My favorite part of this show among many, his epic Breed leap, and the statue beheading. Is when Kurt pauses Pennyroyal Tea at "I'm on..." And someone in the crowd yells "You're on CRACK!" I always wondered why Kurt laughed! 😂
No point in me commenting this if you’ve already said it! Totally agree. The attention to detail and the tones and general enjoyability makes this channel amazing! Always feel like I’ve learned something and been better for watching the vids!
30 years ago today Live And Loud took place. Had the tv airing on a vhs I “borrowed” from a classmate and would watch and rewind and watch again and again. Kurt’s guitar on Scentless Apprentice is bad ass specially that middle part full of crazy bends and sounds.
I'm so glad you paid attention to the fact the DOD Grunge pedal was used throughout the show. I first noticed it in a brief scene in the Endless Nameless MV. If you go to 9:09 at 1.25 playback speed, you can catch a glimpse of Kurt's hand moving away from that pedal. This means he used it for the Live and loud show. Also please to a part of the video on Endless Nameless. In my opinion it's one of Nirvana's hidden gems. I can't wait to see this awesome video! Thank you for your awesome content!
I was at this show. The Breeders opened up the night, then Cypress Hill came out. I was 15 years old I got an invite to go from the Nirvana fan club. Here I am 30 years later 45 years old and still a massive fan. RIP Kurt
this was the first full concert i ever watched of nirvana's, i fell in love with the guitar tones, the stage decor, it then turned me to in utero, it became my favourite concert and favourite nirvana era of all time, hearing this tone being done so accurately made my day, its so AWESOME MAN!
Thank you for your patience and for watching!! I feel bad that it took this long, this has been requested for such a long time. But I'm very happy with how it came out 😃
I’m always impressed with how you get the tone really accurate to the original recordings! And I’m happy you now have a DOD Grunge to do these songs. Keep up the great videos!
At first, I thought The Paramount was my favourite live performance from Nirvana. Then I actually decided to watch all of Live And Loud and wow, it just blew me away. The guitar tone is amazing, there are so many great moments (R.I.P. In Utero angel) and the vibe itself is just epic. I can't describe it, but it really speaks to me. This video itself is actually amazing and I love watching your stuff, especially videos like this!!! Keep it up, man.
These recreations never cease to amaze, man, I still have a lot of respect for the research you do and I’m definitely gonna check out this concert because I’ve always wanted to see it but never got around to it. Great as always, msn, keep it up
I love your channel bro! Being a Nirvana nut myself and a guitar player for now 25 years, I seriously appreciate your knowledge and dedication to recreating all things guitar de la Kurt
Absolutely nailed it. Loved how over the top that FX69 sounds without Krist and Pat's parts😆. Great example of something sounding harsh solo'd but sounding great in context. Can't wait to see what you go for next.
Hey Eric, you mentioned something that not only would be cool, but for shure you are the guy to do it. Recreate Pat's tone, during his time on Nirvana .Do a overview video, maybe borrow his model guitar from someone, or even doing with what you have
tbh it's amazing to me how u make all these tones with the twin reverb. I would bet that with today's PA if kurt was alive he would probably be playing some small shows with a micd up twin reverb
22:03 Loved The Man Who Sold The World tone!! I’m curious if you would ever do a cover of the song like a studio version like what if Nirvana went into the studio and recorded it officially for an album, what would it sound like, the closest thing we ever have to it is the Unplugged Performance but, I’d be interested to hear you interpretation of what a studio version would sound like.
This man demands respect for his craft he is very informative and knows what's he's talking about he's quickly becoming my fav RUclips account by far thanks for all your hard work and information
@@NirvanaGuitars on my album "From the muddy banks of the Wishkah" (french version) we see Kurt with a white Fender Mustang and next to him an orange DS boss.
Hey dude, I really really love your videos and your dedication to the tone recreations!! I’d just like to ask, do you think a fender bassman ten would be a good substitute for your twin reverb as my brother has one that no one has turned on for over a year. Thanks for your awesome work and keep it up because you are the best! 🤘🤘
Hey, I really like your work! I have a proposition for the next video, Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle, Live in Seattle centre area cover. It's really cool.
the strats wernt purely for destroying, they were generally pretuned in drop d for the encore songs in that tuning to make the changeover more simple (easy for most guitarists to go to drop d quickly but with those fender bridges it obviously effects the tuning of all 6 strings if you change just one) and ive seen footage of them used when one of the Mustang's strings snapped or was really out of tune around late 92 and 93 tours. I've also read about it and from looking myself i think they were often put together strat copy bodies and necks. You can still get very cheap strat necks that arnt made by or labelled as fender but have the exact same shape. They had a technician on tours who main job was putting back together/renting the guitars and bits of drums (rarely basses because those insanely heavy gibson things Krist used are indestructible)
Prior to the in utero tour, Kurt used strats regularly and not just for destroying. On the In Utero tour, strats were only ever brought out for Blew and stage destruction
What passion and what channel ! I love it. In live show at the Great Western Forum in LA I have the impression that Kurt uses a modulation effect in the solos of serve the servants, in bloom or even where did you sleep. It's quite unusual... any idea what pedal he's using?
Hi!! It was briefly mentioned but can we get an in-depth of your Stratocaster modeled after Buddy Hollys? He’s one of my favorite singers and guitarist and I would like to know! Thank you!
Sounds better than ever! I think you should replace the neck to only just have fender logo on it. It will be more accurate(if it isn't enough already).
Hey Eric, I know we spoke on the previous use of the DOD during this concert. I've come to the realisation that the DOD was probably used during Breed. You can hear it when Kurt is saying "I don't care, I don't care" whilst he's playing really high up the neck. Now, in saying that, I've also had the thought that the DOD was used on Scentless Apprentice. I don't know what it is but Kurt's tone during that song always sounded nasally to me and I'm starting to think that the DOD was used more than we think for that concert and the time he used it in general. Now, I'm not Kurt so I'm not entirely sure but I feel like Kurt may have been experimenting with his tone around this time. As we know, well at least I think we know, Kurt would often put on a front. Often saying things were a joke when they weren't. For example, In Utero. Kurt had claimed multiple times that In Utero was very impersonal but I think it's safe to say that it was far from it. I feel like he may have done the same with gear? Maybe? I don't know. I feel like Kurt genuinely wanted to give the DOD a try whilst using the "it's a joke" thing as a front before he abruptly discarded the pedal into the crowd. I'm probably off my rocker but just some food for thought maybe?
I wish I had money to buy at least two Reticon SAD1024 bucket brigade chips when they appear for sale online The chip that makes some of EHX's most famous pedals sound the way they do. I know a pedal maker who would totally make a polychorus/echoflanger clone and having that analog chip would be the icing on the cake.. I'd use the second chip to mod my EHX Small Clone reissue pedal.
Why is it that every picture of Krist playing even if he’s only in the background of the photo, that he always has an expression on his face that makes it look like he’s playing the absolute funkiest thing on the planet. Inhuman levels of funk.
Awesome it sounds exactly like it!!!! And i was wondering, will you ever get a mesa boogie studio preamp and crest poweramp for nevermind and in utero tones, if it already sounds amazing with the twin reverb, what would it sound like with a mesa boogie preamp and crest power amp
The fact you have proven Kurt Cobain has actually used the D.O.D grunge is huge. Since pawn stars, it’s assumed to never been used. I wonder if it was tossed into the crowd this very show. Even Reverbs video on Kurt cobains pedals told people otherwise as it’s always been believed to be true. Nirvana Guitars schools us again. 🤘🏻

