Back in Dec '21 my niece found a 4wo kitten wandering around a dumpster at the church next door. They couldn't find an owner and her dad wouldn't let her keep it so she asked if I could take care of it instead. I've always been a dog person (and coincidentally more connected to Odin), but I felt led to take the kitten in and name her Freya because of the chariot symbolism and I like the song by The Sword. She's been a wonderful addition to this canine household and I can't imagine the past year without her and her sassy independence. It absolutely blew me away when your cat came on screen because it looks just like my Freya except for the nose. I came to this video because I've felt led to work more with Freya recently and now I know without a doubt that she wants me to work with her as well. You easily could've left your cat out of the video, to wait for it to leave, to shoo it away, whatever, but you didn't. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, but moreso thank you and your cat for being a sign!
I had to seek this video out after I believe I had my first sign from Freyja. I have been job hunting for some time now, since August, and nothing has stuck. Recently, I applied for the only job I really wanted, a bookselling position, and was given the opportunity for an interview later this morning (it is currently 5:30am and the interview starts at 10:15am). Waking up during the night, I went downstairs to smoke and as I did, I saw an unfamiliar cat sitting on the wall just outside where I sit. We have two cats, both ragdolls, and this was a white and ginger cat. As I noticed it, it was staring at me with purpose, sitting in a regal posture and in the same instance we locked eyes, it turned away and left. With two cats to guard the territory of my home, I have never before seen one approach the house so close in our garden, and this one was already so close by the time I noticed it, it could have been waiting for me to see for some few minutes. Earlier in the night, I had been wearing my Mjolnir and reciting the names of all the gods I am the most knowledgeable about: Odin, Thor, Tyr, Frejya, Frey, Baldur, Loki...in that order, maybe a dozen times. I was secretly wishing for my success with the interview later today abd I believe this was a sign from or even the beginning of a relationship qith Freyja, either sending the cat or appearing in cat form to tell me I will hold the reins and be successful in this venture.
I absolutely love your channel. It has been such a help in my journey to the Norse deities. But your cat stole the show this time. 😍😆 On a serious note, thank you for starting this series. It is proving to be really informative and useful.
I’m new to this practice but I decided to focus on Freyja because I just got out of a long relationship and wanted her help creating a bindrune to attract love. I had to use a virtual altar, I know those are not a substitute for the real thing but it was all I had access to at the time, and I played videos dedicated to her with music and chanting and I know it may sound strange but while I drew the bindrune after calling out to her and while listening to the music, I could feel her guiding my hand and helping me empower the rune.

