    Finally somebody that shows how to adjust the tank gauges!! Thank you,,,

    Wish you'd went through the shut down as well, I've heard of some kind of gas that can get trapped in the copper tube that comes out of the tank shut off, from there before the setting knobs and have a flash back, lots of videos but nobody seems to go from the beginning to the end especially as dangerous as this can possibly be, thanks for the time and instructions up to the point you stopped, God bless

    Scott thank you after years of not being around a torch i came across one and after going over it and using it for a couple days the little line stuck out to only open the acetylene enough to work so you can shut off quickly in an emergency sure enough the acetylene hose ruptured about 6 in from the valve and it did catch fire not quite sure how but i was able to shut it down quick and not watch the shop burn down. Thanks again.!

    I definitely want to get an oxygen acetylene torch kit. It will go well with my everlast plasma cutter.

    I've mainly used my powerplasma cutter for cutting metal but a friend of mine says that learning how to use an oxy-fuel torch can be useful.

    • @tonyb7748
      @tonyb7748 4 года назад

      Absolutely! Welding with gas is something of an art and preheating or bending steel is a big plus. Also, what happens when the plasma machine goes down or a power outage occurs? The oxy acetylene or oxy propane /propylene setup is essential. Hell it can be used to gouge , weld, preheat, defrost, harden or descale, scarf, or simply be on standby.

    Seems like 1/2 folks say oxygen off first, other 1/2 say acetylene off first. I suppose a tutorial on "proper use" of oxygen/acetylene torch, might as well let us know how to properly use it.... But What do I know Im just a Doctor.

      in general it doesn't matter which goes off first, as long as the other goes off afterwards. Personally I cut acetylene first so I don't have any more of the soot or fuel floating off across the shop to get sparked by someone else's work or staining up the ceiling, but that's just me being cautious, and is likely not a realistic situation if you have shop fans on like your supposed to. its a matter of personal preference.

      If you are using a torch don't worry about it you are probably not in a medical setting and someone next to you is using a grinder in a tank of mineral spirits anyway so death is just an odd you roll with.

    • @alexaronow9316
      @alexaronow9316 2 года назад

      Oxygen does go off first always. If you turn acetylene off first, you will hear a loud pop every single time. If anyone ever tells you that loud pop is suppose to happen and that it's perfectly normal, I would stop seeking advice from that person sooner than later.

    One should open the oxygen sloowly, the first half turn or 3/4 turn should be slowly turned and when the gauge has reached full pressure, open it all the way. If not you run the risk of small particulates catching fire inside the regulator and well, that wouldn't be nice...

    I'm using oxy acetalyne to melt silver and gold but I noticed a black sut that was coming off the acetalyne. should I use less acetalyne and more oxygen?

    • @comrade-uj5iy

      Turn up the acetylene first and then turn up the oxygen, until you have a neutral flame.

    Does the torch slide on the metal? Or do you hover over

    so uh, I didn't have a pair of shades so I used this device that I 'found' that's meant for vision impaired people and it basically just acts like a camera on your face. So in otherwords you see everything in a digital medium. Not really sure why they don't just do this in the first place, it makes the whole shade tiers thing obsolete when you take the risk factor out completely because you can't get blinded by a screen.

    In another video the acetylene was turned off first. i see you turned oxy off first. what scenario causes explosion?

    • @sumilidero
      @sumilidero 7 лет назад +2

      When you turn off acethylene first you can often hear a 'shot' thats a flashback, worse case, mostly when shutting down heating torch, for cutting setup ain't that bad but still not good :P

    • @eatonasher3398
      @eatonasher3398 7 лет назад +12

      Think about it: Which do you want to run out first? The fuel? Or the flame? If the flame runs out, and the fuel is still coming out, you can cause an explosion. If you cut the fuel off (Acetylene) first, then the flame will stop because it can't continue any longer.
      Acetylene: First on, first off. ALWAYS.

    • @sumilidero
      @sumilidero 7 лет назад

      looks prtty simple but consider burning speeds, pressure drops while turning off acethylene, mixture ratio and so on

    • @justblast4111
      @justblast4111 6 лет назад +4

      Wrong,shut off oxy first. The acetylene will keep burning,then you can shut off acetylene.

    • @comrade-uj5iy
      @comrade-uj5iy 4 года назад +3

      @@eatonasher3398 WRONG!!!! Stay away from oxy acetylene for your own safety. Acetylene on first, off last. Unless you use a rose bud tip in which case you'll get a flashback. Your comment could literally kill someone. Get it removed!!!

      That is because they are built in on that particular torch body. (Right above the gas valves.) And yes there are TWO of them required. One for the acetylene side and one for the oxygen side as well.
