hate. My heart bleeds for these families and those who are left to make sense of it. May there be more supports and love that gets injected into this world.

Thank you for speaking about it. I also feel helpless and I have two kids around same age as your babies. It’s heartbreaking. It infuriates me how much people have been brainwashed by media that it’s not the guns. It’s common sense. No other weapon could cause the amount of loss of life like a machine gun would.

Thank you for reminding folks that their vote matters. Voting will be the number one action in moving forward to change this American problem of mass school shootings. I am a Canadian living in California and now dual citizenship allows me to vote here. In 2022, over 1 million immigrants became naturalized citizens - and they are all voting in 2024. I haven’t been watching your channel for very long, but I am sending you all love, light, and strength to guide your children through these awful and traumatic moments. 💕

As a Canadian mom I've often said idk how anyone in the US is able to send their kids to school. I know they have no choice but that choice would be paralyzing to me. After a school shooting in the US I'm scared to send them to school and I'm 4 hours north of Toronto.... I hope change happens in the US something needs to happen. Xo

I have no kids but my sister is a .school teacher and I worry every day if something like this will happen to her. We need stricter guidelines when purchasing guns, they are way yo accessible. I hate to say it but I feel nothing is ever going to happen until a politician's child is either hurt or in a school shooting. This will make someone who can create change do something. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR THAT TO HAPPEN! I am willing to try and create change in any way possible. This is not just a mental health issue we have to get control if the type of guns being sold and to who.

As a Brit it is so hard to grasp the American obsession with guns, it’s not normal to be able to buy a bulletproof backpack let alone select what weapons you want to stop. I cannot comprehend it, I feel so much pain for parents sending their kids to school in the US, as Josh will know it’s not something that we here in the UK ever have to worry about. I send my prayers to everyone affected, no idea what we can do across the pond but happy to help any way I can. God rest all their gentle souls ❤

I have 2 young boys and can't even imagine. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like it will change anything..... Ps: I love NYC my sister and kids live there and they still wouldn't leave as they built their lives there x

Thank you so much for speaking up about this uniquely American problem. I’m very glad your sweet Bowie is ok. The Sandy Hook children would be the same age as my son if they hadn’t been killed. We have had two attempts at school shootings in my son’s district in the last year. I live in West Virginia where gun laws are also very permissive so I want change before it’s too late. I post a lot on Facebook but most people around here are either pro gun or they have just become desensitized. I am going to get more involved with local groups to see how I can make a difference. God bless you and your family!

So much change needs to happen and yet nobody ever makes the changes. Before columbine happened, I wrote to my senator when I was 14 and asked for better gun control. He did write me back and said guns aren’t the problem, people are. Yes, people and mental health are the problem, but guns escalate it to these level of killings. No matter if you own guns etc, we should all agree that the protection and safety of our babies should override everything else❤❤❤❤

People are the problem but America is the only country where the mentally I’ll or mega angry can get hold of assault rifles and kill people. We all have people with mental health issues but here in the UK they cannot get hold of guns. Your senator needs to get his head out of the sand

Let’s do this together. I live in Idaho and my granddaughter was at the Boise Towne Square Mall when the mass shooting happened there. Thank God she is ok but she is petrified to go to the mall. She was 17 at the time and is now 19 in college up in the area where the students were murdered. Whatever we need to do lets figure it out.