I stumbled across your channel after feeling a strong obsessive push to do some in-depth research on Norse Paganism this last weekend. I want to say thank you for this video on Freya and I will be watching all of your videos as well as listen to your podcast. Not to mention reading the recommended texts (ordered and awaiting their arrival). I’ve been fascinated with Norse Paganism since high school but was unsure of if the path was right for me. I stuck with the general Paganism practices and did my dedication ceremony in 2013 as a solitary practitioner of Paganism with no clear path chosen. It was a wonderful moment and I felt welcomed with open arms. I opted to follow the deity Bastet and have been for almost 10 years until I got this recent obsessive push. When I saw this video, a lot of realizations hit and it felt like Bastet pushed me here to have Freya step forward and welcome me as I had felt an overwhelming onslaught of emotions of excitement, celebration, happiness and welcoming. I have to say with humor, respect and love…..that I have been traded from one “crazy cat lady” to another. And after the 24 hour nonstop positive emotional rollercoaster I’ve been on since watching this video and pulling up info online, I am grateful to Bastet for the time I had with her and blessed to feel Freya welcome me with open arms. I have been showing my children your videos thank you for your time and effort! I have been practicing for about 4 years after the loss of my youngest child and being called by Odin my whole life, just didn't know it. I was surrounded by toxic religion that made me feel crazy for being connected to the Gods especially Odin and for questioning things since I was a child. When my daughter passed I was VERY connected to Odin and Thor and I told everyone to let me be and I have found my way. I enjoy your views and sharing a lot of the same findings I have come across doing my research in search of the historical truth and findings of our history. I am autistic and things have to make sense to me in a factual stand point so I have always been obsessed with history and research. I have fully embraced my path and beliefs over the passed 4 years now and it's been the most strengthening and empowering time of my life. I have stories upon stories of Odin showing me I am doing exactly as I should. I hope to eventually contribute and be a part of everything you are building. I get a rise in my soul just listening to all the knowledge! Hail Odin!!!
I love your standpoint and your perspective of boundaries. I think most Americans are brainwashed from the churches influence from a young age. It takes an open mind and a steady mind to begin separating our inner truths from the stories we were taught. Feeling and learning about ourselves and what we truly feel opens our hearts and souls to our inner truth, inner faith and inner wisdom. Keeping those strict boundaries with ourselves and with our families can be quite a challenge within themselves. But our belief in “our” chosen Gods and Godesses is somthing no man or woman can take away from us. It’s woven deep in our souls. Yet shines through us like the sunlight. Blessed Be and much 💕 love 😻
@Blood Feather I'm Christian, and I'm not brainwashed into Christianity. I'm Christian because God has called me. I'm Christian because the experiences pagans and other people who practice anything to do with spirituality have I have them with God. I'm Christian because it makes sense, and above all, it's true, independent of my feelings towards it. If people are called by other spiritual beings to worship them, people have the free will to do so, but you don't have to put down Christians when you don't even understand Christianity.
@@sally9352 Christianity like all monotheism religions is they were politics. Think of the Bible Quran Torah as a constitution. That’s what the church used for centuries of control war and political persecution and oppression.
@Kayra Han No, we don't believe in three God's. We believe in one God in three persons. (1) as the Creator, Lord of the history of salvation, Father and judge, as revealed in the Old Testament; (2) as the Lord who, in the incarnate figure of Jesus Christ, lived among humans and present in their midst as the "Resurrected One"; and (3)as the Holy Spirit, as the Holy Spirit, whom we experience as the Helper or intercessor in the the power of the new life. To understand this, you have to experience all three. I believe it because of my experiences. Reading the Bible does not make it real. It's the supernatural experiences that I have with God, the Trinity that I know it is true. Historical evidence lets me know what happened in the Bible is true, along with my spiritual experiences with the Holy Spirit. The prophecies that are coming to pass also let's me know that Christianity is true. There are only two paths, Christianity or paganism. One has to be true.
@@daltonslayton6766 wow that’s amazing. I’ve seen so many NDE’s and I have never heard one with Freya. That’s amazing. Thanks for sharing. Now I want to look for more stories like yours
I've been doing ancestor work recently and discovered my ancestors from my dad's side were vikings from Denmark and they worshipped Freya. Thankyou so much for your video you answered alot of my questions
I absolutely love your videos, they have helped me out a lot starting my journey saying I’ve come from a very Christian household and I’d love to sit down or go on a hike and speak about the gods and signs.
my name is a mutation of Freyja as my dad was from Norway and greatly believes in Norse mythology, this video has been great widening my knowledge of the heritage of my name:)
I’ve just reentered into deity work and found the idea of working with Freyja appealing, and then two days later I saw a cat cross the road in front of me in an area almost no one has outdoor cats. She’s been so visible in my life and I have loved working with her so far, she is truly an amazing goddess.
I first heard of Freya in the last kingdom and then again in God of war 4 now watching the Vikings about Ragnar Lothbrok been in love with Norse mythology ever since
As your cat walk in the field of view of the camera I went "what the f is my cat doing there!?!" with a smile. What a "coincidence" eh ? That cat has been grabbing my attention lately and I kinda get why now. Great content and I’ll happily like and suscribe
If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest watching Freyia Norling's newer video on her take regarding Freyja. Super interesting. Her channel in general is pretty great. Like yours. Its not always easy to find great videos on Nordic practices.
I'd like to thank you for your informative video, it was very insightful for a beginner into understanding the Norse mythology ❤ After hearing you talk about Freya taking half the souls and having a hall for them, I had an interesting thought. I've been watching C dramas of the Ming and Qing dynasty, there is a recurring theme of pregnancy/labor is also a round or a foot stepping into death due to complications from it. When I think about it that way and to ancient woman, bearing children was (more) risky than it is today, it would make sense to me that Freya would be apart of love, pregnancy, labor, and death. Thanks again 🥰
12:12 I heard one of Freya’s epithets is Blotgydja which from what I’ve searched means sacrificial priestess so maybe this explains why she’s making sacrifices to the gods.
I see you've got the best translations and versions of the 2 Edda! 🤗🤗🤗 As I just said in your latest video a few min. ago, I'm catching up! I should've started with your oldest videos, but as soon as I saw your newest, I just had to watch it. So I apologize. As a woman who wants total equality between men and women (I'm definitely a NON man-hater. I adore men and don't want to emasculate them at all), I adore Freya for her will to take her own sexuality into her own hands, and demand equal respect (regarding men) for it. She's brilliant. And from my seidhr journeys, Thor has always been a gentle god towards me, as well as a lovely gentleman in my eyes, just as he was for Freya.
The cat see's ❤️🔥 I had a vision once of her collecting the souls of birds, overseeing the earth's chaos like wars, death... Also filling the world with light (my experience my opinion) and at the time I was still attending highschool 😭 never read a book, never used the internet for research so to start learning about her now after many years of her showing up in my dreams and visions this is truly uncanny and interesting. 🍻
Thank u so much because as a woman it’s good to be able to hear a balanced approach to a strong historic female goddess. 👑 I think many cultures have problems with their strong feelings about women - Men are allowed to be handsome, knowledgeable, with weaknesses, and still be revered. Whereas society oftentimes has problems, allowing women to be as multifaceted as male leaders and still be respected, loved & honored as humans with strengths and weaknesses- rather than defiled for the defiler’s own projected weaknesses. And I LOVE ur Kitty! Maybe ur kitty’s ancestors were Freya’s chariot cats 🐱

