Vet here - 5 stars for the Casa La Alpaca that you’ve created for Annie, Indie and Ernie. Separating the Alpaca from the avian friends (Ernie) and goats is a very important step in parasite prevention. I commend you for not hesitating and being living proof of the Nike lingo “Just doing (sic) it”. When you identify an issue, change is swift, considered and truly what animal husbandly is all about. I’m impressed at the speed in which you proactively do it. Ensuring there is clean water and access to feed and grains that are “off the ground” is best practice. In terms of community service, I suspected your channel is also serving to educate other alpaca owners. Thank you for your input. I watch a lot of these type of channels, and these folks are one of the best. I do not however, understand how some channels have become so popular when they have no clue of what they are doing. Collecting a bunch of animals and not educating oneself about them as far as proper care makes me feel as though it is all for show. I cannot count the number of times I (and others, including vets) have tried to give advice and suggestions, especially in regard to veterinary care, only to have others (viewers) imply we are haters, and even have our suggestions removed....that tells me they are hiding something, and don't want us to know the truth. I remember watching one channel's children being bare footed, walking where at least 5 different types of animals had been defecating---I left a reminder that certain intestinal parasites can enter through the skin--one viewer had a fit, saying it was ridiculous, my comment was removed, I left a reply to back up my initial comment, and it too was removed. I have asked countless times about what type of heartworm prevention some use because they have multiple large dogs---no response--I have dropped 3 channels because their dogs had heartworms. I wouldn't doubt if the dogs aren't even vaccinated (they share most everything they do). Having animals, any type, requires a lot of responsibility, and giving them the proper care is very important. Thank you again.
The new feeding station is wonderful. And having Ernie home with his ladies will certainly help him heal quicker. Thank you Lester for creating a clean, healthy environment for the alpacas. I don’t know if it would be considered a mistake. I would consider it an accident. Oakies passing has brought a better and gooder process (as tragic as his loss was). The paddock looks awesome and love the new feeding system. As always, you always give the animals the best love.

I've never known or seen or heard of anyone to take better Care of their animals then all of you guys! Ya'll are wonderful to all of them! Love this entire family!!
The new paddock for the Alpacas, with the upright "feeding station" is GREAT. Ernie will be so happy to be back with his "girls", and, hopefully, will help expedite his healing. I do worry about your idea of letting them out in the back, toward the river. Not because of the river, but, because that's been a GOAT pathway for years. There must have been a lot of goat poop deposited along/in that area, which might be a source of BAD parasites. You don't want the Alpacas exposed to that, since Annie & Indie have been cleared, and Ernie has been so ill. Just another of "my worries" for the babies. Other than that worry ( of mine ), I think you've done a FANTASTIC job of cleanup & making improvements for their "home, water, feed". Sometimes, it takes a "hard knock" to make us realize that we need to do something different/safer for our babies. Can't wait to see Ernie when he sees his family again.♥♥♥
Love the feeder! What a great idea to keep them safe. Remember to remove that tag on the feeder so they don’t eat it. Thank you for loving them and working to keep them safe.
Poor Lester ... his heart is so heavy right now losing Okie that he keeps saying his name ... thats so sad Lester im so sorry for u all's loss ... he really was a special creature ... i can tell ur a bit distraught still ... but if any thing helps i hope u know he was such a beautiful gift to all of us especially u and Jami and thank u both so much for sharing him with us all ...he really stole a lot of hearts in the best way and helped so many people with him just being Okie and uplifting those who really needed it ... he will always be at the top of u all's most special babies ever in the morrow fur babies book ... please know that we are here for u both and we are grieving with u ... sending lots of warm hugs and many prayers for u all during this hard time ....
You have worked so hard to make a safe place for your alpacas and it will not go unrewarded. Hopefully, the winter will kill off the parasites and make it a more manageable situation for all alpaca owners in Texas and elsewhere. You are setting a fine example. Love the new feed station.
I love the alpaca's new area and feeding trough. They both look so sweet enjoying what you've created for them and a wonderful home for Ernie to continue healing.
Great job on getting the alpaca in a more sanitary environment and Jami your flower beds are looking absolutely beautiful. You, your mom and Lester did a wonderful job.❤❤
The new alpaca paddock looks wonderful and the new feeding station is perfect for feeding off the ground. I can’t wait to see Ernie come home and be joined with his family.
What an awesome set-up for your Alpacas. I'm so thankful Ernie will be coming home today. I will so miss Okie...he was such a sweet little guy. Have a blessed day Lester & Jami!
I'm not normally a crier. But I've found myself crying so often about Okie. Frankly, I had never preferred alpaca the way many do. I love ALL animals and absolutely do not dislike any animal...well, maybe rats! Anyway, that changed when I virtually met Okie!! He instantly became my favorite of favorites! So I completely understand that you and Jami will always mourn the loss of that special little guy. And, although I completely appreciate your honest evaluation of the possible causes of his departure, I don't agree there is blame to be had. You cannot know what you don't know. You've had alpaca for many years and nothing like this has ever happened. In fact the opposite. Your alpaca have been healthy and happy and even produced offspring. So I hope you will soon forego the blame game. You've done a wonderful job setting up their new bedroom (😁) and it seems they already love it! Best wishes toward bringing our Ernie home. Much love and virtual hugs to one and all. ❤🤗 Janice
Nobody could have predicted what happened with the alpaca getting sick. All we can do is learn when things like that happen and change things to help prevent it from happening again. And you did that and did a great job with it!!
🫣Nope, I didn't see Annie & Indy running over & nibbling on Momma's bushes🤫 🤭🤣. Great news to hear the fecal tests all came back with great results. I am so thankful and relieved that Ernie 🤎was saved, in recovery and Coming H🫶🏼ME. I am at a loss for words in regard to Okie. I've cried 5 days in row with you🤍🖤🪽. You two have been in my constant thoughts and prayers. I am absolutely Heartbroken for you & Jami💌💌. Love, T
Awe Lester I love how you fixed up Annie, Indie, & Ernie's paddock. That hay/ grain feeder is so neat you bought for them. You both truly care about your babies. Thank you for doing this. Hope Ernie gets home soon!!! Happy for him.😊😊😊😊😊😊glad he is feeling better
Lester and Jami are two of the best and most caring farmers/rancher I have ever seen. The love for ALL their babies is off the chart. It is safe to say their babies are very spoiled. ❤😊
I do hope Ernie is still well enuf to go home today 🤞🙏. You've done such a good job with the pasture to prepare it for him and also prevent parasites hurting Annie and Indie.

