Wow. Thank you. I've wanted a row of Annabelle hydrangeas; now all I have to do is buy ONE.
Pretty much. When I started my landscaping I bought 3 plants (at 50% off at HD), split those into 5 more over a couple years, then split one of those into those 3 in 2020 now I have even more LOL it takes time but its a fun rewarding process. Good luck!
Your garden is not only beautiful, but it is a place of serenity. How lovely it would be to sit on the bench, sipping lemonade and looking at the wonderful surrounding areas.
Yes Ann!!
Your garden is so lovely and it shows all your hard work❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Your hydrangea hedge will look lovely!
I trimmed all blooms off my hydrangeas after I bought them, thinking I was doing the best thing well a few of them ended up getting cane bores. Its been hard they havent come fully back after having to cut off the affected branches and Im not sure I got all the cane bores. I never knew that was a thing but I wont be cutting off anymore blooms when I buy a new plant. Your gardens make me so happy and gives me hope for my own. Thank you for sharing, the good and bad in gardening. I wish I had your soil its beautiful.
You always teach me new ways to grow in my garden. You are such a creative gardener and a calming person.
Thanks Betty!
You saved yourself lots of money dividing your plants. I would have been terrified to do that but it’s a great way to stretch your plants & save money. Great job ,everything looks great & I love your lion king hair 😂. Have a great day 🇺🇸😊🐝
Thanks Margie!
You sound like me. Where there’s soil there needs to be plants🌺💚🙃
Jes, you did an awesome job. I would love to see what it looks like now. My goal is to do something similar in my back yard. I fell in love with Annabelle Hydrangeas last year. I have a couple in my shade garden. They are so pretty this year. Also, I love white gardens (Moon). I am in zone 8/North Carolina. Happy Gardening!
Jes, I was so worried that you would run into some poison ivy! Thank God you didn't. Great, great garden!
Me too!! I went right in and took a shower after this. So far so good
The hydrangeas behind the bench are perfect, a pretty backdrop and a conversation piece! Good idea to move those there. Love your garden, its fun to watch the progress with each show!
That was good to know, just like splitting the hosta, thanks for the information.
Glad it was helpful!
Alot of love from INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love watching your videos, the thought process, the plants, the work, and the results! Your choice of music is great, too!
Jes, you need to land a recording deal with your music ! Your voice is so unique. ❤️🌸🇨🇦Thanks, I now know the hydrangeas don’t mind being ‘handled’.
Thank you very much!
I just met you. I love you and this is exactly what I love to do. Alo take care of elders.
Congratulations on 3000 subscribers!!!

Absolutely beautiful 😍 you definitely have convinced me to divide my Annabelle wish me luck!
The hydrangea will be so beautiful when they fill out. Great location.
Thankyou for such a wonderful video.Absolutely loved it!!!!
Jes, your created a whole new amazing area in your garden. I love it. Annabelles created a beautiful backdrop to your garden. You divided them so easy, wow!
Perfect video- Extremely Helpful and just what i needed as a refresher in how to go about splitting my hydrangeas! Along with good humor,Support for our Troops and a song to top it off- pure wholesome Goodness! Thanks Jes and have a lovely Day!✨🤍🙏🏼🇺🇸

Your gardens are beautiful. Thanks for the video. I didn't know you could separate them like that.
Great video! I love the free plants! The Hydrangeas look fantastic there, and the boxwood looks great in the pot. What a ton of work, you just keep moving those weeds back like it's easy and I know that's hard work.
Well it looks easy cuz i speed it up on the camera. It sure is hard work but it makes me feel good and like I accomplished something!! Thanks for watching so much!
This has given me inspiration to move my Annabell and separate into several. I bought the improved version but in blush blooms to plant in the space (proven winners). 🤞🏻 🤞🏻🤞🏻🌺🌻🌸🌼🌹 ☀️
OH thats such a pretty one! Once my incrediball PW get bigger i wanna split those too. Good luck!

Great job Jes. It looks beautiful and is evolving so nicely.
Thank you! 😊
Going to be Beautiful! Wishing I had that beautiful dark soil.
Good job looking at the bigger picture. I can see the raccoon now looking around wondering what has happened to his patch 🤪 Hope your brother is enjoying his posting in Germany, I did 10yrs there and really enjoyed it
LOL that raccoon is spoiled. Thank you for your service! My brother is liking it alot but also misses home!
This is the first time I have seen anyone spit Annabelle’s but so cool and very informative.

