    Beautiful car. I remember in Indiana in about the year 2000 there was a red on red 79 4spd car for sale and it had some rust of course looked identical to this car except used and abused but all there. I remember we were appalled at the 3500 asking price lol. Wish I could go back in time and get that car with that price now lol.

    Not to knock your car, but to call it all original and have the wrong year shaker(70-76 shaker) on it.... Yeah... You need the right shaker!

    Shouldn't rest your hand on the shifter, hard on the synchronizers.

    nice ride! you know these kids today are so brain washed by the fast & furious movie series that they have no respect for these old muscle cars and classics! They actually think that an 03 honda civic is a better quality car and under the impression that cars like that are going to out last good ole American Iron, boy are they in for a shock!

    0:12 - 0:17 something which is very special in the states, is in Europe a common thing which all 17 years old newbies need to learn in driving school 😅. Awesome car love it.

    Anyone else notice how far the steering is off?

      They probably fix the blinker switch and whoever put back the steering wheel didn't align it straight.

    I have looked @ the 2 TRANS-AM that you posted. Something amiss,look @ the angles of their STEERING WHEELS while you're driving STRAIGHT? I love the fully equipped BROWN 1. BAD-ASS.

    @cossworth to answer your question pontiacs do not have a lack of torque. they have about 330 ft lbs of torque at 200 hp... and the torque curve is very good.

    The 79 trans am with a 403 olds engine and a 4sp is very rare, there were only 1500 made, the 400 4sp is valuable to adrenaline junkies, the 403/4sp is not fast but rare.

  • @Frankjp555

    @henshalldood you just gotta know where to look, i found just bought a 77 trans am for $800. it's got 54,000 original miles, it was advertised as a 403, but more research i found it's actually the TA 6.6L pontiac in place of the original 403. it needs some TLC, new door panels and new paint job but mechanically it is very sound!

    I just picked up a (RUNNING) 1980 Formula (301, non-turbo / Auto) for $500... I have a 350TPI .040 over with a Tremec 5 speed, I cannot wait to drop in! This video makes me wanna jump on it quicker ha

    The olds 403 will have the long oil filler neck in the front and the Pontiac 400 won't. The time I restored my 79 403 the 6.6L shaker decal was not available so I had T/A 6.6 that came with the Phoenix graphic kit.
    Put a mild Edelbrock cam& intake along with headers and ran a 14.5@99MPH at Texas Motorplex. Miss that car!

    dude,i checked out your website,i like the 1970 Pontiac Formula Ram Air III 4 speed,my buddy used to have a 73 firebird formula 400,bad thing about he sold it to a younger kid and repainted to a non factory color,i hate that when ppl do that to muscle cars like if you seen on the over haul tv show.

    Both your trans ams look out of alignment?

  • @81caminoss
    @81caminoss 12 лет назад

    @Blue04Z71 the 301 Pontiac"s got a 4 speed option also. It would be correct however to say only the 400s got the 4 speed. not the opposite.

  • @stephenflowers8516

    Nice car. But it looks like it needs an alignment by the position of the steering wheel.

  • @75Bird455
    @75Bird455 13 лет назад

    Not fond of the rear well ground effects, and judging by the steering wheel misalignment, that would need sorted. Very nice car though!

    If this car is a factory 4spd it does have the 400. Only the 4spds in 79 got the 400. This is one of the 2917 made with them. I have one also.

    sbc's are cheap to build and endless parts/ combos available. If you really want a good ride, go drive one with a healthy 400 pontiac engine. Mine runs circles around most sbc cars and only has hedders, 1969 Ram Air 4 "t" grind cam, a set of big valve heads from late 60's and a good carb. Talk about not spending much money...lol. Mid to high 7's all day long in the 8th mile.

    If all original, low mileage, why is the steering wheel off center? That tells me someone has replaced tie rod ends, or a collision. As a buyer I would walk away because of that on a low mileage "original" car. So please do tell why is the wheel like that?
