Criminal how few interviews there are available with this man. He is a well-seasoned, creative veteran and a fountain of knowledge. I feel like he could answer every question I’ve ever had and will ever have about orchestral recording and mixing.

Agreed! Been mixing my close mics differently lately because of this video, setting them anywhere from -6 to -10 db less than the main mic to let the room speak more and for the close mics just to add a little more definition ,and I'm loving my compositions more now. In the past I had the close mics way too high in volume or even matching the main mic in volume and kept wondering why it sounded so brittle, screaming in your face, etc... Honestly -10db on spot/close mic compared to the main mic is my favorite setting across the board.

My wife and I spent time with him and his wonderful wife in a social circle that we were all involved in. He is indeed very intelligent, capable and humble. I thoroughly enjoyed our talks and time spent with him. I wish he and his wife all the best in the future.
