Have you experienced issues where too many devices are connected and signal splitting? For example i have about 10 individual streaming devices (apple TV, Roku, laptopns, ipads, etc.) I find that when all are going at the same time my modem (other provider) sometimes had a brain fart and crashed. I had to change modems to a newer model etc. Am wondering if you experienced any similar sort of things with this.
Coming from someone who gets 3mbps at times(my internet is pretty bad sometimes) i would love 100mbps. Lol. If Verizon works pretty well in my area, this should work even though it says its not available? It runs off Verizon towers?
It will be tied to your Zip Code used for billing, I have used for 10 days. After 3rd day the device no longer shows in my Straight Talk account. Now not sure I will be able to renew. Maybe if you are in the right zip code. I contacted Verizon as they own Straight Talk, they say weaker signal strength is why not available in all areas. They will email update if they expand to my zip. Maybe some hope
I am currently using Spectrum, and I mainly use it when I need to work from home. Would this work decently for that purpose, or should I keep my current provider.
my 10 day experience has been 50Mbs to 100Mbs. Just like your Verizon phone it needs a clear view to make good these rates. Not possible without using a mesh network to boost the signal. I am using the Google mesh with add on point. The service is modest but works for me.
Do you have to buy it near where you live or can you purchase it at any location even if it’s outside your area. Asking because some stores have it on shelf and some stores do not
5G covers my entire city and the neighboring cities. I live literally right down the street from a tower (it's on the actual end of my street). I often get download speed of less than 1.5 Mb, and upload speed of less than 0.05 Mb. All customer service tells me is to turn the device off and on again. This "fixes" the issue, but I am never reaching speeds advertised. I am currently at 10 Mb down, 1 Mb up. Choppy service like this is precisely why I swapped off of my previous provider.
I used to work at sprint where we had to know how the towers worked. So what happens is that underneath a tower, you have much lower signal than if you were to be much further away. The signal is much like an umbrella. So if you are in that umbrella space around the cell tower, your lack of signal would reflect this. Also, carriers can direct the antennas on the tower to a more precise area. Sometimes much further away from the tower itself. Just because you live close to the tower, definitely does not mean you will get better signal. I hope this helps
@@mariagricius8994 It's true. When we built a new office building in 2014 we couldn't get internet for a year so we had to go with 4G LTE and they had to send a guy (or girl) up their pole to re-aim one of their antennas at our building. Probably made service worse for other people but I guess when you're paying $3,000/mo. for business internet, you get priority.
The website says service isn't available at my house bit all my straight devices work great and pick up 5g so I'm wondering if it'll work even though it says it doesn't lol it would suck to buy it and the card and it doesn't work
I know this video is old, but I'm working on a project using this box. If anyone can answer, please let me know: Can you plug in a wifi mesh router system, like the Deco Wireless by TP Link, to the straight talk box?
Every address i put says it isn't available there. I've tried every trick i can find in the internet and none work. I have great Verizon service where I live and even tried to put addresses others have said to use but it still says unavailable
Clear your browser cookies after every address you try. If one address fails I do believe that it will return all failures after that point. Clear your cookies and try a new address you know that works.
I don't think this is sold anymore. When I placed an order on line, the next day I received an email saying it's unavailable and my order was canceled. I see used ones on line but I don't want to buy used.
I'm already a straight talk customer. When you registered device do just used your friend's address? Do you registered to your current email and phone number?
No there isn't I've been using this for 2 months now and game and my gf and I use our playstation's constantly for both gaming and media streaming and probably use at least a minimum of 500 gigs a month at least and no slowdowns really at all here and there it'll drop down to 25-35 meg's download when both systems are downloading a large update so exceptional for reliable speeds compared to everything else in our area
speed depends on what server(you can choice) you connect to for test. 5G will have about 100mb, if only 4G service will have about 50mb.
Is it good for gaming wired to jus one console no extra bandwidth

50mb-100mb is well over enough for basic tasks such as work
Is it wireless? Do devices connect wireless?
Can you play Fortnite on a Nintendo Switch with this? Thank you for your video also
Just wanted to ask can you game on this network please let me know thanks

You can buy it anywhere
You can try buying it online and having it shipped to your house @@troyyarbrough
Went to Walmart today to buy one . They quit carrying them because they kept getting returned
Does it work good for playing play station games

I bought the home internet from straight talk but it says ....no availability from the scan of box. How can I get around this issue? Ty
Hello

It will I had the same issue

Is there a way to find out if you can get it where you are?
just check on straight talk web site for availability, and make sure you have good Verizon network where you are.
The website says if it will but it tells me it won't even though my 5g straight talk phone works great
you sound like Dracula.
True, it's really cool

Can you update the firmware on the device ?
What about I rural areas would it
See how this work using a wireless roughter please!

So I’m technologically challenged. 😂 Does this just plug into an outlet?
Yes
Does anybody have a problem with it overheating or is it just warm when its on
All routers get warm. And the heat usually kills them. They could put a fan in them but... planned obsolescence and profits.
what if you have straight talk phone working, but address shows not available for home internet
I had the same problem, I have used my friend address, and so far so good.
@@varietiesteck2 so you put in your friends address to activate it and you just take it home and it works?
