Let me get this straight. The only flaw is during a refresh they didn’t make the third row larger? How will soccer moms ever survive?

You can’t change the third row during a refresh. That would require a complete overhaul of the frame and chassis. You will need to wait until the ‘29, ‘30 all-new Explorer.

Right? He explained it’s because it’s rear wheel drive. Which is superior in this class, to be honest. It’s not a flaw. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I love how the "Platinum" badge on the seat is crooked. 0:32

Im 5’10” and with the driver seat adjusted to my position, i fit perfectly and very comfortably on the second and third row, the third row is as good as it can be, but i fit well with all the other seats adjusted to my height

The powertrain is different, it's the new 2.3 MPC engine from the mustang which now has port and direct injection. But what do I know

I really like the new center dash and screen. The integrated B&O speaker "bar" looks promising! I am NOT a fan of capacitive touch buttons however. I'm glad they seem to work though.

is the water pump still internal so when it leaks it takes out the entire engine?

I thought that was the N/A 3.5 and 3.7 that were used in the Edge/Mazda CX-9/Mazda 6 in the 2010s.

The water pump was never internal on the 2.3 and 3.0

That's the 2018 version of the 2.3. This line doesn't have those issues.

Good review but "cross over family style suv"? Come on :) Call it right..."Daily driver". I'm 6' but don't feel I'm sitting on top...guessing you're a bit taller than me. Third row is tighter and seats 2 with the optional buckets but the standard bench will seat 3. Good description of the interior color - it is nice but personally I like the Onyx. The touchscreen is faster, more ram, etc. full Apple/Android Auto support but I agree, I like the analog HVAC controls. It supports video calls as well - but safety features disable this when in motion. Blue Cruise, $700/yr. if you subscribe while in the trial. $800/yr. if you opt-in after the trial. In the northeast? may not be so useful with snow-covered roads. The default lane assist is sufficient. I wouldn't say Platinum is the top-line trim level. It has the luxury features whereas the ST includes performance features as standard. The base price ST is higher than that of the Platinum. I suspect you could say they are both equally the top line trim levels together.

This sounds awesome. I’m not looking for a minivan so a good driving, high tech suv works for me. The minivan set can have the palisade. My niece in law (29) recently expressed her disinterest in car based suv’s like the palisade/vw or as she called it, mom mobiles. She wants a rugged truck based suv rather than a pretender. I want a driver like the explorer or Mazda cx70/90
