Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! RUclips's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the 2007 Maybach 57 S. During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

The new one is not a Maybach, and never will be. They really need to legitimately bring back Maybach.
The reason they stopped the production of Maybach was because they had customers like you. They want to look at it from youtube, but never pay for one.

It's a shame that the new Maybach is just a rebadged S-Class.

And what do you think this was? A stretched S-Class with a different (and ugly looking) body and reclining seats in the 62's. At least that's what many potential customers - who ended up buying a Rolls instead - thought about the car. Maybach planned to sell 2000 cars per year. In reality, only a total of 3000 of all Maybach versions were sold over an entire decade.
Insane underrated car...
The Maybach seems down to earth on the outside compared to a Bentley or Rolls Royce, making it an excellent daily driver. I would like a used Maybach 57/57 S.

They made the most futuristic luxury car back in 2007, and it's better than new ones!
Also, the sound insulation is amazing. The difference at 22:08 between the doors open and the doors closed is spectacular!

It's a shame mybach has been reduced to a Mercedes trim level.
Although there is nothing wrong with the new S-class, it is a world class car, it just doesn't have the same spirit as the old Maybachs. These things were truly bespoke and could basically go nuts with the options. There is a Russian reviewer that tests these Maybachs back to back with the new S-Class. And even he claims that this old Maybach is NOT just a fancier, blown up S-class.

I just turned 18 and I'm buying a 2006 Malibu Maxx SS (It's a hatchback with 240 hp and 240 ft lbs of torque.) I'm paying most of it with money I've saved up from my job since I was 15. So excited to have it insured so I can drive it! It's an incredibly nice first car. Mine even has low miles.
I don't understand some of these comments, Mercedes did a great job with the maybach. The back is the same but the front and outside just looks like a normal mercedes

This is an amazing car!! The other day I had the enormous pleasure of being inside of a 57s (and even got a ride in it!) and it was sooooo good. It was the best ride I've ever had in a car!

I can see why some premium customers might have felt the Maybach was not "special" enough, as it has the same key, gauges, switchgear, etc. as the CL I bought for $7500 secondhand. The finishes do look absolutely exceptional: It's familiar, yet everything is taken one or two notches higher. However, if you look at Rolls-Royce vs. BMW or Bentley vs. VW Group products, there's almost no visual overlap. I'm afraid maybe that was Maybach's shortcoming.
aekimchee2 yes, I was definitely noticing the same gauges in a Mercedes CL550 I frequently drive.
The switchgear is bespoke. Only the indicator stalk is carried over. The buttons on the steering wheel aren't quite the same as they're made of wood.
The facelift did however get the W221's window switches which is regrettable and inexcusable.
@@ScapoloMichael Perhaps the switchgear IS bespoke, but that only illustrates my point - the product design is insufficiently differentiated for untrained eyes.
Having a “family look” in your lineup is not an advantage in the ultra-luxe segment, where you don’t necessarily want to be reminded that your car shares DNA with a C-Class.
This is my future family car when I'm 30 lol there's actually a 2004 57 for $84k !!! I'm definitely getting it !

The V12 is what sold me on this car: I should know as I own the 2011 6.0 liter V12 version.
This is not rapper car, this a car for people that have money, if got that money and you like it, you buy it, and not every rapper got a Maybach, because a Maybach is to expensive to afford, if i got that kind money i would buy me one, and awsome upload Kyle
Although I very much more prefer the Rolls Royce vehicles, I must admit the Maybach is a very well built car. Something that reaches the nearest levels of perfection.
And it's soo luxurious and elegant you feel like meeting Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II...!

Maybach uses the exact same 6.0L V12 engine found in the Pagani Huayra, and that accumulated 1,000,000km. Also, all used AMG V12 vehicles are in their 80,000-100,000 miles (not km) without any major problems. I'd like to see Honda build a 12-cylinder engine and reach 1,000,000km without any major problems.

On the way to look at the car, I actually saw two. Perhaps it's because I was looking for them in the back of my mind. I didn't know this car existed a week ago. The SS version is rare, less than 2,000 were made. Kind of on the pricey side but it's a nice car.

The car is pre-owned, notice 2007 in the title. A dealerships pre-owned inventory is usually from several different brands.
Varies. If you're looking for an 'S' model 57 in this year, expect around 160,000-220,000. If you want the basic first runners (57 Base; 2004,2005), you can pick them up for 90,000-120,000.

I don't see why they went defunct. Check the 2011 62 S model. It's AMAZING! I've seen most Bentleys and Rolls on this channel, and then I've seen the 2011 Maybach. It's a whole different level above them. It has luxury like no other car, that I know of.. Privacy shades, separated back seats, reclining seats, electric opaque-variable sunroof, most of the thing are automated. It may be expensive, but it's the top of the line.
Comparing that to a Rolls I've recently seen, it's like it's a tin can.
And this is seriously a car for al pacinos scarface, to along with his gold played jacuzzi. But still a very beautiful and attention-detailed vehicle.

Good luck getting replacement parts for this. As I recall, Maybach is not being made anymore.
It´s an old s-class(w140 base and w220)....so there will be no shortage of replacement parts any time soon.

Car Guy Daimler announced in November 2011 that Maybach will cease to be a brand by 2013 and manufactured the last Maybach vehicle in December 2012. This was due to poor sales, with only 3,000 cars sold since the brand's revival in 2002

There's very little S class in this car, and those parts that are used, were 15 years ahead of their time in 1999 anyway, so its no big deal. The fact that this is one of 4-5 best cars in the world made now just proves that.

Well that's the thing, this isn't a car you hope to one day drive, this is a car you hope to one day get driven in.
I do agree to an extent. It's a heavy thing, so it needs a fair amount of grunt to get it to move. I think it's more there just to make it a bit more appealing. If they said it had an economical flat-four, you might just go "Ehh".

these used babies now cost around 100k eur in almost as new condition, hope they will depreciate in the next ten years to around 40k eur for a very good one and then i'll be able to buy one.. but i want a two tone paintjob
