So wonderful to see roller skating pairs and dance from the 1960s. I even knew some of these skaters (Sue Welch, Cecelia Darimont, David Schafer) from Pontiac, MI. Sure wish we had videos from my day, the 1950s. I believe our coaches, Marilyn and Bert Anselmi, from the Pontiac Rolladium were instrumental in presenting these championships on Wide World of Sports.

Twenty years following that the lifts and choreography became much more advanced, but it is very impressive that they did such outstanding contact spins five decades ago. And those shadow jumps were so close together. I loved that contact Boeckle with a regular and an inner landing. That was awesome. I wonder why pairs got rid of contact jumps.