I am fairly new to being a norse pagan myself, however I had been looking into it for some time, I knew that I truly wanted to learn more, and I promised that I would take the time to really learn. When I decided that this was truly was what was right for me, that this is truly who I am, I still somewhat felt like I needed some kind acceptance or permission as you will, to say that it is right for me to call myself a norse pagan and to say I belong here. Until a few nights ago, now in particular I had felt the pull towards Freyja, I felt that's where my strongest connection was, then a few nights ago, I taking the time to look more into her and I feel she gave me her presence, she gave me her time, I felt her love, and when I closed my eyes all I could see was a golden glow, it all felt like I was being given that acceptance, that permission that I felt I needed, and that is an experience I truly will hold dear to my heart each and every day. I didn't know where to share this but knew I wanted to share this with you.

About the twin connection between Freya and her brother, I don’t know exactly how things where perceived in this countries back then, but as you said it is a common theme. And in my understanding, the references is not always brotherly or familiar, sometimes it also represents complementary, like twin flames, or male and female energy of the same thing, as a complement or as god and goddess being one with two sides. So I imagine that it is to be understood eventually from a different perspective then our modern one…
I'm trying to learn more of Freya. I believe I may have confused a sign from her as a sign for Odin and a bad day as being from Loki whereas the hawk that flew in front of my car within inches may have been Freya and the following bad day may have been my punishment for not correcting myself.
I’m having a baby girl in December her name is going to be Antanina which means praise worthy and priceless, freyja because I think she has such a beautiful build on personality and she is just so lovely Kay cause Kay is my sisters middle name long. Long name but it’s meaningful

