Also a good counter to the light and dark teams is Tenebris, Brusbar, Angus, Sylvia and Eden
People should add a weak defense, you only get credited for 5 defense wins. Web player here
if only the thing would actually keep track of defense wins I would switch as soon as I had 5, but most days I don't find out about my defense wins until they get mailed to me the "next day".
Moloch, ignis araji tenebris and hyperion works well for some of the light/dark titans teams

Day 2 - Solaris/Amon/Moloch/Ignis/Araji works well against most "117" Light/Dark teams, and the Top Row 5 are used against the "929" OG Elements teams. Amon is the lowest ranked Light Marksman, but combined with a fast Fire Totem does enough damage to take out the Light /Dark teams, with a few RNG losses.
When facing the default: Solaris, Brustar, Rigel, Tenebris, and Mort. Solaris, Brustar, Rigel, Tenebris and AMON, sees to work well
Against: Solaris, Brustar, Iyari, Tenebris, and Mort attacking with Solaris, Brustar, Rigel, Tenebris, and Iyari seems to work well

As a "learning experience", it would be nice if battles could be reviewed at the end of the battle, rather than having to navigate through several menus to find it in the Log. (this has been a conspicuous omission in other Special Event battles as well)

OMG, I did not know that training area was a thing. What a game changer. And that is why I sub to you. Update : Finished day 1 after doing the simulations.
Only a few things are random in titan battles, e.g. which one Eden pulls. (And which targets Amon picks if there's no stunned enemy).
If neither of those things are involved on either side, you'll get an identical result in combat training every time assuming you leave it on auto, and it'll match the actual brawl.
I'd still click "retry" a few times just to make sure I'm not missing something.
One key to victory if both teams have light totems is that your light totem activates second, if both teams are going to be are near-zero HP after. You're immortal while it lasts, and it does damage at the end, so if you activate right after theirs on manual, that can be a way to try to get a win if you have spare lives near the end of the quest and don't want to spend forever finding a reliable counter-team. This can mean sitting on your light totem until it charges up to like 150%, which means it does extra damage.
Sometimes the same team wins on offense, e.g. the top row (most powerful titans) win a mirror match against the same team on defense IIRC.
I had a lot of success with Tenebris + Brustar (dark super + tank) with Solaris, Amon, Rigel (the light titans other than the healer). I ran that without checking combat training against many teams, including some that had both light and dark titans. But fairly mixed success rate against light+dark teams. Once I was down to 3 lives left I started checking combat training against such teams, and I think I maybe had one loss against a team that wasn't light+dark so I started checking when I thought there was more risk of a loss.
For light&dark titans, elemental armor on offense works like you'd expect, only defending against the other type. On defence it works against both light and dark, so light against light favours the defense for example.
Elemental damage only works against the other type, but is twice as effective on offense for light+dark titans (unlike for elemental: earth/air/water where it's always just normal).
So Light titans on defense only get bonus damage against dark attackers, but their armor works against dark and light. So when you're attacking, it's generally better to bring more of the opposite shade than the defenders are running, e.g. 3 light + 2 dark against a defense of 2 light + 3 dark. But skills and synergy matter a lot, too, and timing of energy and when ults and totems activate.
1:22 I believe that assumption about Tenebris and Solaris' skins being available next Brawl is off. I believe the next Brawl will have Hyperion, Araji, and Eden's skins, then Tenebris and Solaris would be the one after that.
I think I figured out the disconnect. The Brawl battles do not appear to give skins to Tenebris or Solaris while the chat based battles do. This makes them a poor place to test teams.
When I run the battles in chat battle I win every time but when I use them in the brawl I lose every time. Something is amiss
I mostly change Keros with either Hyperion or Sigurd, when I run into a Light/Darkness team. Most of the time I get a pretty high win rate in my practice and end up winning the actual fight too

Buster, Rigel, Keros, Solaris, Tenebris. This team can defeat most element teams, except light & darkness, and also Fire & Darkness teams. I also saw that the spreadsheet of previous light & darkness teams is no longer valid due to new skins I believe. Hopefully new teams will be available to defeated light & darkness teams.
This 3 day new Tenebris event just ended last night on mobile. We had the brawl during the event which is now over. I got a new 6 Star Tenebris out of the event. Most fun as a palette cleanser since the Laura Croft event.
so my actual titans are punching up on teams twice their power level, im beginning to see why they won't let me have a tornado

Sorry, this event makes no sense..when you lose to a team that has 10k less than your team..makes no sense...sorry,...I just dont have the time to go test
Power level just adds up total stats; it doesn't account for differences in which skills work well together so of course it's not going to predict the outcome when it's only a 10k difference out of 1.1 million! That's only a 1% difference. Team composition and totems matter a lot more.
Power level doesn't even account for totems boosting some titans but not others, e.g. if you bring 2 light + 2 dark plus one random elemental titan, that solo titan won't have a totem boosting its stats, but the team power level doesn't account for that.
And of course power level doesn't account for the details of energy and timing of ultimates and totems, which are usually what make the difference, especially light totem being active during a big AoE so your titans can't die. (e.g. the other team's light totem; if your activates second, while the other team's is still active, you can't die from its implosion at the end, but yours will implode right after the other team loses that protection.)
When you do too many brawls in series...

They are having the Titan Brawl event on the FB/Web game version. As the same event with Tenebris just ended last night on mobile.
brustar - mort - tenebris - rigel - solaris (this team can beat itself too if you attack someone who has this team as defense)
brustar - keros - tenebris - iyari solaris (wins against the team above)
full light team. (doesnt win against 3 fire and two teams above, rest is ok)
these are the only 3 teams you need.
2 dark and 3 fire work good for me.
