Note the great men and their praise of the Traditional Latin Mass. You simply do not hear the Novus Ordo described as having "majesty and beauty." Attend the Latin Mass.
+JMJ The Mystical Body of Christ is offered in Holy Sacrifice to the Father in unity with the Holy Ghost in the holy Mass of the Ages. The Faithful of the Church Militant together with the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Church Triumphant and Church Suffering offers the perfect Sacrifice in adoration, thanksgiving and reparation to God in every time and place. In Him and through His Blood we are redeemed. Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has bestowed on us in Christ every spiritual blessing in the heavens!
In using the term "Rite," do we play into the hands of Vatican forces that would corral surviving TLM parishes into something like the Ordinariate, where we can be managed and permanently "othered?"
No. There have always been many rites in the Church. And a rite has a specific definition. The Roman Rite is what we had from ancient times until 1955 or so. A mangled version lasted until 1969. Then a new rite was introduced alongside it. See my book "The Once and Future Roman Rite" for a full account of this. If you are referring to the idea of creating a separate ritual body like the Ordinariate, then yes, I would say this is not an ideal solution, although it could be accepted and worked with, and would in fact give a lot more freedom than we currently have.
+JMJ And the Magisterium must faithfully preserve the Deposit of the Faith and honor Tradition. If it doesn't do that then it's not the Magisterium. It's of man and not of the Holy Ghost.
According to the current "magistrate," I could become a Hindu or Scientologist tomorrow and still be considered an "obedient" follower. Now tell me that makes sense.
@@HarryTwoDogs you have a partial selection of the truth. he said "there is only one God." He was using inter faith dialog. All religions that seek God is not always a bad thing. As St. Paul says about the Pagans. They are still trying to seek God, just not the right God. This is what Pope Francis was saying. Paul was directing those who were seeking God into the direction of the God we follow. Francis is brilliant in many ways and does not get the credit he deserves because his ways usually fly over the heads of the disconnected Catholics.
Thank you Dr. Kwasniewski for the very thoughtful reply.
I was in Lublin, Poland and thrilled by the traditional Rite. I read masses in TLM

True "Tradition" of the church is obedience to the magistrate.
