  • What's good, everyone?! Today's video features a look at an abandoned Burger King restaurant in North Charleston, SC. This former Burger King is located off of Dorchester Road, not too far from the Air Force Base, Joint Base Charleston. I am not sure when this location closed permanently, but I believe it was around 2019. Several other Burger King locations, including a similarly built restaurant located off of Ashley Phosphate Road that I've previously filmed. (VIDEO LINKED BELOW!) This location was broken into and vandalized several times over the years. So much so, that it was tightly boarded up, and has no inside access. Additionally, the crazy amount of boards provides ZERO visibility of the inside of this location, making it a thorough walk-around exploration. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy.
I hope you all enjoyed my visit of this abandoned Burger King in North Charleston, SC.

Thanks for the shout out! The BK on Rivers down near the church and Kmart is still not boarded up and it’s got some really good views inside. I’m surprised it hasn’t been vandalized yet. Good video!

Of course! Thank you for supporting! Yeah, I've been intending to film that location for a bit, but I haven't had the time. I'll try and head out that way soon.

The store on the base would be either the Exchange or Commissary (my dad was stationed in Charleston, and we shopped there regularly). I moved away back in 1997 and don’t recall that particular BK you visited. I wonder how long it was there? My fuzzy memories have a Taco Bell nearby that isn’t there now, and in that plaza to the left of BK, I think was the location of Sub Station, which was my favorite sandwich shop, i think they’re also sadly defunct. Love your videos, keep up the nice work!

Yes, I'm not sure when this Burger King opened. There is a good chance that it was another restaurant before BK opened. I do remember there being a BK at the Exchange, but I also remember it closing around the same time as this location. I believe there is a Sub Station II open further down Dorchester RD, but I may be wrong. Thank you for your support!

Wasn't this one a part of the majority of the Charleston area BKs that closed because the franchise company went bankrupt or something? That one closed up about the same time as the ones on Rivers near McMillan, Tanger, Sam Rittenberg, Ashley Phosphate, and a few more.
    Great videos! 😊

Yes, I believe many of the Charleston area Burger Kings that are currently closed did so around the same time. I'm not sure who they were owned by, but I believe the franchise did go bankrupt, as I have heard of similar things happening with Burger King locations in other areas of the country.
      Thank you for your support!

Yes, most times that I saw it, this location was decently busy. I believe the franchise group that owned this and a few other Charleston area locations went bankrupt, causing these to close permanently.

Looks identical to the one that's abandoned in Maple Heights OH. Most likely also built new in 1987. Such an odd ugly looking building!

I only ever ate at this location once. In that experience, the service was fine. I don't recall having any significant issues. I hope the ones near you improve soon.

all right day too of requesting the man to check out the abandon CVS, where the abandon Ryan's steakhouse is and where the abandon jersey Mike's subs is and where the abandon nail salon, title loans place and all this other stuff, and if you go down the road from the Burger King there's an abandoned Chuck E. Cheese

Thank you very much for your support! I apologize for responding to your comment so late. I am aware of an abandoned CVS in North Charleston. Are you saying there's one in West Ashley as well?
