  • How to perform depth jumps, probably the best running exercise you're not doing. This exercise is fantastic for runners and works quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves etc. to make you a more explosive more efficient runner.
    Depth jumps also work the joint motion of the leg: ankle extension, knee extension, hip extension, again perfect for improving your running ability.

      Kalclash Fitness V iv just started adding squats,calf raises, planks and lunges to my training days each week hopefully will see the benefits in my running eventually

      I did long distance cycling and badminton as my cross training regiment besides running... Hopefully I did nothing wrong.

      I really enjoying skipping/jump rope, I think it’s great for the lower legs building that spring in the Achilles and the feet, also great for your cardio and there’s lots of variations.

      Push-ups, good old fashioned push-ups. And pull-ups.

    The legend is back, THANKS again for Kalclash strategy 3 for a fast 5km. Seriously laid it on the line from kilometre 1 , got my first sub 20m and from now on, that's the ONLY way I run the 5km. Keep remembering your words clearly, DIG DEEP, have a conversation with myself, push myself past the pain barrier, because my RESOLVE , WILL AND MENTALITY is stronger . ( LOVE IT CHAMP, thanks again)

    Leg swings. The number one leg warm up most people are not doing.

    So far doing yoga everyday even in my running session days, that kinda helped me a lot. This type of explosive and plyo workout I haven't done that a lot. Maybe I should start doing that for better performance. Thank you for your video ;)

      Oh for sure, yoga is so beneficial for running. The flexibility and core strength from Yoga is second to none but building some explosive power on top of the running and the yoga will help even further

    1.Sack race, who needs depth jumps with this classic exercise.
    2 Egg & spoon race, great for agility and vegan friendly.....almost.
    3 Piggy back races, better than any squat session.
    4 Wheel barrow races. The human kind. Shits, giggles and boulder shoulders guaranteed!

    aren't typ I (slow twitch) fiber muscles desired for the purpose of endurance running (=low intensity and aerobic) ?
    And those typ II (fast twitch) fibers desired for sprinting (/high intensity = anaerobic). Which "you don't need" or rather need way less?
    So for a better endurance perfomance -> aerobic work = running?

    There are lots of great running exercises/drills; lots of mobility, stability ones which are not only great for running but also for overall health. If someone is concentreted to much only on one exercise, one movement it won't result in the optimal health.
    Functional, Iyengar, vinyasa yoga, animal flow are really superb.
    Skipping rope is an amazing self-limiting exercise (read about it in the article of Gray Cook)

      You recommend any Zero drop shoes for Road running ? Apart from the five fingers (Looks a little odd)
