Judy, I watched the episode when Jason sang Lorena to grandpa when grandma was in the hospital. I couldn't stop crying! My grandfather was without my grandma after she had a stroke. He was much like grandpa Walton. Advice for us 12 grandkids. This was in the 60's til he passed in 1984. He was a great man. His 4 sons went off to war and they all came back. My dad in ww2 and his twin also in ww2. My dad in the army was in the battle of the bulge and his twin in the navy. I'm crying now thinking of them. They passed away in their 90's. I love your show Judy! Please keep showing us your memories!

Happy Birthday Jon! A goofy story - My 3 older sisters and I went to see the The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band and the Three Little Pegs which was the opening cartoon. I was about 4 and once I saw the Three LIttle Pigs, I was done and wanted to go home. My sisters told me that we are staying for the movie. I only liked cartoons and didn't was to see real people in a movie, so I turned around and buried my head into the theater seat until the movie was over. I was such a little brat! I have since seen the movie and loved it and was happy that Jon was in it!

Happy Birthday, Jon I always felt that you had a warmth and kindness that showed in your character. My family and I always looked forward to your musical performances on the show. I saw a picture of Jon accompanying Ellen to the Emmy Awards I heard him say in an interview that Ellen was a surrogate grandmother as his own were deceased. My favorite episode was Tbe Conscience that still resonates today.

I was watching the episode The Threshold today, and I noticed when Jim Bob is on top of Godsey's store wiring the antenna, you can see the Walton house right behind him. It is a lot closer than I thought. Happy Birthday Jon, I really enjoy your work over the years.

One more honourable mention of Jon Walmsley's extensive talent,both as a musician and an actor, and also very early on in the series, was his performance in 'The Book' . Although the focus was not on Jason,his sensitive,reserved, and heartfelt character, was truly brought to life by Jon Walmsley! I will never forget the look on his face while playing with Bobby Biggolo at The Dew Drop Inn (at the end of the episode) and looking over at John Boy,smiling,and evoking a genuine smile from him. His ability to understand his brother and display warmth at that moment,was unparalleled.
A fitting birthday tribute to Jon Walmsley. Jason was always the sensitive type and I loved the storylines around him. Right from seasn one and The Hunt episode where he expresses a desire to go hunting and is rebuked by John, then Johnboy says he could take his place the following year and Jason says "I don't want to take your place Johnboy, I just want a place of my own". Clearly somebody who has deep feelings. A very Happy Birthday to Jon a very talented cast member. Thank you Judy as always, I always watch your content with a smile on my face except where there's any sad news. Best wishes to you from your waltonian superfan in a cool England😉

Birthday blessings to Jon! Jason's/Jon's playing the Harmonica in the opening scenes of The Homecoming caught my ear for all things Bluegrass Music! The episodes with Merle Haggard The Comeback is probably my favorite. And, The Gift! I love the scene at sunset high up on the mountain with Jason's silhouette playing the Recorder his friend made for him! A very sad episode, but boy ~ the acting chops of everyone involved are fantastic! How anyone plays a Recorder is beyond me!! We had to give it a try in our Music for Elementary Teachers college class! Even though I read music and play some piano, the sound from the recorder sounded like a dying bird! Toni was so pretty and talented, as well as humorous! That was a smart move the producers made to give "sensitive" story lines to Jason in Richard Thomas's departure. I loved the scene when the boys are squabbling in the bathroom and John Boy says to Jason something like, "Are you going to let these kids get away with this or are you going to take charge while I'm off to college or whatever the situation was. Jason stepped up to the plate. Such lovely people! Bless Walton's everywhere! ❤

Loved all the Jason music episodes, but especially the class reunion of John sr. Jason is in the background with his band. Really good episode.
One of the Walton's great strengths was incorporating some of the actor's real life interests and talents into their characters. Jon with his music. Will with his love of nature and growing things. John Walton running for local office as Ralph did. I think it really made their characters more lifelike and three dimensional. Jon always seemed to come alive when he was playing and that came through in his portrayal of Jason.

Hi Judy! Wow! I did not know he was the voice of Christopher Robin! Multi-talented...to say the least! You all are! I love learning from your videos. Thank you for sharing! Oh! I almost forgot to ask! Did Jon ever play with the Pirate Band in front of the POTC ride? I heard someone say that once. Anyway...Happy Birthday Jon!
Jon did play for a couple of different bands at Disneyland. He played in New Orleans square with a Dixie band and also I believe in a country jamboree band.
Thank you for sharing memories of the lovely and talented Jon Walmsley. The episodes that featured Jason are some of my favorites, in particular The Gift, which gave Jon an opportunity to play Jason with more emotional depth than was usually needed. A very happy, happy birthday to Jon!

Loved his interactions with Ellen Corby and how the Baldwin Sisters took a shine to him, but in that Ron Howard episode where Will Geer says at the end "Goodnight Jason... you're a good boy" whew--brings tears to my eyes. Happy Birthday Jon. My grandfather was always asked to recite in class, back around 1910, because of his English brogue. He came to America at age 9. He lost it by the time I was little in the early-1970s. I loved your acting and singing.

The Conscience was one of my favs too. I liked the sorry line The Choice when Jason was realizing he wanted to have a career in music. Another favorite of mine was The Christmas Carol and Jason’s story line was giving up music but realized how much in those hard times it was needed and he wrote the song. Love the last scene when they all sang it. Also enjoyed The Book and how Jason had something happening great for him but didn’t rain on JohnBoy’s parade and was loving to mama when she found out and felt so bad for focusing on John boy. I have two favorite scenes with Jon and Michael(Jason and mama). One is Home Front when mama has come home and she was setting the table and a place for Jason hoping he would come home and lie and behold he does. Has she went out to the porch and waves to him as he is walking down the road in his uniform and bag over his shoulder and she runs to him. The other scene I love is The Parting when mama is going away because she is sick and the kids are saying goodbye. Jason goes to hug and she says Oh Jason and they hug. The hug is so strong and loving. Always enjoyed when Jon would sing and play instruments on the show.I love the CD you all did and play it so much during the holidays. It chokes me up every time. Wish he would do another one with all of you. Mama Walton and all the children. Wish you all did a cd with the music of that time. The scene when grandpa and the children all went up to the mountain for John and Olivia’s anniversary and you were all singing together at the gazebo… loved it.
