(Definitely worth exploring. I was lucky enough to get the chance - my sister lives there)

I live a few dozen miles south in the Evergreen State. The picturesque views of Vancouver Island, as seen from the Olympic peninsula across the strait of Juan de Fuca is a sight to behold.
As someone who is from Florida I never thought I’d like a place that gets cold (relatively speaking), but the PNW is one of those natural gems that had to be experienced in order to be appreciated. It is an acquired taste, speaking about the overcast winter skies.

Best doc I've seen on Vancouver Island. Amazingly accurate. But how they managed to get so many shots without showing any clear-cut logging blocks is a special talent!

Considering 99% of the ancient forests there have been logged at some point and "managed" by profiteers, it is definitely a very glossy depiction of these pillaged lands

Thank you for this!❤❤ I subscribed. My family and I live on Vancouver Island. We love to explore and are always hiking. We live on Shawnigan lake very close to the outback. There is an Ancient forest on Koksilah river not far from our place; tourists don't know about it so we are often the only ones there. Peaceful. We love the wildlife and yes we do have a large black bear population but no Grizzlies. Wildlife photography is my hobby and I have thousands of pics. Next to Alaska we have a large gathering of Bald Eagles when the Salmon run. I'm thrilled when the Sea lions return for Salmon or Herring. I must say the Southern Resident Killer Whales-is endangered, with only 73 whales remaining in the population. Scientists are trying to figure it out. sigh! The ocean, mountains and waterfalls and lakes and the evergreen forest. I'm grateful every day to have this as our home!

Look it up, Grizzlies are sometimes spotted on Vancouver Island. Not to be disagreeable, just so you're aware it can happen. They swim there and with salmon there and woods, everything they could want, don't be surprised if some show up and stay. Often young males disperse from their home habitat in search of new homes where they don't have to compete with the alpha bears in their home territories.
Better to be prepared, than surprised by one. Stay safe 😊

Great Victorian green houses! Years ago the NY Historical Society won the job of reconstructing the glass greenhouse at the Bronx Botanic Gardens. We made a mold and cast each piece of metal in a composite fiberglass form and reconstructed it from the floor up. It’s a magnificent structure. Prior to that I also helped redesign the enclosures at the historic reptile house at the Staten Island Zoo, another NYC landmark. Good luck with the fish, you must have a huge staff taking care of all your animals.
