Really affordable accommodations for a small island off the beaten path. It is really good to get off the normal travel routes to actually how regular people survive day to day. I never realized the problems with the trash in their ecosystem until you put it here for us to see. Most people think that every island in the Pacific is a paradise but it is not true. The world oceans are not a trash dump and I don't think we should let our children deal with that legacy . Anthony thanks again for documenting the good and the bad.
I'm from kiribati, and yes I agree. I did not know how dirty Kiribati is till I live overseas returned and boy ...I cant believe I've lived like this..
The say it’s always around 27° there 24/7. Something to get used to. On the other hand: When the sun shines, it probably feels hottest, but that‘s when a solar powered AC would also work best. Where do the mosquitoes come from considering that it’s seawater and wind all around?
On AirBnb i can see Tuvalu but on Tarawa although name is written no one offer. May be they stopped the destination. Here in Ouvea, Lifou , Maré, isle of Pines etc no AirBnb because Melanesian people don’t know it i think. But many places you can sleep. In great Nouméa plentyful, even in Bourail.
Well nothing is listed probably because of covid and borders are closed. Same with trying to see how cheap flights are. They are either expensive or not flying right now. There were one or two in Kiribati, if I could remember. But in Tuvalu zero (at least in 2018)
@@aperezvoyages thank you for your reply. May be because of the covid n borders closure. I was born in Paris n at school only 3 hours per week for english n 3 hours for german learning. I think that AirBnb for Kiribati have closed before the sanitary crisis. If i good remember. I saw videos about Kiribati from Vic Stephanu and i enjoyed its. Abatao motu n even more further in northern Tarawa. Have you been to Kiritimati very far away in the east. In the north of west French Polynésia. France signed an agreement for that border with Line islands with Republic of Kiribati in Tarawa !!! I thought AirBnb stopped Kiribati because it was bad. But it is may be an other reason. Tchuss
Being naive as a military shows immaturity, which is deadly when it comes to confrontation. Although I suspect at senior level the American brass knows full well the US military is despite its size, marketing and technology base very mediocre in performance when it comes to pound for pound output. It takes maturity to own up to this as a country, admit your crimes, admit that you lied to your population and in fact tried to programme them for generations into thinking you were something you never were. All to keep the military industrial complex at float perpetually, while all they had to do was to be honest and change their business model. A bit of work there for you Americans, on different levels. Let us know if you need help.

Really weird to see Betio today totally developed into housing and residential areas.
I keep hearing the same! Will be weird returning but the culture and people are still beautiful 😁

Did you boil the water?
I used bottled water for drinking and cooking. 😄
Do you go bikeniebeu
Nope, just Tarawa, butaritari, and abaiang
@A. Perez Voyages I'm from Bikenibeu, you would have at least driven through. It's on South Tarawa not far from the airport.
With a bad knee I don’t think I would be able to out run the dogs. Will have to pass ha ha