Hi to hello Lester and Jami you did such a great job cleaning out the paddock you always go above and beyond for your babies they love their hay trough 🥰 That was a great idea with the water buckets 💙🩷❤️
Lester and Jami thank you for taking the time to video all of the changes. But you all always do what's best for the animals. Love you both for being the angels that you are to all of your babies.
You have done a fantastic job of changing the pasture for them, the feeding station is brilliant and the smaller water buckets. You have thought of everything, like you said we learn by our mistakes, and have changed their living space. We will miss that sweet boy Okie so much, but his passing is not in vain if better things come out of it.Prayers for Ernie and rest in peace little fella♥️.

How wonderful. The alpaca family will live in luxury and happiness with each other.
Bless y'alls hearts, Lester you and Jami are more than capable of taking care of Ernest at home with his family !! Get well soon Ernnie, we love you❤
Lester, the alpaca pasture looks fantastic. Great job.

I love these alpacas so much
You have worked so hard to make a safe place for your alpacas and it will not go unrewarded.
I pray for Ernie recovery 🙏🏻 he probably sad missing his boy Okie. Glad he will be with Annie and Indie ❤❤❤
Excellent idea for the water trough. I like the hay/feed trough, too. The shot of both Indie and Annie peeking over the hay is so cute.
You always have the best interest for your animals, Lester you are amazing person with so much care for the animals n people. ❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You did a great job with the pastures, separate lot, troughs, etc. Lester. Hope you're on your way to pick up Ernie. Bless you guys. Love you❤
I thought the very same. Lester I appreciate how clean and neat you keep your paddock and pastures. We may not say it but it is noticed.
What an awesome set-up for your Alpacas. I'm so thankful Ernie will be coming home today. I will so miss Okie...he was such a sweet little guy. Have a blessed day Lester & Jami!
I’m so happy that the alpaca s have their own area. They will be glad to be back together again. Love Rocky 🦙💕🦙💕🦙💕
Great job, Lester. Praying for Ernie...
❤🤗 Janice
Sending ❤&🙏
Love, T
