driving in third person really messes with your braking points. I like to race in first person on my Logitech. I tried third person and got one my fastest laps, just because I could position the car more precisely letting it run wide and clip apexes. but racing in first person is so much more fun, and its as close to being on a real track as l'll get, pushing a car to its limits and beyond. I love throwing my Subaru around the track trying to get faster and faster times.
It takes a little time to adjust to the car size in first person, I find I feel more disconnected from the car though in third person and have less of a read on how its handling, but this challenge was fun!
I generally find it quite easy to learn new tracks/stages while using the navigation app to see what's coming up. In this instance I've used this stage quite a bit (For the Utah Rally I ran earlier this year and in my first person rally series) so I know it pretty well now hence why I chose it for this challenge.
wondering if you play art of rally often. one of my favorite games just based on how relaxing it is to play. if so how good are you? mount haruna time?
I don't play it too much currently as I've played through the career twice already but I always run the daily and weekly events at the end of my streams. I would say I'm pretty decent, usually in the top 5-10% of the leaderboards for the events.
The Tacho comes from here: www.beamng.com/resources/custom-tachometers-and-boost-gauges.17398/ The stopwatch comes from here: www.beamng.com/resources/stopwatch.25662/ The extension to the tacho is just a graphic I made and have layered on top while recording, made for the Rally series that I run.
this is incredibly niche as a huge BeamNG and Art of Rally enjoyer

try doing slip angle or power sliding
How do you manage the tracks without callouts? I get caught by hairpins all the time and end up hugging a tree :) Just memorization?
Just memorise the roads. Try making your own course by driving slowly and judging how you're gonna attack it
