  • Cinematic lighting. Sometimes simple, sometimes complex. One key to creating cinematic lighting is to look at what the room is already doing, and motivate your light from there. Sometimes natural light looks good, and you can enhance it a little bit. The aputure 300d is a great, versatile, and affordable light. The aputure spotlight mount is also a must have!

I love returning to old videos with new knowledge to rediscover them for myself. I remember watching them half a year ago and thinking that I understood something, but in fact it turned out that I didn’t understand anything then lol. I feel like sometimes without tons of podcast from Wandering DP this type of info is simply inaccessible to the brain. Or i am just slow.

Sometimes getting hands on with it helps a lot. That is how you can really remember what works and doesn’t work. And testing.

As someone working both in G&E on commercial sets, and as a DP in my own smaller passion projects / spec ads / short films - I cannot tell you how much I value this content. Not only is it the educational aspect of it (which is tremendous, both for newbies and pros alike) but also the fact that you leave in your thought process. The "why" is often forgotten with lighting and it's especially cool seeing you think through what the light is doing and why it's doing that, and if we like that or not, pros and cons, etc. Big fan, long time sub, very rarely comment but this stuff is so top notch I had to shown some appreciation.

Honestly, as someone who's trying everyday to become a filmmaker myself on a low budget, its channels like yours, where I always get the feeling of finding a hidden treasure. Especially nowadays on RUclips it's really hard to find someone like you. I can't understand why your not more recognized but at the same time I'm glad that this still is somewhat of a hidden treasure for me and other people who dive into this topic.

Literally uploading a video now testing some shots lighting through windows with the Forza 500. Traded in my tungsten lamps for it, now all I have is that and a few 30w Quasar tubes. Adding ambient fill is a pain at the moment. Just dropped a $20 ball! Goodluck on the film man, I'm looking forward to see it come together.

Depending on the contents of the course 400 isn’t that much if you get the value back. Although you might cast a wider net with a discount for a few days and still make your money back.