Freya has many names, one is Menglöð and you kan read about her and the 9 maidens or disìr on Lyfjaberg. Hlif, Hlifthrasa, Blith, Bjort, Thjodvara, Bleik, Frith, Eir and Aurboða. Each of them healers in different skills, and Freya/Menglöð have all their skills Svipdag asks bout them v51-58 in the Edda and Fjolsvith (Odin?) ansvers 😊 And we use to think that Freyas cats was two lynx
Eye was looking through my moms genealogy, eye found a pencil written note that indicated denmark and norway Being part of it. Eye went back later to read it again, and it was gone, never to be seen again. Her people were of those who landed in pembrokeshire wales. Anyway might explain my draw to norse mythology
I feel where Loki calls her a witch as an insult is again the Christian side coming in, Christians called woman Witchs as insult and to have them burnt alive etc. woman are naturally healers knowing how to work with herbs etc which were seen as magick or (evil by Christians ) being a witch in fact isn’t a bad thing it’s just how it was seen by the church folk
One thing that stands out immediately to me is that Freya's 'boar' is mentioned, as you read out, in the Voluspa en Skamma. And is said to have been 'made' by two dwarves. If it were a manufactured object, that glowed, what could that possibly be??? I think it's possible that Freya's 'boar' was in fact some form of oil lamp. And it was recorded as being a 'boar' due to the fact that oil lamps of the time and place were known as boars due to the fact that they were fuelled with what was probably the most common form of oil available to them - tallow (animal fat) from pigs/swine. It is rather conjectural, and there is of course no proof whatsoever. But it does make sense that a goddess would be in possession of an exquisitely crafted OIL LAMP that GLOWED. And was known as a 'boar' as it's fuel was swine tallow. Very interesting. In fact I have just found that there are quite a few archaeological finds from the Roman Empire which are indeed cast terracotta oil lamps which have a boar emblem on the top. "A cat driven by chariots..". He heee. (20.34)

One has to be true.
i love Freyja she’s my matron and a friend, i’m excited to watch
Not me having the name Freyja and being Icelandic 💀
Freya saved me. I have met her. And she is so kind
I want to know more… are you willing to share?
@kimberlypicone1312 Oh yeah, I died and met her. She sent me back because I have something to do
@@daltonslayton6766 wow that’s amazing. I’ve seen so many NDE’s and I have never heard one with Freya. That’s amazing. Thanks for sharing. Now I want to look for more stories like yours
@@kimberlypicone1312 I'm sure there are others.
@@rehm402 I woke up in Folkvagnr. She was tall and blond. She has a kind face but also seems like she can fight at a moment.
I've always been close with Freyja. I love her.
I'm so glad you don't take yourself so seriously! It makes watching your videos and learning more about my faith sooo much easier
my name is a mutation of Freyja as my dad was from Norway and greatly believes in Norse mythology, this video has been great widening my knowledge of the heritage of my name:)
Loved your video!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge 🙏🏻🤍
I’ve just reentered into deity work and found the idea of working with Freyja appealing, and then two days later I saw a cat cross the road in front of me in an area almost no one has outdoor cats. She’s been so visible in my life and I have loved working with her so far, she is truly an amazing goddess.
Super informative and compact. Thank you!
So excited for a whole week of content on my lady.
This was very informative and insightful. Thank you!
If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest watching Freyia Norling's newer video on her take regarding Freyja. Super interesting. Her channel in general is pretty great. Like yours. Its not always easy to find great videos on Nordic practices.
I love Freyia's videos, too. The video on Freyia is amazing.
She has a whole vibe and I love it. 💕💕
12:12 I heard one of Freya’s epithets is Blotgydja which from what I’ve searched means sacrificial priestess so maybe this explains why she’s making sacrifices to the gods.
my mother named me after freyja, and after hearing all of this I feel even more connected to her…
I see you've got the best translations and versions of the 2 Edda! 🤗🤗🤗
As I just said in your latest video a few min. ago, I'm catching up!
Thor was a great Protector for me for over a decade until I felt Freya's presence take over.
I really enjoyed watching this! I learned a lot about Freya and today is Friday 💓 Thank you for taking the time to create this✨
And I come from freyasland(friesland)
The cat see's ❤️🔥
I had a vision once of her collecting the souls of birds, overseeing the earth's chaos like wars, death...
Well I've been wondering about my deity for awhile and this speaks to me a lot. Also a kitty showed up at my door and we're in December in the mid mountains 🏔️ winter. So that's my sign
Polar,
Addressing those that I'm made to think are being funny. Apologies if I'm wrong. Someone tried to break in my backdoor as I was typing earlier. Life of a targeted being.
Is it what it seems? Or something to bait me out of my house? Or?
I say polar because I've been accused of it. It doesn't apply. I have issues, not that one. ☮️
My cats have been acting stranger while I’ve been playing this.
I have had connections and more pull to the GODS in past 20 years, Odin Freya, Thor… my ancient ancestors too.
Let’s connect and follow

