    Legitimate commentary about business processes is often times labeled "pessimism" so I take this with a grain of salt. I always keep some nay sayers around because they shine a light on the holes in your business. The key thing is that they have to have well reasoned critiques not just pot shots with no counter proposal. But again, bosses generally don't like to be challenged so they are labeled, boxed, and dispatched.

      A good supervisor/boss keeps those lines of communication open and wants to hear the well-reasoned critiques. The endlessly pessimistic ones don't want to want to give you actionable feedback they just want to complain.

    From experience, most often than not, negative employees become that way due to lack of purpose. I imagine if this employer sat down with these negative employees, figured out their goals and worked out a progression plan with them, they may well end up having a more positive outlook.

      I always hated that "what are your goals for next year?". My goal was to earn an honest living, I'm not interested in making the job the main priority in my life or sucking up to the company. Go away and let me work. Sorry, not sorry...😊

    Run a better ship and no one should be negative or complaining. I am super negative but that is how I process things so I can cash the big checks without static.

      I had an employee that was a great worker, but incessantly negative and sometimes angry. Our workplace is full of experienced and hardworking leaders. We do our best to enable our teams to work well and want to come to work. Nothing was ever enough for him. He didn't care when we made changes that benefit him. He dismissed any attempt to hear his feedback. He was sour for the sake of being sour.
      Then he quit smoking and got a girlfriend. Suddenly he was happier, willingly helpful, and had very little to complain about. Moral of the story is that it's not always the job.

    I get a kick out of Ramsey (& friends) instance that employees want to be “loved on.” I mean, I’m more that fine w/ cordial treatment & constructive criticism 😅😅

    Depends on the context of the negativity. If it is personal stuff spilling over into work, that is one thing. Just lending an ear and being a sounding board for the employee can be helpful. Just remind them that it can't impact their work. Do what you can to help and accommodate within reason, but have your boundaries. You can't solve everyone's problems and it's kind of hard not to feel compelled to when so much of life is intertwined with personal stuff and work stuff.
    I will say, though, that if you have an employee always complaining and being negative, I ask them, "Are you just complaining or do you want me to fix it?" If it's something they want fixed and I empower them to solve their problem with the right tools, resources, and support, I usually see a stop to the complaining and negativity.

    A good workplace environment only good if you and other workers or employees have a good chemistry. Its all about adjustment when it comes to have a good relationshio with your colleagues or co-workers.

    Isaacs are irritating busy bodies who volunteer to try to get overly involved in other people's lives. Sometimes work is work, personalities are none of your business. Hire better, or phase out if not a good fit

    • @jordanlp02
      @jordanlp02 Месяц назад

      That's part of the conversation you have to have. There's a line where "personality" becomes a productivity and morale issue.

    I’ve been trying to get fired for the last three years and my dad and family will not do it! All their jobs are night jobs and I really dislike working nights? I could walk away and get another job, but then I’ll feel bad because they are having a hard time finding good employees to work their jobs. If they are firing me then it’s out of my hands and I won’t feel as bad?

    Some people just aren't 'bubbly'. Doesn't mean they are negative though. They are mostly just not fake. Toxic positivity makes real and realistic people grumpy as hell. It's an interaction. So to improve the atmosphere you might just as well get rid of the bubbly ones.

    • @lotstosay6359
      @lotstosay6359 Месяц назад

      Totally making excuses. Some people are just super negative just for the hell of it. Crabs in the barrel people who want to pull everyone down with them. There is no toxic positivity you can be genuine and positive or share concerns and opinions in a non rude manner. Negative people are assholes and are better off being let go. They tend to not work hard and like to rain on the parade of the actual productive get things done employees. Who wants to deal with that BS all day. Get a fucking therapist already.

      True, but my job as a top expert in my field is to inform my leaders. If the information I provide contradicts the plan, the plan is likely shit. If I have to spend many hours to walk back their plan post implementation, I get to be salty.
