Yeah wait til u hit 60’s thangs change long before I hit that age I’ve had both hips replaced (at 45) and now one knee (3 years ago) so for and I’m only 62. Boy age creeps up on u very quickly. I can’t do as much as I used to so take care of ur self. Will be keeping Nanny goat 🐐 in my prayers so happy that Laverne had her babies and No Complications, take care of those babies now. Im envious of people in their 40's, 50's that are still active! I had to retire at 48yrs old, neuropathy, using walker, numbness, lots pain. So hope Lester & Jamie are going strong late in old age!! But I love these animals so much ♥️

My dad just had his right knee done on April 15th and his birthday is April 26th and he turned 82, so actually I’m only 61 right now til November 28th. So he has had both knees done in five years and my left one was three years ago this pass February both hips I’ve had two surgeries on each and then replacements done in January 2005 on my right and then in October of 2005 the left one was done. And all these surgeries have been on joints I have messed up when I was younger in sports 🏀🏐🥎🏃🎳🏇 all listed here. Horseback 🐴 riding been thrown and stepped on.

We say when one dies a new one comes along. I know when my mother in law passed away, a year later to the date she passed I had my youngest daughter. I think it’s so sweet that Shirley helped Lavern and wouldn’t leave her when she gave birth and they looked just like their moma so sweet lol 😂 Journey wants all the attention from y’all cause y’all spoiled her but she is so sweet I could squeeze her even if she’s getting bigger she’s still precious reminds me of a little dog l think she’s picked up Maggie’s ways . When I retired from teaching I realized how much I really did besides teach. Still busy! Food pantry, free tutoring, church chores, senior citizen friendship hotline. Work takes a different form. Enjoy the changes...hug!

It is definitely a loss for the kids losing you as a teacher. Teachers like you are so important and I would love to have you as a teacher to any of my four kiddos. The happiest day of my life was when I retired at age 43. I had no idea how we were going to survive with two children lots of pets and one income. But we managed it was the best thing I’ve ever done was retiring from that job and it’s within six weeks I was on to a new career job not what I had planned but I would prefer to stay retired at 43. But you’re gonna love it Lester it’ll all work out

Shirley Bird and Huck have special souls, I hope the grandbabies carry that line and their spirits too, Lavern and Shirley never really separated that mother child bond.Like most animals will. Even if you had known about the babies when it happened they were OK and being cared for, what else could you have done , other than move them to the stall/Nursery. They can nurse off mom for a few days then I'm guessing bottle time( ya'll better start drinking your diet Dr Pepper again you are going to need 5 more bottles). So heart warming that Journey is a big girl now and part of the herd, I always thought she would have to be separated for most of her life.I love that you can tell which donkey was braying just by the sound- they all sound the same to me.
Lester you and Jamie take such good care of your animals and Journey is proof that with lots of love and care miracles can happen!! So happy that Laverne had her babies! Old Nanny and new babies are part of the circle of life!

That’s okay Lester, I no longer need a sanctuary when I can support and watch yous! I’m also resigning at the end of the school year from the school system. Whether I can make it or not, I’ll soon see. “Retirement” not quite, when one is any type of a caregiver there’s no rest or enjoyment every minute. Sending everyone hugs on Lavern’s births.
I was raised on a (mainly) dairy farm. I know what goes into running a farm with 1,600+ animals - there is no let up. When I’m not at work, I’ve been helping my mum out because it’s the start of calving and lambing season. I’m a full time Quality Control Engineer in my day job, but I just can’t fully pull myself away from farm life.
Your babies need you. So I am sure you will have plenty to do. I am sure the Littles love having the special treats of their Dad around. Lots of new life!!!
Lester: my first day in the classroom was August, 1969. My last day was May 24, 2019. I have empathy for the issues you face as you walk away. Now that I’ve retired, I seriously wonder why I didn’t go sooner. I have greatly reduced my stress level by not teaching through Covid. I’ve taught so long some of my best friends are former students! I’m a firm believer things happen for a reason and things ALWAYS work out. Again I say, if I could only access one RUclips household, it would be all y’all’s family channels.
Lester y’all should install cameras in the barns. That way if you need videos you have those and you can always we what’s going on in the barns. It’d be super cool!
They did have the nest cameras up when they went on vacation. More than likely they took them down when they got home. Sandi Brock from Sheeplishly me uses them in her barn to see if any ewe's have had baby before she gets out to the barn at 5am.

Shirley Bird and Huck have special souls, I hope the grandbabies carry that line and their spirits too, Lavern and Shirley never really separated that mother child bond.Like most animals will. Even if you had known about the babies when it happened they were OK and being cared for, what else could you have done , other than move them to the stall/Nursery. They can nurse off mom for a few days then I'm guessing bottle time( ya'll better start drinking your diet Dr Pepper again you are going to need 5 more bottles). So heart warming that Journey is a big girl now and part of the herd, I always thought she would have to be separated for most of her life.I love that you can tell which donkey was braying just by the sound- they all sound the same to me.

I’m amazed by the bond Shirley and her daughter Laverne have. Shirley was right by her daughter as Laverne gave birth. Springtime on a farm lots of new life. God is good. I love seeing Shirley by Lavern’s side such a motherly thing to do. However both Lavern and Shirley looked a little shocked snd confused. Maybe they knew their surroundings were not very conducive to having newborns. Will look forward to the updates on them. Lester you won’t look back from retirement enjoy the farm and your family 😊

That’s okay Lester, I no longer need a sanctuary when I can support and watch yous! I’m also resigning at the end of the school year from the school system. Whether I can make it or not, I’ll soon see. “Retirement” not quite, when one is any type of a caregiver there’s no rest or enjoyment every minute. Sending everyone hugs on Lavern’s births.
I was raised on a (mainly) dairy farm. I know what goes into running a farm with 1,600+ animals - there is no let up. When I’m not at work, I’ve been helping my mum out because it’s the start of calving and lambing season. I’m a full time Quality Control Engineer in my day job, but I just can’t fully pull myself away from farm life.
Who knew our Shirley would be a birth coach/midwife? What a great Mama/Grandma.

Lester: my first day in the classroom was August, 1969. My last day was May 24, 2019. I have empathy for the issues you face as you walk away. Now that I’ve retired, I seriously wonder why I didn’t go sooner. I have greatly reduced my stress level by not teaching through Covid.
I’ve taught so long some of my best friends are former students!
I’m a firm believer things happen for a reason and things ALWAYS work out.
Again I say, if I could only access one RUclips household, it would be all y’all’s family channels.
Lester y’all should install cameras in the barns. That way if you need videos you have those and you can always we what’s going on in the barns. It’d be super cool!
Alot of people have mentioned this but they have crappy wifi there so it wouldn't work.
They did have the nest cameras up when they went on vacation. More than likely they took them down when they got home. Sandi Brock from Sheeplishly me uses them in her barn to see if any ewe's have had baby before she gets out to the barn at 5am.
