I am using the Crispi Guide GTX 10” boot. I am very happy with this boot but it is a very stiff boot. I don’t have the best ankles and prefer the stiffer support that they offer. They are designed for western style hunting in terrain where you need to side hill. With that said, I still love them for hunting and hiking here in the Northeast.
You will rub through that material. You don't wanna run knee pads underneath. You should be able to tie a loop on the side zipper and pull it from the bottom. Idk how the zippers are on that new system. They prolly made it with tiny zippers with no loop hole didn't they. I know you can put a saddle underneath the solitude and it works perfectly through the zipper area and but hides your saddle. Works good if you have your saddle on and then wanna throw the bibs on
I have like $2000 worth of FL but I really want a pair of those foundry catalyst pants. What do you think about them vs the price. I'm not spot and stalking. Mainly tree and base tree hunting. O have absolutely no use for the foundry corragute or obsidian. But I find the catalyst interesting for some reason. I own all the respective foundry line in regular form though. Catalyst being my least favorite pant but still a great pant
So far I am pleased with them. My catalyst soft shell pant has been my go to piece for a few years. This foundry version is slightly heavier and I expect them to be slightly warmer. The waterproof membrane will be nice when walking through tall grass when it’s wet out. The full length zipper will be nice since the soft shell version of the catalyst has no leg zipper and forces you to take your boots off to remove the pant.
@@DoItThenOutdoors yah that's what I was thinking. By the time I decide to pull the catalyst out I don't wanna get wet and the durability seems good. I'd like a heavier sturdier pant like that. Honestly I thought about maybe making the foundry catalyst a go to saddle pant and just use the knee pads and just not worrying about roughing that soft shell out on the knees. Just a strick saddle pant maybe
What is your honest opinion on the Catalyst Foundry pant material as far as noise? I have not worn them hunting, but just ordered a pair. Out of the box I immediately feel they are far too loud for the whitetail woods/in a tree. I want to be wrong because the features of the pants are great. Do they 'break in' at all and become quieter with more and more use?
I love mine and used them for both saddle hunting and ground hunting. They do make noise but I never thought it was an issue. The older catalyst soft shell is very quiet but doesn’t have the features. I can’t say they get quieter over time but like I said earlier I never was really concerned with the noise. Trust your gut, if you are worried about the noise maybe you should consider returning them. Being confident in your gear is more important than the actual gear, does that make sense?
Great review. But please stop saying “pant”. Unless you only have one leg, you are wearing pants. There is a reason they are a “pair of pants”. Each leg is a pant.
Do you need to adjust sizing on your saddle for the solitude bib vs early season set up? Great video! Really helpful
Good video guys. Thanks for the detail!
Is the Cataylst foundry heavier weight than the Corrugate foundry?
Yes the Cataylst is warmer than the corrugate
Hey Dan, love the channel. Question, what boots are you wearing in this video and how do you like them? Thanks!

White tail Catalyst bib - how do you feel about sizing

There is a loop on the zipper. I will most likely run my trophy line knee pads and remove the FL pads. Save them for ground hunting.

@@DoItThenOutdoors Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated. And I do agree, confidence in your gear is a must.