I may or may not be putting hot rails back in my comp stang 😉 That'd be a perfect show to try for after that is done!

Yes. Another great show. 😃🥲
If you ever get a phase 1 custom hi flier you have to do buenos Aires 1992. Awesome show!
I can finally play The Man Who Sold The World thanks Eric. I struggled with the chords from other videos.

Nice to see the right pickguard and cut switches on your skystang haha
Nice! Are we ever going to see either a Dale Demo tone recreation or a Terminal Einz/Palatrussardi tone recreation?
FORUM FEEDBACK JAM PLSSSSSS your recreations are so accurate, I need to know how to play that incredible noise
That sounds really good man! I always loved the tone of LAL, its very beefy.
Great video! Yep you can definitely tell when that 'swarm of bees' DOD Grunge kicks in haha.
Fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for watching!!
@@NirvanaGuitars I love your work!!
Your videos are amazing.
Great vidéo! In the photos, you can also see the Boss DS-1 and DS-2.
Thank you! Which photos, of my pedals or the screenshots of Kurt's? He did not have a DS-1 or DS-2 at Live & Loud

Scentless Apprentice sounds literally so exact it’s scary.

I am just as obsessed with Buddy Holly's gear as I am Kurt's tbh. If the interest is there, I'd love to show it more!!

This is another perfect tone and great video! most of my nirvana knowledge comes from here.
are you going to do any pat smear tones in the future?
btw the tones are spot on
Amazing always wanted this sound
Bro you're the only person I've seen play Blew correctly
Amazing!!
You have very very good videos
