The thing about Banjo Tooie is that the original release already had widescreen support. They didn't touch it or leverage it from the Xbox Live version. It was already there to begin with

SquareEnix to me is always going to be the most stubborn company in the video game industry. Like I get AAA Games have ballooned in price, but Square to me constantly is like “Okay but this should be making ALL THE MONEY” when a game only makes a “lot of money.”
Makes me question what their sales numbers and profits actually are. I know they were into crypto/ NFTs for a bit. Wouldn’t be surprised if they say a lot of stuff flops for taxes/ businesses purposes.

Because it was a good show. If there is nothing negative then it's no news when it comes to xbox. They showed great games with diverse gameplay. But no words about it because it was no one other there normal shit shows

I’ve been juggling between Vision of Mana, Metaphoria, Silent Hill 2 Remake and Broken Sword. Before that I was switching between Astrobot and the Plucky Squire. Could care less about Live Service games.
I've been wanting to play through Banjo again and now I can cause I can play it portability.
Also we need a proper Banjo 3...Nuts & Bolts wasn't it haha.
2:51 Dark Duel Stories!? That game was super fun when I was a kid. It's one of the few Gameboy games that I still have a physical copy of. That and the original Kirby's Dreamland
Squaresoft, now Squeenix, had never had a creative issue that I am aware of. It's always been an executive suite issue. Forspoken might be an exception, but Inget the feeling someone got tasked with a Squee-suite initiative rather than a project they wanted. The best part of Forspoken was collecting the cats and visiting them in the cottages. You can tell they cared about this aspect of the game when making it. The rest is a checklist and it shows (Yes, I have a Platinum in Forspoken + DLC)
Judkin was the show runner for Wheel of Time, so this is likely good news in my opinion. That show had potential but it wasn’t any good. I hope they find a decent replacement

I generally don't watch these state of play or direct type things, since I know you'll do a great job summarising it.
Honestly PS5 not moving up in Japan makes sense because 1: there is a recession there right now, 2: inflation is bad over there at the moment, 3: they increased the price and PS5 was already expensive anyway, 4: people don’t make as much money over there compared to the US.
Recipe for not selling big numbers.

Konami has done well recently. Castlevania collections, Silent Hill 2, this Yugioh collection… The mere fact that a legitimate competitive card is packed in with each physical game (albeit 1 of 2 artworks) is a nice bonus.
@@The_Phoenix_Saga I absolutely agree and another hidden gem in my opinion is the DS game Nightmare Troubadour. But I would be happy with a PS1/PS2 and GameCube collection: Forbidden Memories, Duelist of the Roses, Capsule Monster Coliseum and the GameCube game Falsebound Kingdom.

Microsoft failed to ever really make the Banjo IP ever really feel like theirs. All we have had from them was one pretty controversial new game, two remasters and some cameos. There’s still two more games in the franchise they can put out for NSO, Grundy's Revenge and Banjo Pilot on GBA.

They need to include the PS2/GC YuGiOh games in that collection. Duelist of the Roses was an amazing game. And Falsebound Kingdom was unique. Never got to play the Coliseum game on PS2, but that would great to see as well.
Banjo tooie already had a widescreen option on the n64. I don't think it's nintendo's big achievement that it's 16:9 😅 but I hope nintendo's emulator works fine with the game. Project64 has its issues with it

That joycon stand is unbelievably overpriced. You can get 3rd party officially licensed chargers that either charge 4 joycon or a pro controller at the same time for the same price.

A true banjo-three would do well. Now is the time. Technically it was the time with odyssey being out and doing so well, but now that we've watched spyro and crash get cancelled, the gaming space is still in uproar and frustration over this. Explode the internet, save the day, and announce a brand new xbox/switch/switch2 banjo-threeie. A true genuine sequel both in plot and gameplay to kazooie and tooie

i think the switch joycon charger mainly for the m to charge the NES or FC controller which do not have USB-C port built-in which they already sold tons of those to the market
May be the next batch of NES controller will comes with usb-C port instead for charging after Nintendo clear out all existing stock they have in stock.....
10:28 NSO games use the original ROMs, it won't take anything from the Xbox 360 version as Nintendo doesn't have the rights for that and X360 games are not on NSO. Even for GoldenEye they went with the original N64 ROM instead of the enhanced Xbox version.

Banjo is nowadays a Nintendo-like game. Nintendo players repel basically anything that comes from Microsoft (you can verify this with their reaction to the Microsoft partner showcase, that was GOOD for any ps2/ps3/360 era gamer).

