Even near the end of his career...Buddy was still pulling out some new stuff. Remarkable.
A legend of drum
Even this late in his career he was unstoppable ! Always amazing to see that double stoke roll one handed !
Absolutely one of a kind.
👍🏼Thanks to MR's neighborhood Drummer Mike "Skinz" Gonzales formerly of Plano,Illinois,,I'd never known about Buddy Rich,,I now have Way More Respect for the Drum Players in this World✌🏼
I used to see him at his club " Buddy's Place" in NYC . Always fantastic!!
Sensacional....👏👏👏
love him
Buddy is the best ever.
69 yrs. young😂❤
ONE OF A KIND!!
BUDDY RICH!!❤😂🎉
He died the next year…2April 1987.
No one has claimed his crown since .🥁
He was 69.
BEYOND GOD
The G.O.A.T!
At the Blue Note, NYC, December 1986. At least Buddy acknowledged that “Winding Way” was too fast at the end of the chart. Just a bunch of fast notes throughout. Bones just blatting through their parts. Greg G. wondering at the end of WSS if it would be a Channel One ending to WSS as had happened before. And EM once again strong and wrong on the last chord of WSS.
Sad seeing this ending. Find earlier clips when it was all real. My heart is sad.
You mean the trumpet last note in wss?
is that steve marcus on the tenor?
Absolutely Mr.Marcus ! He was Buddy's mainstay ..
Yes. It is.
What a mfr!
What year? Marcus looks young. GREAT MIX. I don't recognize the chart-we never played it. (75-81, on/off)
July 1986. Chart before west side story was calling Winding Way…written by Matt Harris who was Buddy’s piano player at this time
I think Buddy Rich was swearing a little bit. I saw his lips say something
Nice schlagzeuger 🎉
Buddy would have been the best fit with the rolling stones. Wow wee.
Love to know how he tuned that snare..
Properly!
Thats a long riding roll.