Thank you Jes. I’m surprised you didn’t run into any tree roots. 🌺💚🙃
me too!
Love your hair. My problem is I buy the plants but have no place to plant them. I like your idea of moving a row of logs as I clear a section.

I've been on a bender getting ideas from your beautiful gardens! Such a sweet family! Thanks for sharing
Awe thank you that’s very nice!
Good Sunday Morning Jes 😊
A day of hard work in the garden is so satisfying isn’t it! Can’t wait to see next year how the hydrangeas turn out! I love your choices of music, I recognize some of it is you, it may all be so forgive me if I’m wrong. When I heard your voice singing ‘I’m so lonely I could cry’, it took me a LONG way back. When I was just 11 years old I lost my father Herman Lloyd Browning, to a two year prolonged illness. He died abruptly on the operating table, his heart failed and this was just months before the heart lung machine was commonly used in operating rooms. I still love the song because it explained the depth of my feelings to myself even before others. My Dad was just over 40 years old when he passed, way too young. I enjoy more than I can tell you watching your videos. It brings that part of my original home state back to me in so many wonderful ways. Thank You.
God Bless you Janice for sharing something so personal and close you your heart! I love that you wrote his whole name out, this made me tear up!! You loved him so much, 11 years old to loose a dad is just heartbreaking. And then to find out about he new new machine created...goodness that takes my breath away. That song brings me back too, my grandma and grandpa use to sit around playing banjo, piano, guitars and singing all these old songs. There something about them that just hits a chord. Yes that's me singing and playing. Some of the music is just youtube instrumentals but the actual songs are me. Its fun for me to carry on what my grandparents used to do! Have a blessed day!
Thank you! Can't wait to tackle mine.
Going to divide my hydrangeas this fall thanks for the video.
My husband says you sound like your only 15 years old. He’s listening too.🌺💚🙃
LOL
Awesome job I had no idea it was that simple, now I know what I'll be doing this weekend ,thanks jess
one thing though, if its hot where you live you may want to wait til fall. The area i did this in is super wet and shady so they will be fine. Good luck!!! Its going to be beautiful in time
I love hydrangeas ,even know I can’t grow them here it’s ok I’ll enjoy watching yours😀Love it
I learned so much from this. Thank you.
Looks great! It will look finished in the area behind the bench when you continue your drift of chartreuse hosta. Good eye! 🌿
Looks like good place to drink coffee, on a out door table.jeff
I think I'll see how many I can get from my 2 in containers this autumn
I know that dreaded word. I love fall but I love summer more. Good luck with your splits!
Looking great. Loving the sweatshirt! Hello Dwight haha...
LOL thanks!
Loved the tutorial TY!! It looks Great!! God Bless our Armed Forces.
Amen!
Girl, you’re such a hard worker.
I just found your channel! Thank you for sharing, and please thank your husband for his service.
Thanks so much! Yes my brother is in the Army! Ill thank him!
Nice! I have done this to my big leaf hydrangeas also! Took a large clump and divided it into 5 new plants!
I love that!!
Amazing you dig without shoes love it
Thanks! sometimes i have to bust them out, depends on the type of digging
I grow my astilbes in pots & they love it. They don’t like to dry out so got to water them almost daily. This is why most have trouble with them.
You are so brave! Taking gorgeous plants and dividing would be daunting for me! Love all your decisions, gardens and music! Thank you, Jes! If you could tell me the brand and type of shovel you were using I would appreciate it.
God bless your brother and our thanks to him and your family for the sacrifices you make.
That is a Jackson J250 I think. The brand has wore off a bit since Ive had it for so long. But I think that’s what it reads
I didn't realize that it was your voice singing very beautiful
Thanks!
Good Morning Jes, I just have to tell you, I have a baby chipmunk in my house running around. He has been so challenging to catch. He is in a bedroom right now with the live trap, but can get out of the live trap. So funny, he is really cute. I would like to catch him soon.
Hahahahaha inside your house?! I can tell ya they go bonkers over Black Seed oil..you can pick up at most store and it’s reasonable also. Good luck returning him to his momma :) ✨🤍🙏🏼🇺🇸
NOOO thats crazy. They are so fast. I can't even imagine that. They are the cutest little things. LOL
Totally enjoyed the video! Happy anniversary to your brother in the Army!!! Loved the Schrute Farms shirt you were wearing...that show is so funny!!! Thank you for all you do!
