The old lady. Sweet!
Loved my pie and mash growing up. Back when London was traditional, although my parents were immigrants they became proper Londoners and raised us in British tradition. Never went on the benefits, lived in one house we owned outright, we flew the flag! Love London and had a magic childhood. Plan on going back and living out my days there. Sw19 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
But you'll never look like British, or "proper" londoner. By the way, many true British or londoners may be on "benefits", so identity has nothing to do with poverty.
you pretty
@@zorroalphonso4354 Don't be stupid, Londoners have been a cosmopolitan mix for well over a century. Capital cities and trading centres have had generations of immigrants and their grandchildren and children are fully fledged Londoners if they want to identify as that, nobody can say otherwise.
@Real Talk True Story what a croc of shit if you are born in London then you are a Londoner. Since many Londoners are of mixed ethnicity or immigrant stock, even many light skinned ones like Jews from around Europe for example who lived in the East End, are their children not Londoners??
t1000v20 No
Had some pie n mash from Bjs in canning town yesterday, take away of course, lovely stuff.
Dye's at fulham gave up a couple of years ago as did Nathans at East Ham and the Harringtons on the Wandsworth road too. Thankfully the Golden Pie at the junction and Selkirk road are stayers
I think it's because they were all serving bad liquor, if you look at the surviving places they all serve much better quality liquor
Come up North and try our pie n mash with Gravy and peas ..... Aowsome....😁😁😁😁
If vege pie id come plus gravy with black pepper
Excellent compilation!
Never knew Pie and Mash was so popular in Baghdad.
Thank Tony Blair and the British Labour Party for that.
''In ol' Baghdad,
There's a woman just bin .....ed,
She's the daughter of the barber, Sweeney Todd. Dirty sod''.
Anyone know the other verses?
if i lived above id eat pie and mash every day
Such a pity there are no addresses for these shops
I tried it once and it was horrible, it cost a fucking fortune too
Pedophile Chickenmeat, British food is renowned for its bad taste.
Proper fare this but whats the liquor made of ????? Please let me know someone 👍
The cooking stock from the eels, parsley roughly chopped and some corn flour to thicken it up a bit. No green dye and no blending the parsley up.
eel squeezin's
They're very particular and don't like calling it 'gravy.' It's parsley liquor and they use the bullion from the boiled eels to make it, adding finely chopped parsley and somehow it works very well with the meat pie. When I was 12 and at school pie and mash was always better than school dinners. 1948.
@@geoffbercovich3489 Doesn't look much better than school dinners to be honest with you. It's traditional food but nothing special to be honest.
May 2020 I will eat double pie n mash with a side order of hot eels mash n liquor. After feeling like a greedy fat bastard I will look around Joe Cookes shop in Hoxton for the last time and shed a tear knowing 118yrs of family history in the East End is over as we leave to join our kids in Canada. So sad, but London is a lost cause like most multicultural cities have become.