I'm playing the Metaphor demo currently. It makes me regret that I added it to my Christmas list previously because now I have to wait until Christmas to see if someone bought it for me before I can grab the full game. At least I'll be able to get Ys X. Also, people are just going to keep trolling on Xbox with these polls. Publishers need to stop thinking so much about how they need to sell millions of copies and just make games that they want on reasonable budgets.

I have more than 2 controllers for every system and I have never in 30+ years of gaming run into the issue of not being able to play games with people because I didn’t have a charging stand.
Some things are simply useless.
Unless you play with 8 people for 72 hours straight you’ll never have that problem.
@@Lock2002ful there werent very many console in that time that had chargeable controllers or they needed new batteries to be put in to work. As someone who forgets to charge controllers constantly, this is convenient. Now am I going to buy one or have I have bought one? I dont have a reason to buy the switch one since i have more pro controllers than joy cons. If I had more joycons then the stand would be perfect for me. I have bought a stand for the wiimotes since those arent rechargeable but the stand comes with rechargeable packs.
@@Lock2002ful Well... 30 years ago the controller had wires... But the accessory is coming out at the same time as Mario Party and there is a possibility you have to charge more than 2 controllers at the same time when you can play up to 8 players.

These showcases are just a bunch of trailers, so if you go to the Xbox channel, you'll see the individual trailers uploaded. Those individual trailers are basically the summary of the showcase.

I may be misremembering but didn't Banjo Tooie have a wide-screen option back on original hardware? I'm not pulling out my 64 to see but I could have sworn widescreen was already there.
Yeah, it did widescreen via a cheat code, but the frame rate was absolutely awful.
I like the strategy of special edition covers instead of a new console to push a game. Nothing worse than buying an Xbox in anticipation of a new Halo or Gears, then the SE console drops with the game and you have to play on your basic ole black or white box. I grabbed the Starfield wrap and controller, I'm not a big enough COD fan to grab this one but if they do one for the next Halo...

As someone who hasn’t played yugioh in a long time, I want to get back into it but the new rules and cards seem overwhelming. I could be wrong but it’s been about almost 20 years since I have played. So the collection is exciting and I wish it was out by the end of the year but I can wait a little more for a better experience
I use DOYOKY joy-con chargers for my NES controllers, $7 each. My standing charger I have, not sure of brand can do two pairs of joy cons, two pro controllers or a pair of joy-cons and a pro controller. Nintendo's charger is too much, too late. I could get one at my local Best Buy right now but why? I'm more interested in getting the Tomb Raider Deluxe bundle I ordered months ago. Was supposed to be released in September, supposedly got released today but BB text says they are having trouble getting it ready for you. Last pre-order they did that, I didn't get until a week later.

I think the reason Banjo on NSO is such a big deal is because of nostalgia sure, but also because of where gamers play their games. Not that Xbox owners and people who are into 3D platformers from the 64 era don’t have overlap, but it’s definitely not as high as the Switch owners. Besides it just feels right.
the games in the xbox direct looked ok, but seems like 2/3rds of the games dont seem like the type of games your typical xbox gamer would like.

Rafe Judkins the show runner for the god of war show was also the show runner for the wheel of time and that show desecrated the books. I'm not hopeful at all.

It’s good to see Metaphor ReFantazio doing so well. Atlus has been cooking and I do hope they get the recognition they deserve with some GotY nominations.
Banjo-Tooie is truly a treasure. The difficulty balancing is much improved compared to the first game, and the controls are spot-on, especially the first-person view option while swimming underwater. Unlike many modern games where you're limited to the surface, this one allows for extensive underwater exploration, which is much bigger than in the original. The environments are varied and fun to explore. I beat it on the N64 back in the day-still have my original cartridge and console-and it's one of the reasons I bought an Xbox 360.
Really bummed I won't get to play Subnautica 2 with all the Xbox ppl.
The fact that many people didn't even know that there was a showcase shows that the interest in Microsoft is at its lowest... Most of the people who talked about the show are saying that it was a PlayStation show case. Just showing all the titles that people will not play on Xbox and instead play on PC or Playstation.. Microsoft needs to figure out their home console market or just pull the plug or come up with an actual steam machine that makes sense financially because right now these $500 Xbox consoles don't makes sense and the series s as cheap as it is. Leave so much to be desired when you notice. Games aren't even reaching the Xbox platform yet. They make it on PC playable via rog Ally and steam deck... It's a big slap in the face to the actual fans of the console

The switch would benefit from call of duty warzone mobile then the next switch can get the full call of duty game. I think if you are a game developer it would suck not to have your game on the top 3 best selling video game console of all time

I think after Concord flopped, sony has been taking a closer look at any and all projects, so while they may have liked the original scripts for the God of War show, they may have decided to change it after the 200-400 million dollar flop.
