    Family had a 2000 Outback, bought with 150,000 miles on it. Owned it for 4 years, trasmission gave out (4EAT) at 272,xxx miles. Car went through two new drivers from start to license test, hit one tree, and 30,000 miles a year. Broke down at the dealer when picking up a new Forester, got $500 trade in on it.

    Subaru AWD blows away Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Honda, Volvo and VW in all tests. Resale value is higher in Subaru too. Subaru is also a top rated IIHS safety pick.

    I'm the third owner, my 2004 Subaru outback. It has 244,000 and counting. Wow! We'll see if I keep it or not😢

    Yes, I don't like SUVs and I don't like the Forester. My opinion doesn't detract from the fact that the new Forester is an excellent vehicle like any Subaru I can think of, and it is exactly what Subaru needed: a car that sheds some of its quirky image so that non Subaru people might want to buy a Subaru. I own 4 Subarus and like I said, I m replacing my old Forester with an Outback. Whle I loved the 03-08 Foresters, the 09 just doesn't move me.

    I am a long time Forestr fan and I hate the new one, it looks like a Rav 4 and it isn't a wagon anymore, it's a SUV. I am buying a new Outback this week to replace my 4 year old Forester.

    I had a Subaru once, but it cost like hell with new bearings and joints. Very plastic intreor! But it runs ok!

    I've heard visibility is a nightmare in the Venza, is it truly as bad as I've heard?

    Subaru reliability is overrated and average at best, not to mention they are expensive to maintain. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying a car that is cheaper than most higher end cars in its class, but costs just as much to repair.

    • @djizzah
      @djizzah 8 лет назад +2

      +voodazz Not as cheap to run or maintain as a Toyota and big services are quite expensive, at least in Australia. Not that reliable over a 10 or 15 year period.

      I see what u mean but disagree. Even if u have to do a headgasket, if u compare that cost to what you’d have to put into say a 2005 Taurus/ explorer over 5 years.

      2005 llbean....150,000 miles. basic maintenance, garaged. runs like new. The car is still a beast, can not be stopped in snow!