Thank you!!
You can use biotone by espoma to help the roots develop when dividing and transplanting.
Thanks Nancy :)
I’ve never seen a singing chipmunk wearing pink boots.🐿🐿
LOL your funny! well its your lucky day haha
How do you keep snails and slugs from eating your beautiful hostas?! I really enjoy your videos and your sweet personality. I look forward to seeing each new one. Your yard is so pretty!
Thanks Jerri! I haven't had much slug and snail issues. I did see some one year but just a few and I tossed them off. Im blessed to not have a problem with it so far
Plant natives and feed pollinators. Follow. Doug Tallamy.
I can’t believe you’re working in flip flops.
Hey,love your work and garden.
I’am obsessed with Annabelle Hydrangeas and payed a fortune to create a hedge in the side of my home.
This is their second year and they are growing well and starting to bud.
What state in the US are you from.
Your garden is very lush and green.
Where I live it’s very hot,dry.
Greetings from Sydney,Australia 🇦🇺 😀❤️
You can put astilbe in pots also that's where I have mine and they do good every year
Im jealous you have blooms on your Annabelle Hydrangeas! I have 2 i planted 4 years ago they are in shade next to a dogwood. I have never got blooms on them 😣 I chopped them all the way to the ground last fall. The a full beautiful but still no blooms. So this fall im gonna try and dig them up and move them. Im giving them one more year and then they are out of here if they don't bloom next year. Your garden is beautiful! Nice job!
Oh and i love the music!
Iloveyour gardening and your voice. So are you a singer song writer too?
Yes I write songs, sometimes i put them on my movies!
I wish I had some Annabells!!
do your neighbors have any? LOL maybe they would give you a chunk!
@@jesthesinginggardener No but I will look for some!!
I love you RUclips video's but sometimes I can't hear you. I don't think it's my audio because I can hear your music great (love, love, love).
I just record on my phone so its probly on my end. I dont' really know what im doing im trying to get better! Thanks for the reminder :)
Honey! I was the one to young Gardner but now at 55 I value my feet and shoes really matter try gardening and some thing more than flip-flops you’ll be glad
Im trying here and there LOL thanks for the advice :)
This is my first time seeing someone do transplanting by filling up the hole with water and put the plant in it and then bury it, usually ppl will water after bury the plant, so i wonder will it work on other plant as well, such as annual like marygold or cosmos?🤔
How do your plants in pots perform with regular soil vs potting soil?
Hi Jes, you have so many beautiful hostas! What is the name of the hosta in front of the dead tree? It looks like there are more of them to the right of it. The dark green foliage, with the creamy white center is so striking. Thank you!
That’s called lakeside cupcake :)
Put a guide line on the tree when he cuts it down?🌺💚🙃
Your gardens are so peaceful and lovely you have a beautiful sense of placement.
My first reaction when you showed how unstable the tree is was-WAIT! It could easily fall on you while you are working! Evidently that didn’t happen……
LOL thank goodness! I know, I haven't really been out there much. My husband lent his chainsaw to someone we are waiting for him to get it back so we can cut it!
This my first look at your video, and your property is lovely. If you or anyone in the comments could tell me how I could divide a huge bushy three foot tall hydrangea. I grew this from a small root I got from my daughter, and I don't want to kill it. Thanks.
I’ve only ever split Annabelle hydrangeas. It’s super easy you just split the roots like you would a hosta, makes sure it gets lots of water :)
💚🇺🇸
Jes! What zone are you in? It looks like you have hard dirt? Is it acidic? Just found you’re videos! Good stuff!!
Hi there! We are in Michigan zone 4/5. My soil varies depending on where you are in my yard LOL. But on the south side of my Gully garden its super dry. Down further towards my back yard its super rich and black. To be honest I've never tested it before so I have no idea what the acidity level is. Im blessed to have pretty good soil for the most part so I don't think about it too much! Thanks for watching!
I love your channel! What zone are you in?
We are Michigan zone 4/5 . Thanks for being here!
Those hydrangea stock you thew away go back and get them put in a bucket with water and they will root
I did! I read this comment and jumped up and did what you said. We will see what happens!!
Where does your neighbors property line start? What about privacy? Jeff
Be careful around that dead tree. If your husband almost pushed it over it will fall in a slight breeze. Urge him to cut it down now.
Good idea!