Very good video. This has probably been one of the most informative series on the old gods I've seen so far.
The video was already great, the cat tho made it even better 💜
Great, video your voice and attitude is perfect for Norse mythological videos

Her name caught my interest a couple weeks ago and I did some research which then lead to me doing a meditation with her at first I didn't feel very much but I did another one today and as soon as I said her name in my mind my ears started ringing very loud and was filled with an amazing feeling one I wish I could discribe now I want to just learn more about her

Excellent video Jacob, may the gods and goddesses continue pouring there knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to you!!! Skal 💀🍻
Omg 😳 this is all new to me and just hearing you talk makes me realize I have so much to learn. It’s a bit overwhelming
Thankyou for these videos!!! Cant wait for the next one
I love how you try to pronounce the words. I try also, i found Jackson Crawfords pronunciation guide at the beginning of the poetic edda helps.
I'm learning, but there was a cat at my doorstep today after work (work from home) not sure about signs and things but this is all extremely interesting
Freya is also goddess of Vanir sorcery and witchcraft.
Loved this!! Thank you!! I'm new to being a norse pagan and am grateful to you for your episodes!
In my case, They've been with me for about 28 years, but I'm happy the younger generations are discovering them!
Thanks for these videos mate! Dropping a comment for the algorithm :)

Probably originally filled the role of the sky father and the dawn goddess but along the way ended up changing to fill the roles of the divine twins.
Great stuff, thanks for sharing.
Great video. Thanks
I'm trying to learn more of Freya. I believe I may have confused a sign from her as a sign for Odin and a bad day as being from Loki whereas the hawk that flew in front of my car within inches may have been Freya and the following bad day may have been my punishment for not correcting myself.
I have the exact same statue at my altar as the one on the thumbnail ❤️
I NAMED MY DAUGHTER FREYJA!!!! she was born on August 4th of last year!!! :)
It seems a lot of us Norsemen and women are led back to mythology. It's our ancestors calling I believe

Freya has many names, one is Menglöð and you kan read about her and the 9 maidens or disìr on Lyfjaberg. Hlif, Hlifthrasa, Blith, Bjort, Thjodvara, Bleik, Frith, Eir and Aurboða. Each of them healers in different skills, and Freya/Menglöð have all their skills
Svipdag asks bout them v51-58 in the Edda and Fjolsvith (Odin?) ansvers 😊
And we use to think that Freyas cats was two lynx
Eye was looking through my moms genealogy, eye found a pencil written note that indicated denmark and norway
Being part of it. Eye went back later to read it again, and it was gone, never to be seen again. Her people were of those who landed in pembrokeshire wales. Anyway might explain my draw to norse mythology
my name is freya and i rly like norse mythology and i have 2 cats weird right
I propose Freyja is married to Odin's brother. Because one of the traits the brothers give to humans can be translated as "odr"
I wanna start getting into this religion. A dragonfly landed on my hand today and I heard that that's a sign of hers.
What a sweet cat you have!!!
would you be willing to do a video on Freyr? This content is amazing, thank you!
He heee. (20.34)
